Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like The Archers to be wall to wall election conversations for the next month, or other unusual views.

Well, he has been writing for TA since 2019 (four weeks that year), and every episode he's written for TA since 5th October 2020 can be found in synopsis at https://ambridgereporter.org.uk/synopses/ so you can judge his output for yourself. (That one is searchable.)

I'd like her to be sacked from Grey Gorbals for gross misconduct, fail her course as a consequence, get back together with the ghastly Russ and never darken our airwaves again.

I think she should do well at grey gables and dump any idea of working at lower loxley. She then gets onto a graduate scheme at a big hotel scheme and on her first assignment she gets trampled by an elephant/gored by a bison/stands on a blue ringed octopus/gets a fatal dose of legionnaires/falls overboard

If she runs off with Russ there’s a risk she’ll come back again

I’m enjoying the concerted effort to develop the youth angle now, and we have two triads emerging: Chelsea, Ben, Freddie/Lily, Paul, Josh. There’s a pleasing symmetry to it. I wonder if that will go anywhere.

I’m also just going to say it again (because I like to think I’ve spotted a secret significant code!) that I’m sure one of the horses with strangles is called Markie Boy. Is this Markie’s horse and will strangles entangle(s) him further in Ambridge? I really hope I haven’t misheard now 😂.

The Pargetters truly would feel unfortunate if falling to one’s death became multi-generational

I have had another listen to the episode of Friday 7th June, and as far as I could tell the two horses Jakob mentioned as having developed strangles (mildly) were called "Marigold" and "Lucky Boy".

Im really sad about Duke, im afraid I wouldnt be so understanding like Oliver but thats me.
Lily is so squeaky voiced and annoying, talk about fancy yourself.
Dont care about Paul.
Denise is a nasty piece of work.
She disappeared after the accident pretending she was ill and left Alistair to explain why they were at the crash site.
She has gone on holiday with John and keeps sending Paul so many photos so he is bound to show Alistair to make him jealous. She is the type that if anyone finds out about thier almost affair she will point her finger at Alistair and say "He made me do it". I hope she gets written out with her and John deciding to move to the West Indies to look after Johns mum.

Is anyone else getting ‘vibes’ from Lilian and Oliver? There was that weird conversation she had with … someone … saying Justin isn’t a nice man, and now we’ve got Oliver being all sensitive about his beloved horse, and terribly understanding and kind to her.

Alice is horrendous, so judgmental and snobbish. ‘Hot girl summer’ made me snarl. Conceited little madam.

I couldn’t give a fiddler’s cuss about Paul.

the little teasers from the announcer are very odd. It was something along the lines of Paul getting a shock. I mean sure but not something any listener would care about. The other day it was about Ben having a hard day - was it really?

I’m just suspicious of anything that might be signposting. Lilian saying Justin isn’t nice, then lots of scenes with her and Oliver. I didn’t detect any flirting or whatever, just as I say, suspicious of the SWs 😄. Very comfortable with eating my words!

It definitely seemed the SW wanted us to wonder about Lillian + Oliver …

It’s probably too much to hope for but would certainly be fun. I’d be glad to see the back of Justin - and Lilian and Miranda might actually become friends without him in the picture. And Oliver has been oddly unfocused for years - he’d have a new lease of life if he got together with her. (Though I still regret Tracy - the SWs really chickened out there.)

i wonder if we will hear any more from Jason? Particularly when he finds out who Freddie is. Perhaps a fire bombing of the orange die? Would be good if pip and Lily met up for afternoon tea
