What does it mean in this context? I can't see what either part of that spoiler had to do with tonight's episode.

Bruisername · 22/11/2024 19:52

So near miss was mick almost moving in with joy but then not

and Justin making his mark was him bullying brad

I’m not sure the sw know what either of those expressions mean

Gonners · 22/11/2024 20:23

Someone needs to make their mark (non-figuratively) on Justin.

Scam alert week coming up on the BBC including The Archers...

"Residents in Ambridge will be dealing with the issue of scamming, in a dramatic week for The Archers."

Not sure if next week or the week after?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/11/2024 11:01

Here we go again. Happy Scam Awareness Week, everyone! Hmm Here are the spoilers for the next four weeks. The BBC hasn't usually had more than three weeks available at a time but a couple of weeks ago there was suddenly an extra one. Maybe it's related to Christmas. Anyway, there are celebrations at Brookfield the week before Christmas, which strongly suggests to me that Jill is still alive at that point. Maybe a health scare the week before but she's home for Christmas?

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .

TottersBlankly · 23/11/2024 13:57

Brad still under pressure 3 or four weeks hence?

Are the SWs determined to have him fail his first year?

Grim, if so.

RegimentalSturgeon · 23/11/2024 17:24

Are the SWs determined to have him fail his first year?

I don’t care much whether he does or doesn’t, but we are hearing altogether too much Brad. There’s this to be said in his favour, though: he’s not Chelsea.

MsCheeryble · 23/11/2024 19:10

On the podcast, Jeremy Howe said "Watch this space" when asked about the Gills and Home Farm. My guess is that they are not going to cast the Gills, but they will decide to sell up and there will be a big debate about whether Brian should buy it back.

Gonners · 23/11/2024 20:49

How on earth would Brian do that without selling land, or shares in Home Farm? And why, at 81 last week, would he do this? I can't see the other shareholders agreeing to the former, or anyone wanting to buy the latter.

noodlezoodle · 23/11/2024 23:58

I wonder if all the Joy having a surprise and a visitor ruffling feathers could at long last be Rochelle?

I'm sure I will be disappointed and it will be a new goat or rooster or some similar nonsense.

The Ambridge money fairy, of course.

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/11/2024 08:05

Why would Brian want a massive farmhouse at his age?

WitcheryDivine · 25/11/2024 08:28

Romance at Bridge Farm had me intrigued and then I thought - it’s probably the goats.

Madcats · 25/11/2024 10:03

Maybe the editor plans for Phoebe or Ruari to become mega rich, deciding to buy Home Farm. Perhaps Debbie will tire of Hungary (who owns the Hungarian farm BTW).

I had hoped that Brenda would buy it, but the Tuckers are becoming a distant memory.

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/11/2024 08:05

That's why there would be a big debate about it.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/11/2024 15:03

Brian wouldn't; Miranda might.

DeanElderberry · 26/11/2024 08:14

I have already said I want a newly megarich Ruairi to buy the farmhouse, marry Meriel, the couple to use the name 'Archer-Donovan' and do something really commercially successful and generally admirable, I don't care what. It would annoy everyone in Ambridge so much.

Bruisername · 26/11/2024 10:49

So we had 4 unknowns - faith, chuck and Ellie have been introduced

who is the fourth - scammer or scammed?

Looking at the cast list my bet is on Eddie Grundy making a profit out of the 4th.

Stay safe in Scambridge? @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

(as a thread title)

Gonners · 26/11/2024 17:43

Arch-failed-scammer Eddie might be the most likely person to recognise a scammer.

Or the most likely to be scammed…

we need more Grundy misery don’t we 🙄

I'm thinking of renting a country cottage cheaply for a mid-week break. I have visions of scandi-style minimalism, a well-stocked fridge, a great coffee machine and a wood-burning stove. Bowls of porridge on arrival optional.
Should the booking turn out to be a scam, somebody will take pity on me and put me up in a warm barn that has a kitchen and toilet facilities.
As advertised by the BBC.
