13th November 2024 - those well-informed Mustardlanders have pointed out that that's Peggy Woolley's 100th birthday! Not that you'd know it from the spoilers. Surely that can't pass unmarked? Fair number of Bridge Farm Archers in the cast list that week, but none of her other blood relatives. Hmm.

27th October - 1st November 2024
27 Oct Justin spots an opportunity, and Kenton gets his hopes up.
28 Oct Lilian is not impressed, and Jolene puts her foot in it.
29 Oct Fallon’s suspicions are raised, and Rex is a man with a plan.
30 Oct The pressure piles on Harrison, while Henry makes a friend.
31 Oct Khalil hatches a plan, and will Justin learn his lesson?

Radio Times Ambridge Diary October 27th-November 1st
Lilian has to remind Justin of his promise to turn over a new leaf when he looks to turn a situation to his advantage. Yet, as Halloween nears, he struggles to keep his promise. Brad wrestles with his dilemma - having been sworn to secrecy, he fears the consequences if he spills the beans and the disaster that may unfold if he doesn't. There's excitement at The Bull as they await someone who could improve their fortunes, but the changes may not be welcomed.

3rd November - 8th November 2024
3.11 Justin takes a walk down memory lane, and Ed tries to do the right thing.
4.11 There’s a ray of hope for the Grundy family, and Lilian remains unimpressed.
5.11 Natasha has a brainwave, and Kirsty finds herself on the spot.

I hadn't thought of that. Wesley is Barrie Rutter, who's 77 and from Yorkshire. I was assuming he might be the one advising The Bull, but I can't think what about. Baffled about who Sarah Byron might be. Michelle Greenidge is 55 and also from Yorkshire. I wonder where the prison is supposed to be.

Why am I thinking Wesley was an interior designer who flitted around Ambridge a while ago? Plying his trade either at The Bull or in Jenny’s Perfect Kitchen?

I can't remember any details, Totters, but wasn't there a consultant who wanted to change the name of The Bull? Probably also a kitchen designer at Home Farm. I'd be surprised if Barrie Rutter had ever been in The Archers before. I can't find any mention of that on a quick Google search.

Angus Shrimpton was the one who redesigned The Bull in 2020; notable for wearing sandals and no socks in December, I seem to remember. He had redesigned Justin's club in London, or something of the sort, so I don't think he worked for the company Jennifer bought her kitchen from, even though he was billed by Justin as a "hospitality consultant" and Jennifer was nothing if not hospitable.

He turned up on the same day Kenton ran over and killed Eccles the peacock.

Barrie Rutter has not been in the cast since April 2010, nor between 1953 and 2003....

(If anyone has a source for the cast-lists between the end of the ones in the Genome and the beginning of the ones I scraped out of the Archers Website, I'd love access to them just to fill that gap between the end of December 2003 and the beginning of April 2010.)

Yes, that's a good suggestion. Presence of surname in cast list suggests someone official.

Maybe Sarah Byron's a police HR person responsible for sacking the terminally useless?
