Truly, they are spoiling us! But tonight's "Chris has the rug pulled from under him" makes very little sense to me. He and Emma were hardly the closest of siblings, and you'd think Alice being off the hook would outweigh everything else.

After that, I don't think I like Chris very much. However, if in the future he shops Martha to the police I shall reconsider his high moral stance.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/09/2024 20:39

Emma flat-out lied to Chris and Alice, and when he realised that all the while she was being nicey-nicey and offering to be a character witness for Alice she knew Alice was not guilty of the crime George had committed and framed Alice for, I can see why Chris was very angry with her.

Eastie77Returns · 08/09/2024 22:13

A few of the episode descriptions seem to make little sense recently. There was “Suspicions are aroused for Joy” earlier in the week in the episode when she mentioned the cider bottle. She wasn’t suspicious at all.

They also seem to rinse and repeat the same text. At least once a month we are told we can look forward to an episode where “emotions run high” for a particular character. I believe it’s Alice’s turn next week.

Wilma55 · 09/09/2024 07:41

Question on Brain of Britain (radio 4) about what job Denise Metcalf…. Clare Perkins has in the Archers. Panelist, clearly an Archers fan, got it immediately!

TottersBlankly · 09/09/2024 09:48

I heard that! And thought of this thread.

Really it should be compulsory to reference TA in every possible BBC radio show.

MollyButton · 09/09/2024 13:19

That panelist is indeed an Archers fan. Indeed is a friend of mine from Academic Archers.

On the subject of which they have just issued their call for papers for the conference in Warwick next March. Anyone with anything to say about the Archers is welcome, www.facebook.com/share/p/pVREsTRPSxpQmHT9/?

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/09/2024 14:15

The Jazzer secret will be to do with the flower and produce show.
George and Will will probably not turning up for work.
TA got a mention on Thought of the Day, Barwick Green as an English national anthem.

MollyButton · 10/09/2024 21:14

Jazzer's secret is to do with that sunflower. But if it's close to the time capsule - maybe a juicy secret will come out. Although I thought that would be years hence.

WhoppingBigBackside · 13/09/2024 20:03

That was quite a week!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/09/2024 20:57

Spoilers again. New teenagers three weeks hence. Hmm. Some promising crises brewing at Bridge Farm, though, it seems.

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g .

MsCheeryble · 14/09/2024 03:25

No Harrison in next week's cast list? I was expecting to hear a monumental row with Fallon. And no Clarrie at all? Surely she would be heavily involved in any Bridge Farm crisis?

TherapistInATabard · 14/09/2024 07:47

Ed, still in shock from being kept in the dark, takes decisive action, which may not be the right thing to do

When is it ever? I don’t know about Liz John, but Tim Stimpson and Keri Davies usually write well, so hopefully good things cometh.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 14/09/2024 10:49

Azra Malik…. Yasmin Wilde
Khalil Malik…. Krish Bassi
Zainab Malik…. Priyasasha Kumari

Looks like more pointless filler about the really nit interesting at all Dr. Malik

MsCheeryble · 14/09/2024 11:01

She's probably destined to marry an Archer - or maybe Rex, or the soon to be divorced Harrison - and become more interesting.

WhoppingBigBackside · 14/09/2024 12:09

I think Azra is meant to be middle-aged, she's said several times that she's much older than Adil. Rex and Harrison are in their 30s, I think.

I don't find Azra boring. She's not been around long. Unlike most of the women in Ambridge she has a career. She's also someone with a customer-focussed occupation, so has the potential to be interact with many others.
She also has teenagers, and they have potential.

Gonners · 14/09/2024 13:10

Maybe one of them is training as a social worker. Gawd knows, Ambridge could use one.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/09/2024 13:30

They are teenagers, we have been told, so probably still at the GCSE and A-level stage in their lives.

Bruisername · 14/09/2024 13:48

Hopefully neither are mid exams as that would be a daft time to move schools

could the girl be Henry’s age? Or maybe the boy is being set up for Poppy or Keira?

that generation will be upon us far too soon so need some fresh blood

Good spot about Harrison. I've just gone back to check and no, he's not there. Could be an error. They didn't put Clive in the cast lists at all over the last few weeks, but that was presumably to surprise us and then keep us wondering if he would be back.

I'm in no hurry to hear Clarrie (or Eddie).

I don't understand it, Clarrieluv. We've always done our best for the boy. Where did it all go wrong?

Well, Eddie, how about you and your Dad spending your entire lives working out scams instead of buckling down and doing things properly? And then boasting about them and patting yourselves on the back for your amazing cleverness? And minimising the effect on everyone else?

And you, Clarrieluv, have just sat back and let it all happen, with just the occasional martyred squawk. At which Eddie buys you a box of Milk Tray and thinks everything's OK again. Pah.

I’ve worked out the reason for Robert’s apparent monomania about litter picking. If he habituates his neighbours to the sight of him marching through the village with black plastic sacks at all hours, it will make disposing of Lynda’s body a lot easier.

TherapistInATabard · 14/09/2024 20:53

@RegimentalSturgeon 😂

Gonners · 14/09/2024 21:28

@RegimentalSturgeon Ha! Now that would make the audience warm to NewRobert.
