I wonder where Brian and Jennifer will end up. I was very taken with the idea on the last thread that the mysterious Gills won't last very long and the house will be sold back to the Aldridges at a knockdown price.

Re Roy, from Carol Tregorran. Carol guessed from Lizzie's behaviour (can't remember what the circumstances were) that there was something going on. Carol commented something about "the Tucker boy" and it being understandable.

Adam must be very attractive because he is gay.

But Ian isn't - leastwise, not in a phoaw on the basis of a photo sort of way. Ian is attractive because of his personality. Adam always sounds so weary that he's about as attractive as a cup of cocoa. (He is allegedly a redhead but he sounds dark-haired to me - not sure why.)

Well, he gets a lot of sex, doesn't he? And it certainly isn't because of his marvellous personality and scintillating wit. Whereas Ian never seems to get a whisper of anyone hurling their CKs in his direction, despite working in the hospitality industry in which gay men are rather over-represented.

I have perfected the technique of radio listening while vacuuming. I phone in pocket, head phones on, works a treat.

Oh ok, maybe Pip is on a par with Phoebe and Alice. Though, Alice is with Chris Carter who is definitely hot. I think she's attractive rather than pretty though.

With Pip I've always thought her competence and self-assuredness were her attractive qualities (people outside the family wouldn't see the spoilt bratness). Perhaps because of that I've always thought of her as sensible-looking and a bit cute, with indeed, a sense of being game for... quite a lot.

I think of Kate as the prettiest of the Aldridge girls. Debbie seems more 'handsome'.

Lizzie always seemed both pretty and sexy, and very self-assured as a young woman.

I don't think Ian or Adam is especially good-looking (this isn't television) but maybe Adam a bit more so, to make up for the perpetual grumpiness.

I still cannot equate Roy's demeanour with being good-looking.

I'm not going get into what they actually look like, other than what we've been told, as then I'd have to tell you that you're wrong

Oh ok then, Adam can be ruggedly handsome (and laconic). I suppose they needed a 'why is he single?' hook on his return and, his Dad was probably ruggedly handsome with a certain je ne sais quoi , to pull young Jenny!

I think Kate and Lizzie are very pretty and very feminine looking but fey.

Alice , Pip and Debbie look like the young women you see at game fairs and agricultural shows. They are healthy , attractive and well-scrubbed but not eye- catchingly pretty like the young Kate or Lizzie were. They will have good hair. They wear moleskin jeans in mustard, red or pink or tweed miniskirts- both of which will be slightly too tight.

Fallon and Phoebe I think of as very pretty and feminine too but more robust and less fey than Kate and Lizzie.

Helen looks like Sally Phillips

Ruari is posh boy pretty (not an insult - I'm a big fan of Merchant Ivory pretty posh boys)

I agree re demeanour. I'm taking Carol Tregorran's word for it.

I'm assuming that Johnny is good looking given who his parents are.

Oh yes, Johnny is boyish but will grow into being gorgeous at 22-5.

Fallon, like Jolene (but a bit less so) is quite large-busted and more 'obvious' than Kate, Lizzie or Helen.

Emma is very attractive, like Susan but not elegant, or very tall.

I think Pip is probably rather sturdy.

Emma used to be pretty in a vapid way, but years of discontentment means she now has a face like an angry rodent.

Pip is short and square with an unflattering Bob, She looks like a Lego person.

Kristy and Fallon look similar, neither are, objectivity, that attractive, but they have charm and a spark that makes up for that.

Helen is attractive, but there is something about her that is strangely repellent.
Johnny is not half as attractive as he thinks he is and has very hairy arms.

Not sure if this was done elsewhere, but wasn’t it weird when the keys were handed over, Jennifer went with Peggy and that was it? Brian not there, no kids to say “bye bye house”? I’ve lived in dozens of houses, none for more than 5 years, but we still take a moment when we leave.

I disagree that Kate is going grey - I’m sure she no older then me.

Brian once said to Jennifer that she was slim as a bluebell (if memory serves me). I thought that

I think she's turned 40, so I suppose she might well have some grey - but she'd use some sort of vegetable hair dye to cover it.

Though mentioning dye has reminded me, surely the description of Kate is 'raddled'?
