I had exactly the same thought DDD - I thought it was a little change counting in joke.

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2019 19:23

Good old Kenton. It needed to be said. Poor Freddie, I hope he ends up at Aunty Shula's.

GabrielleNelson · 15/05/2019 20:36

Here's the sketch. It's wonderful.

LassOfFyvie · 15/05/2019 20:40

I actually blame Elizabeth for the hidden tour disaster. Her comments about not knowing about pricing were absurd.

Lots of stately homes and historic buildings have optional add ons. If the main house and gardens is say £15 ( just checked the price of local very grand house) the hidden tour should have been £2- £3, £5 absolute maximum , on top of that.

And what money needed to be spent on it beyond adding some blurb and a few photos to the website and an extra ticket price on the door?

DadDadDad · 15/05/2019 20:43

Anyway, who needs to hear change-counting when that scene with Freddie gave us the sound of massive pennies dropping? Grin

Is Elizabeth going to react with anger towards Kenton for telling him or will she accept an offer from Freddie to move out or will she have a breakdown about the whole thing?

Hello, DDD! I'm around at the moment. Will try to remember I'm on threadstarting duty this time. Grin

There are a few ideas for a title here and there on this thread - any more for any more?

I glanced at the Game of Farms thread. I was a lot more active then than I've been recently. Still using my favourite username, which I changed a year or so ago and still miss. Sad Maybe I should go back to it.

InkySplatter · 15/05/2019 21:37

I paid (a little) more than that last week for a slice of lovely organic carrot cake. My 3 year old had been obsessing over the notion of carrot cake but my youngest is allergic to carrots so couldn't see the point in making one. I tried him on some today hoping he'd grow out of it and he has, so I'm thrilled to bits. Maybe we'll make on to celebrate. Cake

I feel sorry for Ed and Emmur but feel like Ed has gone too far down the wrong path already. He's broken too many rules now. He's aware that there's potential for violence, he has let down a client and let down a friend in need. His priorities have shifted and I don't see how this can go unpunished. Would they? Could they? Let them get the house and then incarcerate Ed, just maximise the damage. Leave Emma with a mortgage she can't pay and no savings? The Freddie drugs saga was such a slow burn, I was anticipating the worst when he and Jonny were at Isle of Wight festival.

Penny dropped DDD Grin I didn't lol but I did a rather ungracious snort with glee. I too had a moment over contactless. Confused

I think Kenton had better sleep with one eye open, Lizzie is not going to be happy.

echt · 15/05/2019 21:57

All of them, but strung out over weeks.

birdsdestiny · 15/05/2019 21:58

I am not sure Freddie will tell his mum that he knows I think he will engineer a row.

Thing1thing2thing3 · 15/05/2019 22:31

Birds, if Freddie engineers a row I will cry.

DadDadDad · 15/05/2019 23:06

echt - when I wrote my question, it occurred to me the SWs might wring out all the drama they could from this, so I suspect your answer is right!

My DD asked me earlier this evening for 80p to pay back a friend at school, and I used it as an opportunity to offload my copper coins, so did some jolly change counting of my own. Smile

Well, quite. A 5 minute Google should have done it. Maybe 10, if you're being thorough.

The sound FX people will still be in work. They just have to beep rather than rattle change.

LizziesTwin · 16/05/2019 07:46

At some point Lizzie is going to have to open up the books and show them to Lily & Freddie. They are both at home ‘supporting’ her. Are they paying Russ a salary for working in the gallery or is he taking a commission on sales?

GeorgeTheBleeder · 16/05/2019 07:46

Goodbye Joe Grundy, founder of an Ambridge dynasty. What remains for Eddie, Clarrie, Will, Ed, Emma, George, Keira and Poppy - acts of pennants or a triumphant rise out of their mythical oppression?

Annoyingly lacking in poetry ...

(And I also think Mia (if not Jake too) will become important later on - I feel bad leaving them out of the dynastic list.)

BuckingFrolics · 16/05/2019 07:53

Something about "going" in the next thread title?

Has Will gone beyond the pale, Ed is going down the wrong path, Tash has gone to ground, Mia's gone home, and dear Joe has gone forever

CodenameVillanelle · 16/05/2019 08:13

Freddie has really grown up since prison. Elizabeth is going to be angry but he needed to know!

C8H10N4O2 · 16/05/2019 08:21

Freddie has really grown up since prison

Really? Most of the time he has sounded like the same whiney, entitled, self centred drug dealer who went in.

He still hasn't really accepted he ended up in prison due entirely to his own greed. He doesn't even have the tenuous excuse of committing a crime to support a family - it was to pay for his shark cage trips!

DadDadDad · 16/05/2019 08:22

If Freddie thinks carefully, he could steer a conversation to get Elizabeth to admit the truth without revealing that he has already been told by Kenton. But that requires a fair bit of emotional intelligence, and I guess Elizabeth will still be tied in emotional knots.

C8H10N4O2 · 16/05/2019 08:23

Sorry premature posting I meant to add:

Elizabeth is going to be angry but he needed to know!

I agree with this - he does need to know as part of facing up to the problems he has caused but also in terms of starting to learn some responsibility for the place which everyone else is running for his benefit.

R4 · 16/05/2019 08:25

How long will the next thread last, D^3? We ought to celebrate Edward Kelsey but we ought to celebrate June Spencer too (DoB 14.06.19).

Re LL: where are The Trustees? They seem to be asleep on the job.

GabrielleNelson · 16/05/2019 08:32

DDD is the expert here, of course, but I note that this one started on 1st May so I think we'll be on a new thread by the time of June Spencer's big day. Telegram from the Queen, I assume! What an achievement.

We don't know, though, that Joe's demise has been scheduled for this month. The SWs may find it more convenient to have him go silent for a bit and then have Clarrie or Eddie find him in bed or in his chair ... Sad

GeorgeTheBleeder · 16/05/2019 08:33

we ought to celebrate June Spencer too (DoB 14.06.19)

And still working. Star Star Star She should have all the threads.

(I’m on a thread atm where someone in their mid-thirties is asking for a list of things she should stop wearing now she’s almost middle aged. Angry )

When I grow up I want to be June Spencer. Or, more pertinently, one of the numerous female artists and writers who completely blossom in triumphant (again!) Old Age.

LillianGish · 16/05/2019 08:37

Fast falls the eventide for Joe Grundy, the darkness deepens for Ed - will he get off the fence or is it too late for acts of pennants? Abide with us and discuss The Archers

LassOfFyvie · 16/05/2019 08:40

Mia and Jake aren't Grundys. I can't see much reason for their continuing to be part of Ambridge.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 16/05/2019 08:51

They will stay if they form relationships of their own.

When considering new love interests, the SW need to find people who are not biologically related to most of the other young people in the village so I think it quite likely they will be back.
