Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to have your fortune told by Bartleby, or other unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please! We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4636789-the-archers-spoilers-thread-7-cant-wait-for-702pm-join-us-here, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

Archers For newer listeners, lurkers or those who just have no idea what we're talking about, @DadDadDad has created this useful thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3557323-For-Archers-fans-a-guide-to-acronyms-on-the-long-running-discussion-threads-and-any-other-meta-thread-questions-you-may-have - BOOP point for him! (See thread for explanation.)

Thread thrown together in great haste in advance of tonight's episode. Who's in the Am? Is it George's fault? Is this the end for Alice? Over to you!

This is weird.

Oh he's remembered....

Merrymerrymerry · 06/05/2024 19:14

Has George just remembered Alice???

boodlebeep · 06/05/2024 19:15

Oooh! He has moved her to take the rap!

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 19:15

Oh shut up Denise "You're a bit of a hero, Mr Lloyd" 🤮

TottersBlanklyOnTheEdge · 06/05/2024 19:15

Oh no, George …

Bruisername · 06/05/2024 19:15

Still Sunday

so a late check in at the hotel - I assume they weren’t drinking with dinner

so george didn’t leg it. And we know the bridge now.

so it was mick and joy and Fallon. Lucky they had medical professionals on the scene.

so chickens coming home to roost

  • the affair
  • joys backstory
  • george in trouble (moving alice) but was heroic saving Fallon - what will Will do?
  • Harrison/fallon
  • alice obviously

that wasn’t nice listening but I can’t help thinking the river isn’t deep enough?

Merrymerrymerry · 06/05/2024 19:15

He’s moving her into the driver’s seat! Well done whoever predicted that ⭐️

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 19:16

Oh we were right earlier

Ambridge · 06/05/2024 19:16

Ohhhhhhhh dear…..

Omg

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 19:17

Horrid hearing Fallon trapped in the car. I remember when they did that on EEnders decades ago, really upsetting

TheUsualChaos · 06/05/2024 19:17

Oh George how could you 😞 this is actually really sad 😢

Eastie77Returns · 06/05/2024 19:17

Wow.

Ok controversial but I’m hoping Alice gets all the blame.

George has just saved a life (or two).

None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for her.

TottersBlanklyOnTheEdge · 06/05/2024 19:18

Gosh, they scarcely left anyone out …

Brian out of it though. Thank goodness.

Godesstobe · 06/05/2024 19:18

Perhaps George will turn his life around after this and become a model citizen and marry an Archer.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/05/2024 19:18

Re the Am - perhaps they are finally acknowledging that we've had an exceptionally wet winter. River levels are pretty high round here.

All depends now on George deleting that message from Will's phone before Will attempts to listen to it. Oh dear.

Brian has heart problems, doesn't he? This won't help.

Or look at it this way, George's misguided decision to "help" has caused all of this. Why didn't he just take the keys from her and call someone??

TottersBlanklyOnTheEdge · 06/05/2024 19:19

Devious,@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g - but surely Will would have heard it by the time George gets home?

JanglyBeads · 06/05/2024 19:20

Oh yes the phone message.

TheUsualChaos · 06/05/2024 19:21

Will now has to decide whether to lie for him so yet another one dragged into it all.

Dobest · 06/05/2024 19:21

DeanElderberry · 06/05/2024 15:17

That would be good, because she probably won't remember much about what happened. Alas, his fingerprints will be on the door, steering wheel, gearstick, seat belt buckle, all over the place. Unless the fast flowing waters of the Am wash them off.

They may not look for fingerprints.

muddyford · 06/05/2024 19:21

I'm old enough to remember a pissed Helen Archer running over Mike Tucker (or Neil - a bit foggy at this distance) and persuading Tom to take the blame.

Because driving doesn't usually mean crashing.
