Spoilers thread for The Archers. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they
become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible.
Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter
tweets!

Something potentially having repercussions for Justin? Boop!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/06/2024 20:49

Well, now we know why Harry is in the cast list for this week. Sigh.

Couldn’t listen!! Why is the awful one back?

JanglyBeads · 30/06/2024 22:42

Yes but it surely means we're several steps closer to g being found out.
Will Chris beat H up?

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/07/2024 11:35

No. He'll be nice about it. He's Neil's son like Emma is Susan's daughter.

He'll mention it to Alice and jog her memory, or Susan and Joy will discover that the only fruit cider they sold was to George and a few teenagers.

TottersBlankly · 01/07/2024 11:36

He's Neil's son like Emma is Susan's daughter.

Never a truer word spoken!

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/07/2024 11:40

I wish I had a Chris or a Neil, but I'm not like Susan or Emma. I'm more like Alice but am not an alcoholic.

Chris believes Alice may be on to something when she says she doesn't think she would have driven her car in the state she was in. He wonders if Harry was with her, drove the car and then scarpered after the accident. He thinks this would explain Martha mentioning Harry's name recently - if Alice had gone on seeing Harry after she told Chris and the family she'd ended things with him. We know he's wrong, but it may spur Chris on. Given the person he will be landing in the soup eventually is his own nephew, this is not going to end well.

That’s wonderfully well observed and described, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g. Will you be copying to the main thread?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/07/2024 12:13

Thanks! Won't C+P because it's currently a spoiler. We know Harry's in the cast list, the diehard spoiler avoiders don't and there would be blood on the tracks if I spilled the beans about that before he turns up. Grin

TottersBlankly · 01/07/2024 12:24

Had forgotten that!

Madcats · 01/07/2024 15:26

When is the village fete?

I'm wondering whether there will be a big showdown during which Joy and Jim confront George with "but we sold you some fruit cider that evening" and Chris says "even when she was at Uni Alice never touched cider".....

Anyway, I am delighted that Bartleby is off to fresh pastures. That was a very odd storyline.

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/07/2024 15:38

It was there for a reason @Madcats . George will start to unravel if he hasn't already, and Bartleby hasn't gone for good.
George has nobody to confide in now.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/07/2024 15:31

Forgot all about the spoilers till there was some discussion about them on the main thread. Election mania and the loss of a night's sleep has clearly had more effect than I thought. Anyway, here we go:

7/7/24-12/7/24
7/7 Frustration grows for Chris, and Denise is in a quandary.
8/7 Lilian gets her hopes up, and Ben lends a helping hand.

11/7 Stella finds herself fighting a losing battle, and George loses his cool.
12/7 The tension mounts for one family, and David brings experience to the table.

Pip is in the cast list for the next three weeks! Why, why, why?

Pip is in the cast list for the next three weeks! Why, why, why?

Are things going to come unstuck with Stella, with the latter telling Pip that no, she doesn’t want to be a de facto stepmother to Fat Rosie, charming as she undoubtedly is?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/07/2024 16:36

I do hope so. Pip's friend Lottie is in the cast list for two weeks hence.

Alastair is going to be dumped isn’t he? With Denise making out it’s all in his head

Pip is in the cast list for the next three weeks! Why, why, why?

I suppose quite a lot of older listeners will be going away on holiday (to avoid the rush when the schools break up), so perhaps the SWs are kindly making sure that they don't have to suffer?

WhoppingBigBackside · 07/07/2024 18:25

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g , Thanks. As Chris gets desperate to save Alice, he and Neil start to look more closely into the accident. sounds promising.
I liked what we heard of John but Denise and Paul seem a bit tedious.

TraumaSalt · 07/07/2024 19:03

I wonder if Joy’s estrangement from her daughter was caused by a drink problem as she’s always been very sympathetic to Alice.

I really hope George gets his comeuppance, I fear it may be as long winded as Rob’s!

BrightYellowDaffodil · 08/07/2024 10:35

As Chris gets desperate to save Alice, he and Neil start to look more closely into the accident.

Oh I do hope so. Neil's quite a sensible, critical thinking sort and Chris knows Alice well, including the first time her drinking was out of control. I should imagine they're going to realise some more things don't add up, much as they'll have to keep it quiet from Susan.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 08/07/2024 10:35

Oh, and I do hope Alice and Chris get back together. Chris still loves her...

DeanElderberry · 08/07/2024 19:21

Is Carlotta Pip's friend Lottie?

WhoppingBigBackside · 08/07/2024 19:28

Lottie is a Charlotte. She might be calling herself Carlotta though.
