So if Bartleby dies and it's viewed as being bc of Alice's drunken mistake (although I don't really see how this would be fair?), will George's grief and rage make him blurt out publicly something about how he was only trying to help her by driving her home that night?

Radio Times Ambridge Diary June 2nd-7th
After the trauma of the car crash, Harrison and Fallon are still trying to make sense of everything, but as Harrison's birthday approaches, Fallon springs a surprise - are emotions still too raw for it to work? Emma and Ed worry about George as he tries to escape the attention of The Borchester Echo, Lilian has a huge crisis at the stables, and Lynda puts her foot in it with two members of her cast.

The Grundys' trip to the Borsetshire County Show doesn't go smoothly, with Ed and Emma presented with a dilemma. Meanwhile, as Harrison continues to struggle, Alan offers a suggestion that may distance him further from Fallon.
Paul is left reeling by a controversial idea, Stella has a crisis at Home Farm, and Lilian's stress levels rise at the worsening situation at the Stables.

Just looking back at the spoiler for this evening's episode, whoever wrote this clearly hadn't read the script:

6.6 Harrison comes to a realisation, and it’s a big day for Ben.

No he didn't, that was Fallon. And no it wasn't - unless, for Ben, prancing around in Robert's grandfather's uniform constitutes a Big Day.

I enjoyed this evening's episode.

I was quite surprised that Fallon's great aunt had a telephone in the house in 1944.

Yes, a telegram being delivered to the door would have been more realistic.

The great aunt was in Egypt at a nursing station. They would have had a field telephone not telegram boys.

Good point. I assumed they were in a private house.

But she was washing her hair so it was clean for the wedding the next day - so they were getting married in Egypt?

I assume so he only had 24/48 hour leave?

Do you think Lily's surprising offer on 24th could be manager of GG as Roy clearly won't be coming back?

"Interim" manager, perhaps. If it works in the same way as it did for Ian (interim head of food, whatever that meant) she will be in the job forever, while never actually doing any work.

Well I’d hope it’s an offer of traineeship for the manager role, as (from what she said) she still has another year at least of her degree to go. I really couldn’t bear to have her drop out of another university course. She can be manager once she’s graduated.

@TottersBlankly - Now you're just being silly! Why would a Pargetter (and an Archer too!) need qualifications? Those are for the little, unimportant people.

You're right though. And isn't she studying Estate Management rather than Towel-Folding and Reception Supervision Studies?

Crying in his room🙄. It’s a very teenage house. And the discussion ‘should we ask him outright?’ - what kind of friends are they? And why would Lillian talk to Josh? It’s all very bizarre to create a conversation between Lily and Josh where they angst about how to do basic friendship

and what was that conversation between Emma and George that dragged out. Wouldn’t you naturally start with the wanting to buy him?

I've always imagined Paul to be in his late 30's?

That household is very odd.

Lily -24- and no hints of prospective dating until this week(?). She has been single and at Uni and at a swanky hotel (apologies to anybody getting sudden flashbacks to Jazzer and Tracey inflagrante).

Josh -26- and seemingly without any social life/skills whatsoever.

I don't understand why the place hasn't been a party-house.

I imagined Paul to be a similar age to Josh and Lily.
