All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to be Joy's best friend or other unusual views.

Thanks for all the input on title suggestions. I'd missed the significance of 111, but @R4 and DDD, our resident numerologist, were right on to it. Strongly tempted by Bore's suggestion but couldn't resist the chance to mention my favourite ever Archers character, Nelson Gabriel. Subconsciously CMR is afraid that if people consider Tracy a gold digger it will draw attention (again) to his own ignoble position at LL.

(I was going to say ‘to his relationship to Lily’ - but the SW seemed to be on the cusp of throwing that out the window last night. This increasing intimacy with Elizabeth is infuriating )

He seemed to mean Pat and Lilian and possibly Peggy by that, no mention of Jenny or Helen or Natasha.

But he said 'all the women'. And it wasn't one of those potentially sane women he was talking to (Helen and Natasha have gone silent anyway), it was Freddie. A trustworthy, sensible, man. Yep, that's right SW, all the women have gone mad.

Lower Loxley does seem a sad place. Considering that most outsiders seem to view - either covetously or jealously - the Archers clan as a clique, it is striking that Lizzie got depressed because she was lonely without Nigel and Freddie feels that he has "never been part of a gang". Jill fled the house because the curtains were too big (or some nonsense like that) so she obviously thought more of the Brookfield bricks-and-mortar than the LL inhabitants.
Is it a well-known malaise?, where the Stately Pile feels like your office and not your home.

And this is why I love this thread. I so rarely pay much attention to conversations involving Leonard - it wouldn’t occur to me to listen for clues to his hinterland. (Don’t really believe in the character/relationship. He seems to be just a device, replacing the absent Carol, to give Jill someone outside her family to converse with.)

Mind you, I’m not entirely convinced the SWs invariably write with intention ...

I do wish Elizabeth would stop confiding in CMR, talking about her therapy etc. Really creepy.

If Lizzie has an affair with Russ it will be even worse than her marrying Nigel after Shula went out with him.

My namesake shows such poor judgement I feel ashamed on her behalf.

Yeah, there's something really ick about a bloke who sleeps with a mother and her daughter. And as a mother, there's no way I could bring myself to sleep with a boyfriend of my daughter's. It's got an incestuous feel to it.

LizziesTwin I always thought your username referred to an incident I was otherwise unaware of (before my birth) where Elizabeth had had a twin who had died in the womb.

In my defence, she does have twin siblings, so it's not as though it would be unheard of in the family!

It didn't even occur to me that you might:
a) have chosen the name for something completely unrelated to TA
b) be meaning that you felt an affinity to Lizzie herself.

So I’m guessing that, once informed of his supposed new love life, Oliver will be outraged and pull back from any friendliness with poor Tracy.

It’s ok @Fink, I’m the same age as Lizzie & even have a child the same age as her twins. I did similarly badly at school but no stately home. I changed my name when we moved to having Archers names & didn’t change back. I think I might have been the same name back on the BBC’s Archer’s message board, known as Mustard Land.

Sleeping with your daughter's boyfriend is very bad, sleeping with CMR is beyond that. His behaviour has been endlessly creepy, I hope they don't make lizzie do that.

I wish CMR would just buzz off.

Yes, and Kate might even feel mildly guilty when she realises all the unread mails were explain about his grandmotger''s death or something, and the fact she lived somewhere with a dodgy phone single, which couldn't handle a full phone call. He'll call round to the house and only Peggy will be in, and she'll tell Kate starting with Jacob being confused that none of his messages got through, even now he's back, and Peggy will say something about Kate being a bit unreasonable, what with his grandmother having died, and it will all click into place for Kate and she'LL still refuse to see him because of embarrassment.

The return of Hilda was inevitable, because you can’t prove it wasn't the feline telegraph system, Joy escapes looking like a complete idiot.
