All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like Harrison to hasten home, or other unusual views.

I thought that too about how can a ln Arab, but nevertheless a hunter, kept at livery, be anyone's first time in the saddle and used for a riding lesson? Why wasn't Lilian holding Aziz's bridle when Martyn dismounted rather than telling him to grab the reins?

I'm not sure I can listen to any more of Justin's coswallop about rewilding.

There's been a lot of Fagash Lil recently. I could do without that as well. She's such a stupid, self- important woman.

And why are we expected to care about Martyn and Annabel?

Obviously the idea of Martin having having a riding lesson on Aziz is ridiculous.

And now we are asked to believe that Amber has invited herself to tea again and then proceeds to insult Neil in hysterical terms.

The Amber SL feels like the Rochelle SL all over again. Is she seeking revenge for previous slights? Is she stealing George's DNA? Is she a honey trap to get George involved in crime after his release? No, none of these. It's another damp squib. She is just another caricature, so completely lacking in any self awareness or social skills that she comes across as unhinged and totally unbelievable as a character. Let's hope Rex doesn't ever meet her or he'll fancy himself in love with her too.

I see btw that Steve Reed, the Environment Secretary, is talking about incentivising farmers to make space for nature. Although he also talked about the importance of food security in the same speech, so his thinking isn't altogether clear.

I assume Amber was recording all that and will put it on her so-shul-meejah without permission. I rather hope this will get her into quite a lot of trouble. But it won't.

The Amber story is all so silly, I'm pretty sure no one would behave like that in real life, if they were they'd be mentally ill. I also wonder why Amber is so keen to keep visiting George's relations, it's very odd, presumably it must be part of whatever will be revealed.

Also in real life Emma wouldn't have listened to Amber's rant in the carpark, she'd have told Amber to fuck off( well I would have). I'm pretty sure in real life Clarrie would have asked Amber to leave when she started asking why Neil was there.

Wherever this storyline is going it's being done in an extremely clunky way, no speck of realism.

I couldn't agree more, @Buxusmortus . So lacking in basic realism. I can only imagine that the reveal will be Amber dropping George like a stone when the trends shift and he is no longer garnering likes or what ever.

Yep, Buxusmortus, also agree. I’ve just caught up with tonight’s and wished I hadn’t. Utter claptrap. Turns out there was a whole new level of shark-jumping after the Neil-the-foundling story, Justin 'my computer is talking to me' Elliott, Chuck'n'Faith and their illusory Ambridge holiday cottage, and Rochelle the vegan abattoir activist. We now have a crazed George obsessive who behaves in a way that would have most people backing away at speed while dialling for urgent medical assistance, and yet everyone she meets in Ambridge seems willing to try and engage politely with her even as she insults them to their faces.

If anyone spoke to me or my friends and family in my house in the way Amber spoke to Neil, they would be out in the road before they could say 'Jack Robinson.' Gratuitous rudeness of a particularly nasty kind. Clarrie needs to grow a pair.

I would have totally told Amber to eff off. She is really horrible, and I wouldn't be spoken or have any one be spoken to in that way. I know Neil and Susan love George but they should wash their hands of him and his shit stirring. Hope Amber falls over her self tanning machine and strangles her self on the lead. I hope Emma finds out and sees Red and gives Amber a kick up the arse on the village Green.

Same! I blame this thread - it makes us addicts who don't want help.

Maybe Susan is the one to front up to the insufferable Amber.

Or Emma, or both.

The problem with the character is that you can’t argue with her - she’s thick skinned and deluded. Her argument with Emma showed that.

the thread has gone quite quiet and I assume that’s because there isn’t really much to say about Amber because she’s awful and unbelievable

the sw haven’t understood how to hook their listeners. New and outrageous characters don’t do it. Helen being all red flag around Dane for eg created far more discussion

I agree that the sw don’t seem to understand what the listeners want. Because this ridiculous Amber storyline right after the Rochelle debacle isn’t it.

Having started the Dane storyline which could have led to something a bit more interesting regarding Helen's attitude to men, her relationship with Ian, how Dane was getting on at GG etc, we haven't heard a dicky bird apart from, I think, one mention of her going on another date and Helen telling Tom it was ok to talk to P&T about it.

Given how nosy everyone was at the start yet no one has mentioned it since, are we now supposed to believe that Helen is now miraculously in a happy relationship with him and the next thing we know they'll be buying a house together?

Yet another example of a silly story that is then dropped completely. It doesn't even have to involve the actors, even a throwaway line such as" Helen told me she and Dane are getting on really well" would at least give some hint of other lives continuing and would be realistic.

I'm actually surprised Joy hasn't been involved with Helen as a therapist, relationship advisor and life coach, given her endless talents in all areas of life.

Outdated kitchen cabinets will look good as new with easy method - your best options
