Getting a bit tired of the Lee - Helen storyline now. Someone needs to put him properly in the picture about her past.

ppeatfruit · 06/03/2019 20:00

If Freddie DID go back to live at LL . They could make a big thing of NOT selling alk. The selling of non alk cocktails in a specific bar could be marketed carefully and be successful, the wedding catering would be cheaper . Kenton of course would say that Lizzie has to have a licence wouldn't he?

Oh I just remembered the LL own brand wine , so not such a good idea then , though The Bull could sell it.

BringbackCharlie · 06/03/2019 20:06

Congrats to all the regular posters.

Sometimes I am so annoyed/too busy to catch up, so i guess what might have happened by checking here. I miss The Lowfield.

I've tried to guess what might happen on Friday's "Fastest Wedding in the West" episode. Where is Usha when you need her (at a push, surely Anna Tregorran is on Bridge Farm speed-dial)!

Might go back to change my name to "wherestheprenup"!

JazzersJockcypigs · 06/03/2019 20:15

I've never namechanged before, and it turns out I can't even spell "Jock".

I love the way Johnny talks to his cows, it's what my Dad used to do. He'd say, "don't fuss, just tell them what to do" which is exactly what Johnny does.

JazzersMaw · 06/03/2019 20:29

Can I ask who was talking to Lee after Emma? I’m listening to the podcast again but it’s still unclear. I think it was Johnny but what did he say about Helen? Ta

DavidDavidDavid · 06/03/2019 20:35

Johnny was saying how Helen loves karate. It fazed Lee for a moment, because Johnny was talking about her still being keen, and of course, he thought he was referring to his relationship with Helen...

LillianandJustin · 06/03/2019 20:48

The alcohol license is a bit of a problem for LL - Freddie is eventually expected to inherit/take over, but would someone who has served a prison sentence for drug dealing ever be granted a licence? I know Elizabeth is depressed, but she must be able to see that she can’t just ignore the business - if LL doesn’t make money then she’ll back to square one where she and Nigel were When they started and she’ll be cast in the role of Julia trying to halt progress. What’s Freddie going to do at home anyway? He’d be much better off staying with Shula and working with the horses - in any case it’s only down the road. On the other hand I can see why Helen is avoiding having the talk with Lee - she’s got quite a lot to fill him in on.

JazzersMaw · 06/03/2019 20:54

Thanks, DDD. I was just coming back to say I’d managed to get it on third listen. Nobody would ever call me overinfested. Grin

Cromercrab · 06/03/2019 20:54

I would never book a wedding, party, conference at a dry venue. Wouldn't go to one either. LL without a licence is doomed.

Minimammoth · 06/03/2019 21:29

I have hopelessly lost my password to change my name.
But if I could it would be. JennifersSpareWok.
I’ll keep trying

thislidofullofdeadfish · 06/03/2019 21:37

You could take a hip flask Cromer.

In the unlikely event that I ever remarry, I wouldn't book a dry wedding either, despite the fact that I don't drink myself these days and have never been a big drinker. I do wish more places served a decent selection of non-alcoholic drinks though.

Lovely to see so many delurkers, welcome everyone, please stay!

Charlie, if you use the podcast app you don't have to listen, there is always a proper detailed summary that goes up after the second broadcast (although not always immediately, I can't see one for yesterday's episode yet).

thislidofullofdeadfish · 06/03/2019 21:38

FWIW I think Kirsty and Brian have unresolved sexual chemistry and you know what Brian’s like!

Going back an episode, I liked the walk-through of the mud patch that will be the affordable home, especially the bit where Will sussed that open plan meant one big room, to reduce costs (and amenity). And Justin clearly didn't know enough about the houses, or the affordable ones at least.

I foresee much trouble when they move in.

DavidDavidDavid · 06/03/2019 22:30

You mean, Ed, echt.. He was also concerned about side access. Is he planning to have a few sheep grazing in the back garden?

LeesPostersAreInFrames · 06/03/2019 22:31

I got locked out of number for a few days and I come back to p7 of thread 100, whoop!

Need to actually catch up a couple of days listening too.

DavidDavidDavid · 06/03/2019 22:34

In other news, I've put in a request to HQ for a badger smiley, as that was the best-supported option. Please come and lend your support.

Sorry, if you click on that link you'll need to scroll back a few posts to see my appeal to MNHQ.

OneOfThoseButtonGirls · 06/03/2019 23:42

The alcohol licence is a huge problem. At the risk of being seen as unsympathetic I'm falling to see what the big deal is with an 18/19 year old not living at home. It's not as if he won't be near.

I'm also a bit irritated at the poor Freddy he's so traumatised and badly treated line. It sort of obscures the fact he was convicted of dealing drugs. (Should admit I don't much like Elizabeth and Lily is at the moment even more annoying than Pip)

scrappydappydoo · 06/03/2019 23:44

Delurking to wonder what’s going on with Ambridge musical houses? First Brian & Jenny & Kate Hmm then Ed n emur therefore Clarrie/Eddie/Joe, Kirsty and now potentially the loss of lower loxley so would that mean Elizabeth et al moving on... and I can’t imagine the whole

scrappydappydoo · 06/03/2019 23:46

Oops pressed post accidentally...
And I can’t imagine the whole Tom, Natasha and Hannah living arrangements are going to last long.

EBearhug · 07/03/2019 02:20

He was also concerned about side access.

I have to get to my garden through the house (mid-terrace, backing on to a steep railway cutting.) I think Ed''s concerns are reasonable.

DoctorTwo · 07/03/2019 04:31

I'm not sure I'm going to get used to being called Dave. (only Kenton calls me that, I think). Just hoping we don't get to the 2001: A Space Odyssey quotes.

Have you never seen League of Gentlemen Dave? :o

echt · 07/03/2019 05:54

Thanks DDD. I always get the names of the chaps wrong. You may be on the right track about sheep having to fit down the side return. Ed was remarkably vague in a counting for the need for decent access.
