Archers Thanks to LilG for the title, and DDD for starting the last thread and the tradition of the thread starter nominating the next thread starter Grin

Lurkers are always welcome to unlurk and join in, including asking questions of the many very knowledgeable posters with a long Archers-listening history.

Don't post spoilers based on forthcoming plot synopses that you've read, there's another thread for that (and we'd love to see you over there). Once an episode has aired then it's fair game. Archers

My keyboard seems to be adding "ess" to everything. Needless to say, that post should have referred to Lee.

TheEfficientBaxter · 02/11/2018 14:59

I just hope Toby never decides to build a treehouse for Rosie.

That could have very unfortunate consequences indeed....

witchmountain · 02/11/2018 19:06

I'm not enjoying all this foreshadowing about who's going up on the walk...

DadDadDad · 02/11/2018 19:24

What was that all about? Just another item to go on Elizabeth's list "why I'm overdue a breakdown".

Mootsie · 02/11/2018 19:31

Great twist. I was expecting an accident. Is Lower Loxley on the road to bankruptcy?

Fed up with the Ben/Ruairi shenanigans. We've just had a lawbreaking over indulged teenager storyline.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 02/11/2018 19:34

That made me cross. She’s going through enough as it is.

And too much to lever in the parallel story of Ben and Ruarie in the same episode.

Too many stressful bad news stories on top of almost universally dismal news in real life.

witchmountain · 02/11/2018 19:40

Well I'm glad no one's dead. Yet.

birdsdestiny · 02/11/2018 19:51

I didn't like that either. Is she going to go beserk and sack Geraldine. It's too much.

glamorousgrandmother · 02/11/2018 20:21

Having the Lower Loxley and the joyriders in the same episode was so we would think Ben and Ruari were going to kill someone.

CathKidneyston · 02/11/2018 20:27

Surely the big story is that Ben and R ( can’t spell it) have finally broken free into the real world and proved that they actually exist? Also, does anyone else think the spooky display actually sounded really good?!

QuaterMiss · 02/11/2018 20:32

Are You Eh? Eye Are Eye is how Brian & Jenny spelled it.

Yes, it sounded amazing. People are so ungrateful ...

TheEfficientBaxter · 02/11/2018 20:43

I feel sorry for the badger. Beautiful creatures. Horribly persecuted.

DadDadDad · 02/11/2018 20:47

Oh my, there's a thought! Has anyone seen PseudoBADGER recently... Shock

TheMadGardener · 02/11/2018 20:57

Will this lead to a schism between Ben and Ruairi? I guess R will be off back to boarding school now.

I want to hear Ben interacting with Josh, Pip, David and Ruth, not just Ruairi.

LL Halloween horror actually sounded pretty cool but maybe not for the tiny tots. I expect Keira will now have screaming nightmares for a week and Emma will be out for blood.

TheMadGardener · 02/11/2018 21:00

Poor (fictitious) badger. I live in rural Devon and see far too many dead badgers by the roadside. Although at this time of year it's mainly squished pheasants, which have tiny brains and don't know the Green Cross Code.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 02/11/2018 21:43

I'm a very squeamish 50 something woman and I would have had the heebie jeebies about that performance! God knows what the toddlers made of it. All Elizabeth's fault. Understandable given her family difficulties recently, but having (a) lost her alcohol licence and (b) made the sensible decision to compensate by trying to attract families with children it was absolutely essential to ensure that their Halloween attractions were suitable for tots.

Having said that, was anyone else thinking of Legz Akimbo from the League of Gentlemen? Grin

PS Yes, Sam built the treehouse and David destroyed in a violent temper, to the mystification and distress of the children, who don't know about Ruth's dalliance with Sam, as far as I can recall.

PPS I love Bad Lynda.

echt · 02/11/2018 21:44

I think Lee is just being a good teacher of very young children. You have to spell it very slow and repetitively, it's not performance parenting.

I still reckon he should have them all bowing at the end of the class and calling him sensei.

On a diffrent tack, I thought Elizabeth's finessing of the horrowshow into a stunning victory, a superb disregard for possible consequences was worthy of Pip. Or Lily.

BikingBeatrix · 02/11/2018 22:11

I really can’t face weeks of Emmur being indignant.

QuaterMiss · 02/11/2018 22:56

I thought the Emma-explosion was a touch uncharacteristic (almost Hannah-esque in fact). Everyone knows Elizabeth is under pressure - not sure I believe Emma would have turned on her like that. (Roy, however ...)

LassWiADelicateAir · 02/11/2018 23:11

Wouldn't the super efficient Geraldine have checked what the actors were going to do before they did it?

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 02/11/2018 23:40

I was catching up earlier and also thinking how tedious Panto-Lynda is. It’s basically the same storyline every year and I just don’t buy it that everyone would put up with her. I spend all year getting back towards thinking she’s ok really and then November comes and I want her to meet David on a dark night. (What are her theatrical credentials? Does she have any, other than being Lynda?)

Thought the LL drama fail was predictable although the SW did a good job of signposting several possible disasters so I wasn’t sure which one I’d be able to say that about 😂

pretendingtowork1 · 03/11/2018 00:03

What happened?

Trappedin · 03/11/2018 01:46

Ruth copped off with the cow man in the treehouse.

witchmountain · 03/11/2018 06:02

What happened?

The Halloween performance at LL was too scary. Ben and Ruairi ran over a badger.

Apple doesn't fall far from tree. David must be So Proud of his younger son. Started his lifelong killing spree early.
