Archers Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to share a camomile tea with Kate, or other unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please. We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3439443-keep-it-to-yourself-the-archers-spoilers-thread-4, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

Archers For newer listeners, lurkers or those who just have no idea what we're talking about, @DadDadDad has created this useful thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3557323-For-Archers-fans-a-guide-to-acronyms-on-the-long-running-discussion-threads-and-any-other-meta-thread-questions-you-may-have - BOOP point for him! (See thread for explanation.)

Thanks to @LillianGish for the excellent Bert Fry tribute title!

I don't think this thread will get us to Easter, but we should be well into Lent before we need a new title. I wonder if St Stephen's will have a new oh-so-interesting Lent initiative this year. When did we last hear from Alan?

The new title has to have the sparky emoji that @springydaff used above. I’ve no idea how that’s done but then I’m a bit of a dinosaur.

The image of Gavin in his underpants playing his x box is so very clear

I am beginning to think I will have to abandon these threads, if you all keep talking about things like that. I do not need this in my head.

It is going to be very unrealistic to deal with the aftermath of the Grey Gables explosion without Kathy speaking. She's the hotel manager, she was working that day, she was present, she will have to speak to the police and HSE.

They need to bring her back or they should have killed her off. Though if they did that I guess they would have had to release Jamie from the cereal cupboard.

If Lynda is dead (about which I am not convinced until we hear it on air) it will be because she left the place she is paid to work in, in order to pursue somebody who had made it plain he did not wish to speak with her, and then not-really-apologise, and witter on and on and on at him, delaying him when he was trying to go somewhere.

Lynda's last words, if last words they turn out to have been, were peremptorily to order Freddie to stay where he was because she hadn't finished (with him, understood).

And if Freddie turns out to have been injured, or if he feels guilty for the rest of his life because she died in the course of her interfering in someone else's business (that of the workman) it will be because he was not allowed by her to leave the building as he had intended to do.

This does not mean that Lynda was not at times able to be pleasant., kind and sensitive; it is certainly the case, though, that this incident was Lynda at her overbearing worst.
