Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd love to spend time with Martyn Gibson, or other unusual views.

In some haste as we are going out for the day. I was asked weeks ago to put I've Killed the Vicar in as the new title but I agree with more recent comments that Peggy's funeral feels like old news now. Great line, though. Sorry not to have used Markie Malarkey, though. I've settled on something that will only make sense to people who were also youngish in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Here's a clue. If a certain person appears in tomorrow's episode the title will be relevant.

Keira lives with her parents in Little Grange. And she wasn't there when Amber arrived, was she? I thought she was visiting a friend when Amber blew in.

Emma said Keira was at the Grange. When there was a knock at the door last night, they wondered who it was. Ed thought it was Keira who had lost her keys. Emma, said no, she's staying at the farm tonight.

Keira was not there (ie where Emma and Ed were) when Amber blew in. She was visiting Grange Farm. She does not live at Grange Farm

Emma said at the end of yesterday's episode that she was staying the night at the farm.

Makes sense
2 rooms for Eddie and clarrie (the woman needs a break)
1 for oliver
1 for Poppy and Keira (share because they’re besties
1 for George
1 room that Oliver has had soundproofed so he can go and scream when the grundys get too much

She's identified Clarrie as the matriarch and thinks as long as she keeps her on side she will get what she wants with the Grundy's. Clarrie was great tonight and is playing Amber at her own game.

I don't think Clarrie was great. She shouldn't have made any offer until she'd spoken to Oliver.

To be fair, it's far from the worst liberty they've taken with Oliver.

And why can’t autocarrot cope with ‘arsed’? Or with ‘murrain’, for that matter. To cause it real pain, how about a spot of spike triaging? (Spile troshing). Not funny then, not funny now.

I’m finding the storylines turgid at the moment. Considering moving from daily listening to a weekly binge where I can use the fast forward button…

Amber will presumably be live-streaming from Clarrie's dinner table, offering an opportunity for Eddie to show off his table-manners. With luck, she'll charm Oliver into an ill-advised marriage.

I'm liking newly assertive Clarrie. Let's hope it extends to her dealings with Eddy.

I wonder how she came to meet George? Is her dad in the same prison?

she was brilliant, she made it very clear that it would be only if Oliver said "yes" and that she would call him about it at a time of her convenience. She said that twice and meant it. THEN, sneakily, brilliantly, she made it further conditional on Amber apologising to Neil in an absolutely fantastic, brilliant, pincer movement.

Go Clarrie.

Amber offering storage advice was hilarious. Amber doing ALL the washing up - she definitely has identified the One Clear Grundy Ruler and is acting accordingly.

Never mind the rooms at Grange farm, Little Grange is a caravan. It can't have that much space. Amber was speaking as though she thought it had an upstairs.

She claims she followed George on social media and always had a bit of crush on him at school

@Bruisername ...The "she claims" is doing quite a lot of heavy lifting there, isn't it? That said, I can't imagine why getting involved with George would be to anyone's advantage, unless she is planning a dramatic social media trajectory of prison love to divorce in six months.

George went to prison in October, I think, which would make him eligible for release in October this year. I dare say that - unless he's been behaving like a total and utter Grundy - he might get himself included in the early releases

@Gonners it’s the celeb factor isn’t it? Hasn’t Amber more or less said that - something about it being her that got her very own bad boy. I’ll say it again, if that was my son I’d be straight on TikTok to see what was she was saying. Will it be Chelsea who discovers Ambers social media?
