Archers Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads and @DadDadDad for being our resident statistician and keeping the ball rolling when Pseudo stepped back a bit.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to be Susan's best friend or other unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please. We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3439443-keep-it-to-yourself-the-archers-spoilers-thread-4, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

Archers For newer listeners, lurkers or those who just have no idea what we're talking about, DadDadDad has created this useful thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3557323-For-Archers-fans-a-guide-to-acronyms-on-the-long-running-discussion-threads-and-any-other-meta-thread-questions-you-may-have BOOP point for him! (See thread for explanation.)

Archers Thanks to @QuaterMiss for the title of this thread. For reasons of space had to cut out the bit speculating about Oliver and Tracy pairing off. Surely not! Shock

Off now to give blood, something nobody in Ambridge ever does. Hmm See you all later.

There are so many lost stories at rhe moment. THe Gills. The Lexiebaby, Russ, Lower Loxley, Lizzie, Leonard. Tom and Natasha . Helen and Lee. Hannah and the pig unit. Tom and the App.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 21/08/2019 17:41

And Vicky was 46 when she had Bethany.

MrsGrindah · 21/08/2019 17:44

BertrandRussellPhillip’s neck, don’t forget Phillip’s neck!

BertrandRussell · 21/08/2019 17:48

Oh yes- philip’s neck and the revelation about his son. Bankruptcy?

grumiosmum · 21/08/2019 18:07

When do we think Lexi's baby is due?

She seems to have been pregnant for ever.

MikeUniformMike · 21/08/2019 18:19

Can she stay pregnant forever please.

BuckingFrolics · 21/08/2019 18:25

The all the stalled storylines, it's as thought the SWs get paid for introducing new SLs rather than "finishing" (or indeed, progressing) them.

One can imagine the "600 quid for a story we introduce" bonus payment scheme!

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/08/2019 18:29

I hope they'll shelve the whole lexibabeh s/l. Agree with the others that it was Woke Central when Iananadam announced it, I was enraged.

Of course, it's likely to be a Brexit Babeh - good luck getting a foreign born baby with a non-british mother into Ambridge once Boris throws us off the cliff.

MrsGrindah · 21/08/2019 19:11

What fresh hell is this?!

Helenluvsrob · 21/08/2019 19:11

Is Brine winding moike up?
😂

Eastie77 · 21/08/2019 19:11

God this is excruciating!

Helenluvsrob · 21/08/2019 19:13

😂😂😂

MrsGrindah · 21/08/2019 19:13

That was hilarious wasn’t it.

MrsGrindah · 21/08/2019 19:14

Not.

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/08/2019 19:23

Jenny the agony aunt - couldn't see that one coming (yawn).

MikeUniformMike · 21/08/2019 19:32

It was Neeyull not Moike.

R4 · 21/08/2019 19:41

I thought that it was David's job to field Brian's awkward confessions. Have his services been dispensed with?

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/08/2019 19:43

Gosh. The SWs are slipping up. They would normally have strung that out for at least six months of Hilarious Misunderstandings.

Although we can still look forward to Brine explaining to Neeyull that his virility is, after all, unimpaired.

C8H10N4O2 · 21/08/2019 20:19

Gosh. The SWs are slipping up. They would normally have strung that out for at least six months of Hilarious Misunderstandings

We can only be grateful for small mercies. That could have been a funny episode instead it was excruciating - Brian isn't usually as ham fisted as that so I'm chalking that up to bad scripting.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 21/08/2019 20:23

I see Neil is keeping Susan's chilli recipe to himself.

grumiosmum · 21/08/2019 20:24

Has anyone been keeping tabs on Lexi's incubation period?

Whabylon makes a good point re Brexit baby.

Maybe it was supposed to be born shortly after March 31st ... and the SWs were thwarted by Theresa May. Perhaps it will be a No Deal Halloween babe instead.

MikeUniformMike · 21/08/2019 21:02

I have a feeling the behbeh was due in October. Baby Boris will be overdue and will be a November baby.

Eastie77 · 21/08/2019 21:13

Since when does Brine get drunkConfusedRidiculously out of character that he'd talk to Neil about such an intimate subject anyway, drunk or sober. Surely he'd worry that Neil would let it slip to Susan and then that's game over.

MereDintofPandiculation · 21/08/2019 22:08

I note the brandy was very much in evidence. Do you think Brian and Jenny have special brandy glasses?

FreezerBird · 21/08/2019 22:20

I definitely thought the brandy glass reference was a nod to Emma's aspirations.
