Archers

No, that's not a jokey exaggeration, this is really the 93rd thread in a series started by PseudoBadger five years ago! In fact, post number Star 90,000 Star in the "official" count will be made on this thread.

Archers

Lovers of The Archers welcome (along with the rest of us who have a more complicated relationship with the "TA" Smile).

One rule we try to stick to: No mentioning of future episode plotlines published in the Radio Times etc. However, once an episode has aired, say what you like!

Archers

What is going to happen to Freddie? And are we ever going to hear from Lily again?
I also am wondering what it will take for Kenton to apologise to Fallon...

I’m sick of Elizabeth fawning over Freddie.. she’s proud of him FFS!Hes so brave!
I know I’m a lone voice but I like Hannah. It’s time someone put Emma in her place ( who is perfectly capable of being nasty too)
Anyone else ready for the shocker of when Nics pie wins?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 27/09/2018 19:12

FFS Hannah.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 27/09/2018 19:14

FFS Elizabeth

CraicMammy · 27/09/2018 19:47

Freddie was eating porridge! 😂🤣😂

QuaterMiss · 27/09/2018 19:50

Why is that funny?

Angry

Porridge is cool.

Bloobs · 27/09/2018 20:02

Porridge means prison :o

QuaterMiss · 27/09/2018 20:12

I knew there was something I was missing!Grin

Poor Freddie.
Sad

KitchenFloor · 27/09/2018 20:44

What if Freddie's caught at LL? wouldn't that be bad for his sentencing?

Ghostontoast · 27/09/2018 20:58

Let’s hope Harrison doesn’t see him at LL.

BertrandRussell · 27/09/2018 20:59

Lizzie’s behaviour is just mind blowing.

MrsGrindah · 27/09/2018 21:05

And is it realistic what has happened re the new information that Freddie hasn’t given the police I.e. they’ve promised it won’t get out that Freddie told them and gone straight for Ellis? At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s given an MBE tomorrow instead of a custodial sentence ( but like when Helen was on trial but Rob got all the punishment)

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/09/2018 21:49

Boop Susan. I welled up there.

Hannah is just horrible. And mad. She has no redeeming features.

Oh and maybe the rules are different in England and Wales and Borsetshire but in Scotland you don't just plant trees on farmland. You need a planting consent and , if you're applying for grants (which you'd be mad not to check out) grant approval from the Forestry commission.

MereDintofPandiculation · 27/09/2018 21:55

Don't like Hannah either. I hope she ... falls into the slurry pit and makes a quick exit. Just to be clear - you mean a quick exit from TA not from the slurry pit?

Gersemi · 27/09/2018 23:47

I know Emma can be annoying, but Hannah's outright aggression and hostility about the karate sessions was totally gratuitous. She seems to want the idea to fail only because it's Emma's initiative - I suspect in other circumstances she'd have happily signed up for karate herself.

I was quite surprised Tom slept with her. She seemed to be offering to have sex with him purely because they were both at a loose end, so it all seemed very cold-blooded. Plus when you sleep with your flatmate there is a rather obvious potential for complications: if ultimately you want to end the relationship you still have to cope with living in the same house, unless you can terminate the tenancy early - and if it's a nice house/flt you may not want to give up the tenancy anyway.

Gersemi · 27/09/2018 23:47

flat, not flt.

Minimammoth · 28/09/2018 04:32

How old is Tom? It’s all a manipulation , but I am not sure what for exactly.

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2018 07:52

dairyfarmers Wasn't a portable milker called a stool? Grin.

I've just read about 'polyamory' in the Guardian , Hannah has obviously read it too! Not sure if Tom has.

LillianGish · 28/09/2018 08:06

I wondered for a moment there when she was talking about Neil if it might not be beyond the realms of possibility that Hannah was interfering in some way to make it look as if he had messed up. She's becoming TA's new pantomime villain just in time for Christmas (as Lynda has announced there won't be an Ambridge panto this year).

EBearhug · 28/09/2018 08:25

Lynda says there won't be a panto every year.

I think Tom's around 35 or so?

I am not against FWB arrangements per se, but it's unwise in the same household as mentioned upthread, and also, both parties should be in full agreement and with mutual understanding of the situation. Hannah has just railroaded Tom into this, like she's run out of batteries for her vibrator, so he'll do instead, and Tom doesn't really understand what's going on. When he slept with Kirsty after Helen's court case, he didn't really understand that wasn't starting things up again. Tom just isn't a casual sex sort of person, particularly if it's repeated. This will all end in tears, and while I don't really care about Tom, I think Hannah is totally using him, and she knows it, and realises Tom isn't as detached as all that, so her behaviour is out of order, though she will be pointing out, I told you it was just for convenience, when it all goes wrong.

I also don't like that she keeps going on about him having Natasha, when that is about the last thing he has. I will not be surprised if Natasha finally thaws but Hannah "casually" drops into the conversation that she's got an "arrangement" with Tom.

It

QuaterMiss · 28/09/2018 08:33

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Hannah has Bridge Farm inheritance plans for her as yet uncreated offspring ...

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2018 08:38

Yes I agree about Hannah Ebear. She's not good news.

I think that Lynda has some sort of mysterious idea to bring high brow culture "to the rednecks" Like a musical "soiree" or A Christmas poetry reading or some such that they'll all enjoy . NOT Hmm

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/09/2018 08:44

If the dobs on the website are the characters' not the actors' Tom was born on 25/2/1981, so 37.

witchmountain · 28/09/2018 08:48

That’s right Lass, and Helen is two years older. They are the only Archers ages I remember because of how they relate to my own age!

witchmountain · 28/09/2018 08:52

But why is Johnny being the new herdsman 'the best news of all'?
In addition to what’s been said above, because he was really excited about the idea when it was mentioned a few weeks back.
