As Frilly stress Lizzy out, did the SWs forget her heart defect? Will there be long term llama drama karma in The Archers?

Just back from holiday and been catching up while unpacking.
I do think Lizzie should have called Lily’s bluff and sent her to a hotel with Russ.
As PP said I expect his wife has sent him packing.

I think Johnny might be the one to make Freddy realise what an idiot he’s been and how serious his situation is. It’s interesting to see how their respective futures are panning out - Johnny has always had to get his head down and make the most of every opportunity while Freddy appeared to have a golden future thanks to the silver spoon in his mouth. If anyone can see what Freddie is throwing away it’s Johnny and I don’t think he’ll hold back from telling him. It’s a shame if Johnny has to miss his trip to South Africa, but at least he’s not looking at going to prison (and Johnny would be so much better equipped to endure a spell inside than Freddy). Re Jazzer organising Alistair’s birthday, anyone else think he might be planning some sort of casino night?

witchmountain · 05/09/2018 10:00

Jazzer knows about Alistair’s gambling now, Likian and was mortified to have undermined him by encouraging him before finding out.

EBearhug · 05/09/2018 10:16

Jazzer did pretty well with Fallon''s hen night. I think he can do similarly well for Alistair.

LillianGish · 05/09/2018 10:53

Had forgotten that Witchmountain - pleased to hear it too as I like Jazzer and Alistair.

TigerTeatimes · 05/09/2018 12:43

We've reached the point where Jazzer is the purest thing on the archers by a country mile.
Even in his dayglo trainers.

Mia's love for Peppa pig close second but that's a bit trite somehow.

PinaGrigio · 05/09/2018 13:37

#Team Jazzer all the way here. I was shouting at the radio for there to be a Graduate-style ending to the wedding episode and for Fallon and Jazzer to be grinning at each other on the bus (yes I know that would have made rubbish radio, but hey). I do want the SWs to have him happily settled (But NOT With Hannah) in the way that Sinbad went from scally to sensible family man in Brookside.

Agree also about Johnny. I have high hopes for him as the future of Bridge Farm once Helen's been flattened by a large round of cheese and Tom has gone off travelling permanently.

BTW, our local paper ran a story recently about a bloke who sold a Texel ram for upwards of £130k, so that made me re-evaluate somewhat Ed's decision not to accept £4k for Peppa Shock

PinaGrigio · 05/09/2018 14:48

Blimey - I'm clearly in the wrong job Grin Even more reason for Ed to hang on to Peppa, then!

LillianGish · 05/09/2018 15:00

That's how Emma's going to afford her house isn't it?

Mootsie · 05/09/2018 15:17

I'm really worried about that ram. There are only two reasons for it to be in existence. Providing the funds for Ed and Emma's dream home or featuring on Harrison's unsolved crimes list.

witchmountain · 05/09/2018 15:34

Third reason: to be the source of Ed and Emma’s next Crushing Disappointment.

C8H10N4O2 · 05/09/2018 16:56

If anyone can see what Freddie is throwing away it’s Johnny and I don’t think he’ll hold back from telling him.

Yes I agree but I think Johnny deserves better than being the prop for an entitled, whingeing Freddie. If I were Johnny's parent I'd be quite happy to see that connection fizzle out but I don't suppose it will.

Interesting also to see the MC Archers clustering together about the awfulness of the Police doing their job when its one of their own. Fallon was spot on with their likely reaction if Freddie had been sold drugs instead of dealing them.

C8H10N4O2 · 05/09/2018 16:58

I'm still trying to work out the point of Hannah at the moment

I'm assuming its because the editor thinks that the percentage of obnoxious, nasty characters is too low. I don't know why they brought back an old character when she bears no resemblance to the previous Hannah.

Gruach · 05/09/2018 17:07

I’ve been wondering about that! What was she like previously?

C8H10N4O2 · 05/09/2018 17:24

What was [Hannah] like previously?

My memory (which is not infallible) recalls a generally sensible, hardworking girl working with Tom's pigs and managing to reject Jazzer's lovesick advances without making him miserable. Generally liked I think. She had a crush on someone unavailable in the village but I can't remember who it was. I remember Brian trying to poach her and being turned down.

I can't remember if she left to pursue other opportunities.

Gruach · 05/09/2018 17:31

So she would have known Neil and Emma (at least to speak to,) before? Her last diatribe didn’t seem to indicate that. (I daresay the SW had forgotten ... Confused)

PinaGrigio · 05/09/2018 17:34

That matches my recollection too C8H. I certainly don't remember this mardy mare who seems to have reappeared, anyway. Perhaps the original Hannah has an identical evil twin.

I am convinced that that poor ram will not have a good end, unfortunately. Either Ed will sell it too cheaply and miss the profit, or he'll turn down a stonking offer and hold out for higher, during which time the ram will develop some unpleasantness which means it has to be put down.

wurzelburga · 05/09/2018 18:15

I wonder if Peppa is insured. Probably not knowing the Grundy’s luck.

birdsdestiny · 05/09/2018 18:20

Hannah is unpleasant but I could see why Neil might be getting on her nerves. We all know Neil is lovely, but putting aside the affordable homes stuff, what Hannah is experiencing is her senior constantly asking her to check work which he is unsure about. Whilst a second opinion is often a good thing, I can see why this might grate.

newtlover · 05/09/2018 19:09

a griddle pan and a tagine Shock

newtlover · 05/09/2018 19:16

aha, Kenton will bump into Russ in a dark lane and warn him off

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 05/09/2018 19:20

Kettle with three temperature settings! Grin He is insufferable. Poor Elizabeth.

cheminotte · 05/09/2018 19:27

Well our kettle has FOUR temperature settings! But it’s totally OTT for someone just starting out!

HatingTheBigShow · 05/09/2018 19:33

Lily really is dreadful. Lizzie is being a complete wet fish about it but I can't work how she's managed to raise two self-obsessed little brats.
