It was a very good tribute, I thought. Jeremy Howe and Sunny Ormonde spoke very warmly about June Spencer. Quite a few clips.

Jill's in the cast for that mid-December week and there are a few sentences that could indicate some sort of health issue for her. Leonard is in the cast too for this next month. Hmm.

Poor Hilda, cut down in her prime.

(She was adopted away from Fabrice in May 2017, and was assumed to be quite a young cat then, so she might be as little as eight or nine years old.)

Not Hilda. Unfortunately not Burns, Justin, Lilian, Jolene, Kenton, Fallon, Alice, Tom, Ed, Eddie, Chelsea, Brad, Pip, Ben, Paul, Denise, Adam, Ian, Joy, Mick, Lynda, Robert, Susan or Emma either. Not even Fat Rosie, Marthurr, Seren, Nova, Xander, Jack or Henry.
Some days, I don’t know why I bother.

Maybe it was Pip's kitten. (ok a bit of a stretch for a vet to think a kitten was Hilda, but surely it would be a blessing for the kitten to be free of the ghastly Pip and Fat Rosie)

It sounds a bit ominous for Brookfield as we get closer to Christmas.

Is Ruth heading for a breakdown of some kind? Maybe that's why she's being so horrible.

If ‘breakdown’ means another expensive Christmas in New Zealand spending more of her inheritance - I’m all for it …

The SWs are making her spectacularly unpleasant at the moment.

I would not have been happy to let someone else use my kitchen when it is a farmhouse kitchen, so I didn't find Ruth particularly rude. Preparing food for 50 in a kitchen where farmers in overalls and wellies were likely to come in and out doesn't sound ideal.

In that case Ruth should have cancelled the booking, though I expect that (being Ruth) she expected The Bull to cancel theirs so that Fallon could use the kitchen there. It was all ridiculous, frankly, especially the last-minute addition of extra guests with no "Sorry, we can't do that".

Worst Christmas ever?

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 24-29 November
Fraud comes to Ambridge as the BBC's Scam Safe initiative seeps into the storylines. Two unexpected visitors puzzle Jakob and a week of strange encounters sets the local community on a mission. There's a blast from the past for Eddie, and an opportunity to make a mint - but as Clarrie tries to keep him on track with the turkeys, someone could fall foul of a con trick.

Do they really need to bring the archers into scam week 🙄

Aren’t most scams done online these days?

this would be most believable if one of the older characters got one of the infamous ‘this is your bank calling’ calls

or we had a longer term sl with romance fraud (please be Helen)
