All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you think Steph Casey is a wonderful addition to the programme, or similar odd views.

God I have just caught up on a bundle of episodes. Has it ever been this bad or am I just past it?

You’re lucky if the surgeon says a word to you when you’re having a c-section, you’re basically the bottom half of a torso to them at that point. The anaesthetist, yes.

I so want Lily to dump Russ, Elizabeth to dump Vince and Russ to end up with Elizabeth and become a permanent feature at LL, connected to the Archer family.

Surely a punishment too far? Even for us long suffering fans?

I struggle with Russ I think we are meant to like him and he's by far not the worst character, but are we meant to forget the circumstances in which he effectively groomed Lilly.

Also what were we met to make of Russ' conversation with Tracy's daughter (brain freeze totally forget her name)? Did Russ and her have a fling at the rave? I'm wondering did he 'get off with her"?

I like Russ- he's never boring.

No, he didn't have a fling with Chelsea. They get on well, but there's nothing more than that. He helped her with advice for college, she cuts his hair.

Yeah but it seemed a bit weird when they were talking about the rave and he said he was a bit out of it (paraphrase) and she said something like don't you remember?

Like I say, mostly I like Russ and then I remember he was in a position of responsibility as head of year. I am similar age and there is no way I would have got together with a sixth former.

It would be a good story. Scales falling from Lily’s eyes. Scumbag driven out of LL. And forced (by the entire Horrobin clan and their fans) to provide for said child for the next eighteen years. I doubt motherhood would hold Chelsea back.

I thought Amy was the frontrunner for the unexpected pregnancy SL. I loved the imagery painted by a PP of her turning up on a dark and wintry December night wearing a blue coat.

Please don’t let it be Chelsey. It’s too cliched, surely? I had high hopes for her before she turned into this caricature. I think she should get a place at the Toni and Guy Academy and head off to London.

Did Brian say Ruarhi is on a yacht in Antigua? I think alarm bells would be starting to ring by now IRL. Yachting in the Caribbean is really not typical of student life…

I used to, 20 odd years ago. Day and night. And when they were old enough to have a story at bedtime they also got a song then. Went on until they were old enough to find the sound of my singing painful (as does the cat now).
Amazed me how many lyrics had been stored in my brain from my own childhood and came back when my children arrived.

LOL absolutely. It's a shame Jazzer isn't likely to reproduce so we could witness him whispering Rabbie Burns to the baby while his mother plays soft bagpipes at the back and they tuck the little chap into his first tam o'shanter before passing the haggis-flavoured bottle.

on a less joyful note I've been worrying about Russ and Chelsea for ages, she's the first sixth former he's been around since Lily. I don't think she's likely to be this "normal" if she'd had sex with Russ (for the first time? not sure she's had boyfriends) let alone got pregnant. But I wouldn't be surprised if he'd made a pass at her or at least complimented her in a yucky way.

@TheHideAndSeekingHill , they 'd need to have Jazzer and Mrs McCreary chatting away to each other in Gaelic, while the hapless wean's mother felt left out.
