Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they
become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible.
Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter

Their reasoning might be that we don't know when he will leave, and him no longer being in them might give that away?

WhoppingBigBackside · 30/08/2024 13:01

BOOP for Joy and Kate.
Clive would probably be in the spoilers but it might be to do with a Doof Doof.
It's Friday, so are we going to have a good episode?

Clive is Alex Jones??? "One! One!..."

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . The WhoppingBigBacksideCats are tabby too apart from Albert Tatlock. He's black.

(He isn't really called Albert Tatlock)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 01/09/2024 19:22

Now we know why Clive and his actor have not been in the casts lists even after his first appearance: they are still playing the will-he-won't-he game for next week.

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/09/2024 11:01

You're probably right. I think Mere might change her mind about Newcastle and go to Felpersham instead. I hope not.
Might Ian try for a unit at the Ambridge Gap Service Station? Pizza vs Vegan?

MsCheeryble · 02/09/2024 12:44

It sounds like the Ian SL is something to do with the sprog going to school. Either that gives him time to get a school hours job, or he'll decide to home educate or something.

TottersBlankly · 02/09/2024 12:54

I was also thinking home schooling. Don’t think we’ve had that on TA - at least within my memory.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 02/09/2024 14:44

Following last night, I reckon Clive doesn't go quietly. In fact he goes off like a firework and tells everything to everyone, including that Will and Emma have known the truth for a while (event spiral out of control). George goes missing again (Will/Susan fears the worst) and he's found threatening to end it all because he knows everyone knows what he did, he's lost his only trump card of going to the police voluntarily, and he knows he's going to prison. He's found by Harrison who either already knows that George is responsible for the crash or George tells him while Harrison tries to talk him down (Harrison struggles to keep control).

Eastie77Returns · 02/09/2024 18:03

I wonder if George struggling to keep his head above water will involve him literally (maybe jumping) in a river.

DrBlackbird · 02/09/2024 18:19

Following last night, I reckon Clive doesn't go quietly.

Same but I’m picturing something big like he starts another house fire (maybe Susan’s) and this time George ends up being a real hero but becomes severely injured in the process so all is forgiven.

Bruisername · 02/09/2024 18:24

And the serious injuries will magically disappear in a month

DrBlackbird · 02/09/2024 18:26

Exactly!

BrightYellowDaffodil · 02/09/2024 21:31

I can’t see them doing another fire storyline so soon after The Grey Gables Explosion. Also, I don’t think a court would spare George prison because he’d later redeemed himself?

WhoppingBigBackside · 03/09/2024 09:33

Clive is violent, so I'm guessing he'll turn on Neil, who seems to be most likely to be firm with him.

Is it too late for Brad to get a transfer to Durham?

Alice looks different somehow!! More like how I imagine Helen!!

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/09/2024 20:22

She really does, doesn't she?
Looking forward to hearing vengeful Brian!

Gonners · 03/09/2024 20:26

That hairdo doesn't do a lot for her.

WhoppingBigBackside · 03/09/2024 20:30

Thanks @BoreOfWhabylon .

I picture Helen looking like Janet Dibley.
Alice looks like Zara Tindall but with longer slightly darker hair,

Cider! I ❤Joy.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 03/09/2024 20:55

Why would the Clive storyline go any further? From the link above the truth about what happened is coming out.

Clive has left and he'll be irrelevant by the end of the week.

Bruisername · 03/09/2024 21:06

Oh has he left? Thank goodness. I’m sure they think they are very clever having all these dead ends but it’s really very boring

WhoppingBigBackside · 03/09/2024 21:06

Yes, of course, silly me.

Gonners · 03/09/2024 21:08

Maybe Clive will be called as a prosecution witness against George. That would be (very mildly) entertaining as an example of CPS incompetence, but at least it would probably ensure that George got off with a tut and a lightly-slapped wrist.

But Clive would have to dob himself in that he knew and did nothing - other than blackmail Emma and Will.
