Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd love to spend time with Martyn Gibson, or other unusual views.

In some haste as we are going out for the day. I was asked weeks ago to put I've Killed the Vicar in as the new title but I agree with more recent comments that Peggy's funeral feels like old news now. Great line, though. Sorry not to have used Markie Malarkey, though. I've settled on something that will only make sense to people who were also youngish in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Here's a clue. If a certain person appears in tomorrow's episode the title will be relevant.

Amber is the type of person that's goes on Britain's Got Talent and Simon says no thank you and she can't believe him and says "oh your wrong, all my friends and family think I'm really talented, just you wait".
I know every one knocks Justin but the actors acting is very good. Both the actors who play Justin and Brian have been very good with thier arguments lately, not that I can understand what they are talking about.
Nice to hear Oliver, the actor that plays him always plays a baddie, so its nice he is nice in TA.
Hope we never have to hear Rochelle ever again. Can't believe Roy is pineing for her.
Like the idea of the Teddy Bear zip wire but they would all have to be weighted or it will be over in a flash.

Amber reminds me of Smithy’s girlfriend/almost wife in Gavin and Stacey. Why is she such a bitch to Brad?

Who is writing this week? The dialogue seemed weird at several points last night.

She's a bitch to everyone, even George, I think, but she's coercing him more subtly.

Absolutely that- or even just picked it up herself. It was a discount voucher, not a gift voucher. Emma still has to pay.

I want Jim to find the magazines, assume whoever he shares the house with (Alastair?) left them there for him, and do all the crosswords.

Re the voucher, it's obviously just a promo voucher given out by the teeth whitening place. It won't have cost Amber anything.

I don't understand why Oliver and others keep saying that Amber is nice once you get to know her. She's so hilariously over-the-top awful, that I can't understand why any of the older adults are putting up with it for even a second. Is it just the power she seems to have over their relationships with George? Ugh.

I don't know why my brain translated that as "the tooth fairy", but it made me laugh anyway.

They all seem terrified of upsetting George!

Amber was awful to Emma.

Rochelle is nowhere near as awful as Amber. I didn't mind Rochelle really- it was more that the storyline was oddly inserted.

Fortunately I only find Amber … silly, not irritating. As long as she does no lasting harm to any Grundy or Carter, I’m all for George having a future to come out to. Because the alternative isn’t good.

Rochelle on the other hand was a total misfire. A disappointing resolution to the story of someone who doesn’t matter in Ambridge, but somehow manages to insert herself into everything; an inconceivable love interest for someone who ought to matter; and a surly and miserable presence all round. Never want to hear from her again!

Rochelle was even more annoying than Amber, and I can't stand Amber.

Imagine the chaos we'd all be in if we had two new characters, Ray and Max. Well, I'd be confused, anyway.

I'd agree but then I remember there are vapid people of all ages out there who actually care about influencers and their lives.

Plus Oliver is a perennial optimist, considering he's still in a house share with the Grundys.

I'm hoping Jim will bin any bird hunting magazines and give Oliver the RSPB mag instead, and they'll have a restrained polite tiff.

At times like this, I really miss the laugh emoji. 🤣

There are ten or more emojis available to use, though, so I can't understand the problem. We had the thing in a single keystroke for a couple of months, then MNHQ discovered it was being misused to distress people and stopped it again. I still don't see what was wrong with the single "like" we had for years until for some reason they thought change and improve were synonyms.

Is it just that people want their appreciation of posts to be a secret between themselves and the poster?

Maybe. But there was also the advantage that threads didn’t get filled up with posts that just read ‘’.

So instead they get filled up with posts that say "I really miss the laugh emoji"....

sorry, to get back to Brian's farm. Can't really call it Home Farm, so what is it now?
Who is working there? what do they grow? how much land etc?

It is still Home Farm! The Aldridges just don’t own the main house any more.

Last we heard, Stella is working there, with Ed part-time. They grow various crops, and do contracting work for other farmers. The farm is 1,500 acres. And its name continues to be Home Farm.
