As Frilly stress Lizzy out, did the SWs forget her heart defect? Will there be long term llama drama karma in The Archers?

Thanks for the new thread

anappleadaykeeps · 29/08/2018 20:10

Has anyone commented on Ushar's advise to 'keep it quiet' yet....... omg who writes the script for this stuff?

Travelledtheworld · 29/08/2018 20:11

Thanks PseudoBadger.

DadDadDad isn't it time we had some statistics to cheer us up?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/08/2018 20:19

Thanks Pseudo

ADarkandStormyKnight · 29/08/2018 20:23

Thanks for the thread!

Grin

Indeed. And yes, at the end of the previous thread.

Thank you Pseudo! Flowers

DadDadDad · 29/08/2018 20:33

Yes, it was such a throwaway line from Lizzie about the reference being fine as long as no-one finds out, but I'm glad it's not just me who found that a bit alarming from a solicitor.

I don't think there are any interesting stats at the mo. Confused

ADarkandStormyKnight · 29/08/2018 20:43

Usha may have advised her more strongly but Lizzy can't hear that right now. Straws being thin on the ground.

Wasn't Shula bitchy about Alistair's running? I think she's bitter enough to want him to fail at this point.

C8H10N4O2 · 29/08/2018 20:55

[Re Helen's handy childcare] I just don't see how Helen can justify so many coffees with Ian etc

Helen met Ian last week and it was the first time in ages she had seen them according to their conversation.

I never had handy DGPs for this but watching friends who did the relationship seemed mutually happy. Parents could work and have a life occasionally DGPs enjoyed babysitting, the odd afternoon or the odd hour of wrap around care. More so where the extended family were living together - its not so long since extended family under one roof was the norm.

Helen is lucky with her nearby family but no more so than Will & Ed, Emmur, Pip and her parent's generation all of whom had just as much support and help as Helen, mostly without enduing a "Rob" first.

C8H10N4O2 · 29/08/2018 20:59

Yes I really hope so, the advice seemed very out of character for Usha, especially as she has been urging Freddie to tell all he knows.

Wasn't Shula bitchy about Alistair's running?

Yes horrible. Having decided unilaterally that they would divorce, and quickly and that Alastair would voluntarily be the "guilty party" its a bit of a shock that he isn't taking it lying down.

Does Jill know that StS was shagging the doc whilst supposedly engaged to Alastair? And that she has mooned around after others whilst married to Alastair?

witchmountain · 29/08/2018 21:07

Didn’t see that coming! Lovely to hear them laughing like that.

Thanks for the new thread.

EBearhug · 29/08/2018 21:10

I predict that someone will find out about Russ and the reference and Lily.

Minimammoth · 29/08/2018 21:20

Just joining in. Thank you oh Badger of the pseudo variety.

DeusEx · 29/08/2018 21:40

Checking in....

NotdeadyetBOING · 29/08/2018 22:15

Surely to God the llama storyline has run its course now. Please no more.

impostersyndrome · 29/08/2018 22:17

I thought the llama stealing story was ridiculous, as was the way Clarrie and Susan worked it out. Another silly story totally unlike real life.

On the other hand, Lizzie’s slight breathlessness seemed like a subtle hint at the strain she’s under. I still don’t buy her lack of reaction to the ghastly Russ, but some great acting.

And as for Shula's nastiness about Alastair. Just made me dislike the character more, which I suppose is what’s intended.

MrsArthurShappey · 30/08/2018 00:07

Thanks for the thread Pseudo, another inspired title!

I guess that's kind of my point: with Emma, for example, we only hear her without the kids when she's working, apart from on very rare date nights (I think they've had one this year) or it's likely they're with Ed/at school. Same for Will and Pip - I may not like the characters much or their lifestyle choices, but they do seem to use family childcare for them to be able to work rather than go out and have fun without their children.

Helen has had two coffee dates with Ian and an argument/ tea with Peggy, her Mum, and Jennifer (when Henry was on a play date but Jack was nowhere in evidence) this week.

I suppose I'm just irritated by Helen because the examples of bad behaviour we've heard from Henry are all pretty standard from a 7 year old but she seems to be reacting as though he's turned into a major league criminal. The only thing he's done that really overstepped the mark into something shocking was back chatting Clarrie, and Helen seemed to overlook that as though it were less important than kicking a ball where he shouldn't.

PseudoBadger · 30/08/2018 07:38

Many thanks to Dad et al for the main body of the title Smile

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo..

DadDadDad · 30/08/2018 07:47

The only problem with the thread title is every time I see I'm going to have my DD's playground chant going round my head: "sad llama, happy llama, ..." - anyone else familiar with that one (with actions)?

R4 · 30/08/2018 08:10

Never heard of it until now D3! Does it go like

Thanks pseudo

DadDadDad · 30/08/2018 08:30

R4 - a version of that (I don't think DD brings in other animals).

ppeatfruit · 30/08/2018 10:09

Thanks for the new thread Psuedo Lizzie's heart problem was mentioned by Freddie fairly recently when she nearly ate the hallucinogenic mushroom soup!

LillianGish · 30/08/2018 10:53

I think “It’ll be fine as long as no one finds out” was some pretty strong foreshadowing. This is Ambridge we are talking about - nothing stays hidden for long (apart from the missing bunting Grin).
