I wouldn't be surprised if either Helen or Pat lets something slip and Ed finds out that George isn't having a lovely time toning his body in the prison gym followed by a long luxurious hot shower. Sad

As you say, priceless.

Thanks for the updates @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .
Went to fetch the books only to realise it was only a few streets away from where a friend used to live. Friend died years ago suddenly at a young age but something inside me said not to be sad as I would bump into someone and it would make me happy.
Got the books and am delighted, obviously.
Drove to the town centre and seeing a store that's not in my town, parked went in, bought a bag of stuff and went back to the car.
Heard someone call my name, turned round and it was someone I hadn't seen for ages and had a chat, so it was quite a good day.

Smile

Will Hilda pierce the hot tub?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/11/2024 20:07

During the fight she has with Ena Sharpclaws from the house opposite but one? It would depend on whether it is solid-shell one or inflatable, I should think, and I definitely got the feeling it was solid.

I would have thought the cat to encourage would be one who lives very nearby, from Khalil's point of view.

Wilma55 · 03/11/2024 12:20

Good to see Leonard in the cast list.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/11/2024 15:56

The woman who bought Bartleby was called Meg Miller. Kirsty's mother is called Megan. Different actors but both ex-Brookside.
Kirsty's mother had a different scouse accent this time.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/11/2024 16:12

It's the same actor even if the accent is different.

This week, Megan Miller is played by Susan Twist
15th January, 2020, Megan Miller was played by Susan Twist

TottersBlankly · 05/11/2024 16:24

Oh - Susan Twist from Dr Who??!

<Bows down>

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/11/2024 16:28

I didn't say it wasn't the same actor. Meg Miller was Jackie Corkhill (Sue Jenkins), Megan Miller was Rosie Banks (Susan Twist).

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/11/2024 17:17

No, you said that "Kirsty's mother had a different scouse accent this time."

So I was pointing out that the same person played Kirsty Millers mother on the two occasions we have heard her. (And having had a listen, I'd say she sounds pretty much the same each time.) Did you mean that in a different programme, Brookside, the actor used a different accent from the one she used in The Archers?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/11/2024 17:23

I took it that Whopping was pointing out we now have a Meg Miller and a Megan Miller, which seems careless of the production team, and by coincidence both actors were in Brookside. It's been so long since Susan Twist was in TA that I couldn't comment on consistency of accents. Didn't watch Brookside after the very early days.

OP posts:
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/11/2024 17:41

Fair enough. I am still getting over the nastiness of a really despicable villain in TA, Philip Moss, having the same name as the central character for many decades, Philip Archer.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/11/2024 18:51

Yes, that was a pity too.

OP posts:
WhoppingBigBackside · 05/11/2024 18:58

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime , she had a different Merseyside accent the last time we heard her.
Kirsty's mother might not be called Miller. Maybe she re-married, wasn't married, or uses her maiden name.

Kirsty's mother would probably be in her mid-sixties, and I wouldn't have thought that Meg/Megan was that common a name then, unless both were short for Margaret.

Where Meg Miller and Bartleby live was not that far from Ambridge, I think, so there seem to be a few coincidences.

Both actresses are about the same age.
