All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to be Joy's best friend or other unusual views.

Thanks for all the input on title suggestions. I'd missed the significance of 111, but @R4 and DDD, our resident numerologist, were right on to it. Strongly tempted by Bore's suggestion but couldn't resist the chance to mention my favourite ever Archers character, Nelson Gabriel. Actually (sorry for spamming) - simplest explanation for Lily’s shock is that Mrs Russ has told her just how many A level students CMR has ... seduced.

Only that doesn’t cover the appearance glitch.

Perhaps Lily and Mrs Russ were both wearing the same Zara coat/dress (bought for both by CMR).

May I just say how much I’m enjoying all your speculation and I think I can state with absolute confidence that whatever the SWs come up with will be in no way as interesting as some of the explanations posited on here. Indeed judging on current form I’m expecting some total non sequitur that doesn’t stand up to the slightest scrutiny like so much else in the scripts recently.

Maybe Lara is a little older than CMR. CMR is 40 something isn't he, so she would look old to 20 yr olds.

birds Lily is cross with CMR, continuing last night's row. Lily went to party sans CMR. Johhny is getting very drunk so he can test Joe's Remedy and is doing the "I love her sooooo much" routine. Lily is channelling Prince Charles and asking "how do you know what love is". Is also very drunk.

1. will they get together in their drunken stupor (second cousins, once removed)
2. will Lily be in any state to help Freddie tidy for Shula, as promised

Oh, and Lara is young. Mid-twenties now so must have been early-twenties or late-teens when they got together.

Thankyou everyone. So obviously an ex student. But if that's the case how come he was still teaching if it's happened before. I suppose the rules about teacher student relationships may not have been in place a few years ago. At least we know CMR and lizzie wont get together. He likes them young, so fresh

So I reckon the age gap between Lily and Russ is about the same as the age gap between Carrie Symonds and Boris Johnson.

If Lara was, say, 19, when she met CMR she wouldn't necessarily have been an ex-student. Plus, Russ and Lara must have married within the last few years. Perhaps six years ago? It would have been staffroom gossip if he'd married a former student and his colleagues at the time he took up with Lily would know if Lara had been a former student.

Do we think Lara is the first Mrs Russ? If he married her in his mid-30s, there could have been a previous Mrs CMR.
