Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they
become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible.
Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter
tweets!

Well, Eddie, how about you and your Dad spending your entire lives working out scams instead of buckling down and doing things properly? And then boasting about them and patting yourselves on the back for your amazing cleverness? And minimising the effect on everyone else?

And you, Clarrieluv, have just sat back and let it all happen, with just the occasional martyred squawk. At which Eddie buys you a box of Milk Tray and thinks everything's OK again. Pah.

This, in absolute spades. I’ve known too many Grundy Grifter types to have any sympathy for them.

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/09/2024 20:32

I certainly don't have any sympathy for Eddie after today's episode.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/09/2024 20:50

I have been trying for years, possibly decades, to point out that Eddie is not a lovable rogue, he is just a seedy scam artist. Not a very good one, either. One who will spend ten quid'orth of time and energy cheating someone out of a quid.

Gonners · 17/09/2024 21:10

It's a shame Oliver wasn't earwigging on that encounter. Or was he?

And one that, when caught, is the true victim in whatever grift he was running.

Usual full round up of teasers some time over the weekend, but here's next week's Radio Times. Sabotage at the Flower and Produce show! <clutches pearls> Is nothing sacred? O tempora, o mores ...

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 22-27 September
Ambridge matches St Mary Mead for intrigue as a mystery saboteur strikes at the Flower and Produce Show, and Lynda turns Miss Marple to unmask the culprit. Meanwhile, the cricket team's celebrations for winning the league see one resident making an emotional confession. As ever, George is struggling with recent events, and Eddie and Ed battle to help the Grundys to come together through adversity.

For the ultimate spoiler, for some reason Sunday 29th September's episode is on BBC sounds!

TottersBlankly · 19/09/2024 13:22

Not for me …

Blarn · 19/09/2024 14:03

TottersBlankly · 19/09/2024 13:22

Not for me …

No, it's gone! I started listening to it as I thought it was yesterday's then wondered why I had no idea what was going on, then saw the date! I had to stop listening about five or so minutes in to join a meeting now it won't play.

WhoppingBigBackside · 19/09/2024 14:24

Any spoilers from it @Blarn ? Smile

Blarn · 19/09/2024 14:32

It might be the first introduction of Zainab who I can see from above is possibly the daughter of Azra. Ben got to use his nursing skills following a meet-cute sting incident. Alice had a big day with Martha planned and I stopped listening just as Chris was taking a call suggesting something had gone wrong. Stupid work meetings!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/09/2024 14:51

Gosh! Didn't they put the wrong episode up last week as well? Only one day early that time, and I didn't hear it. There used to be some confusion because TA was broadcast on British Forces Radio or similar, a couple of hours before it went out here, and a woman who heard it that way would sometimes comment on things the rest of us hadn't heard yet. Can't remember if that was on Mustardland or here.

I lurk on this thread and occasionally comment on the other one but have followed the Archers since about 2008, heard occasional episodes before that. Hearing next Sundays episode was like hearing the future!

I'm guessing the sunflower meets an untimely end...

Bruisername · 20/09/2024 10:53

It’s going to be a squirrel isn’t it

BrightYellowDaffodil · 20/09/2024 11:01

Or maybe Catty develops a taste for pie and wrecks both Joleyne's and Kenton's efforts...

WhoppingBigBackside · 20/09/2024 11:51

It has to be a cat. There have been too many mentions of kittens for it not to mean something cat-related is about to happen. A catastrophe even.

A cataclysmic catastrophe that categorically catapults the Ambridge caterers, catamite and TA listeners into a catatonic trance?

WhoppingBigBackside · 20/09/2024 13:50

OMG! Bruiser! That's why the 'Look, squirrels!"

MsCheeryble · 20/09/2024 18:05

and Eddie and Ed battle to help the Grundys to come together through adversity.

Unless Eddy does a total U-turn on his attitude earlier this week, I can't see any intervention from him being anything other than disastrous.

MsCheeryble · 21/09/2024 10:02

On the other thread people are assuming that Emma may not be off the hook, but the silence about her on the spoilers suggests that she is. Fingers crossed.

TottersBlankly · 21/09/2024 10:17

My thoughts exactly, @MsCheeryble!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/09/2024 20:43
