All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to share a camomile tea with Kate, or other unusual views.

I don't think this thread will get us to Easter, but we should be well into Lent before we need a new title. I wonder if St Stephen's will have a new oh-so-interesting Lent initiative this year. When did we last hear from Alan?

Pretty much. The series is still on the iPlayer if anyone wants to know the specifics. I'd rather blot it from my mind. It was Episode 1, near the end of the episode.

There was also a reality TV thing, where the celeb involved, had to do the same to a pig. There was uproar in the rags after.

It was that woman who was best known for shagging David Beckham, IIRC.

The Mountain Vets thing was at least medically 'necessary': not necessary in the sense that no bitch actually needs to get pregnant, but necessary in the limited sense that it was the only way it was going to happen for this particular bitch. I don't remember the pig thing, but it sounds from the above as though it may have been done gratuitously without a medical reason, in that case it is quite off, IMO.

Alistair's "I should call them survivors." Jim's 'he's been outed so now I have resolution and can move on.' I don't think that's how trauma works, but I'll glad to see the end of the storyline at last.

I adore Alistair, Jim and Jazzer but the Harold business has been ruining the Archers for me for too long now. I neither want to be STTC nor feel I have to pause the show around my children.

Oh and Lillian's got a sign. Brilliant! I hope she hasn't chucked the old one away.

I agree with you inkysplatter - it was all rather too neat. I know ‘survivors’ is the preferred term but I doubt many non professionals say that in real life.
We got an update on something on Sunday/Monday and I thought I’d post to say ‘am I the only one who is struggling to care about .....?’ But I care so little I can’t remember what it was!

I think Shula’s ordination plan is a little joke among the scriptwriters. They know that Shula is not very popular among listeners and that she is often called St Shula or St Smugula so they may as well play to the gallery so to speak.

Jim’s reaction was quite odd to me as I thought he might actually be more likely to feel survivor’s guilt.
