Thanks to all for the dog ideas, and special mention to Ppeatfruit.

The Christopher Carter actor is new.

Bibesia · 19/06/2018 13:45

Chris Carter actor has been around for well over a year?

MrsArthurShappey · 19/06/2018 14:22

Since March 2017 apparently. I can't get used to the completely different accent.

JessieMcJessie · 19/06/2018 16:26

Yeah Chris played by this actor was very vocal in all the stuff ages ago when Alice had that disastrous dinner party for Fallon and Harrison. He’s definitely had quite a few scenes with Susan too.

birdsdestiny · 19/06/2018 18:46

Oh I like that suggestion MrsArthur. A Sherlock Holmes type of deduction.

cheminotte · 19/06/2018 21:48

So we know Pip’s baby won’t be called Olivia or Noah then as Chris has effectively nabbed both of them.
I thought they over did the football, one reference would have been plenty.

BikingBeatrix · 19/06/2018 22:01

Of course we could have one of these Mumsnetty barneys like My relative has used the name we’d chosen, etc. .l hope not!

tillytrotter1 · 20/06/2018 00:26

I've only found this topic tonight and can't trawl through all the pages so are you Team Shula or Team Alistair? Personally, I'm Team Alistair, can't believe how sulky Shula set this separation going and is now getting shirty when Alistair wants to hurry it along!

JessieMcJessie · 20/06/2018 05:50

Team Al all the way. Shula is being ridiculous and quite cruel, IMHO. Good on Al for having a bit of fun with lusty Lavinia.

YouStacey · 20/06/2018 07:05

Team Al - will there be any for Yeam Smugula? Grin

birdsdestiny · 20/06/2018 07:44

As usual I am in a minority of one Smile I was team Justin not team Matt as well. It's not that I am on either side really but I certainly think Shula hasn't done anything wrong in wanting to end her marriage. Alistair was going to be hurt but I don't think that's a good enough reason to stay.

R4 · 20/06/2018 08:19

I'm on neither side because I can't get my head around this story. I don't believe that this is Shula acting in character. I haven't heard her successfully explained her reasoning to anyone therefore I don't understand what's going through her mind. It all seems implausible.
It's like the Great Move North, except that this time the SW seem to be going through with it.

Gruach · 20/06/2018 08:23

It's like the Great Move North, except that this time the SW seem to be going through with it.

But ...Shock The fact you can write this suggests exactly the opposite. They would not be so bold - surely?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/06/2018 08:42

Anisha and Rex seem a bit wobbly as well. Which one is being lined up for a new plot twist?

Will it be Pip and Rex, united at last, re-hashing the 'two brothers love the same lady' storyline.

Or will Anisha quit Ambridge giving Alistair the excuse to sell up and go on a veterinary world adventure (like the one Shula wanted to go on) and end up getting knighted for his services to animal welfare?

Bibesia · 20/06/2018 09:08

Objectively I don't think it's wrong for Shula to want to end her marriage, but to do so just because she's a bit bored seems weird, particularly when that's a state of affairs she could remedy in other ways. It does also feel a bit hypocritical in someone who professes to be such a committed Christian.

However, what really irritates me is her approach to the whole business - refusing to tell him why, moaning about how difficult it all is, being all hurt about Lavinia, and particularly going around as if she is the injured party and whinging about how horrible the mediation was. She needs to realise that if you force your husband into this situation you don't have the right to complain about how he deals with it.

Gruach · 20/06/2018 09:25

Yep, Knight - they seemed keen to indicate that Anisha felt either out of the loop or bored with the antics of Ambridge. I’d say she’s definitely on the way to somewhere else. (Particularly as she clearly doesn’t see her boyfriend as much of a prize ...)

R4 · 20/06/2018 09:36

Wasn't the Ruby/Monty/village fete conversation supposed to show that she is in the loop, even if we haven't heard her speak since forever.
I won't miss her if she goes. She's far too abrasive for my liking.

JessieMcJessie · 20/06/2018 11:16

Agree wholeheartedly with Bibesia. It’s not that she wants to end the marriage that is annoying-that’s entirely understandable- it’s the way she’s behaving now. She wants to have her cake and eat it. Preferably Jill’s lemon drizzle cake.

BertrandRussell · 20/06/2018 16:09

I don't like Shula or Alasdair. Or it's more I can't summon up the enthusiasm to like or dislike either of them. But I'm team Shula in terms of leaving him if that's how she feels, even though she is. Wing a bit of a dick about how she's doing it. She's put up with sooo much crap from Alasdair in the past with not much in return.

Gruach · 20/06/2018 19:08

Ok. He is definitely different. Toby I mean. Just don’t have the mental energy to look up cast changes ...

Etino · 20/06/2018 19:14

Eugh that is so trashy of Kate. She really is a sociopath.

YouStacey · 20/06/2018 19:18

I think it's the same Toby actor

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/06/2018 19:26

Soooo, Kate.

Upduffed, do we think?

I don't think there's ever been a 'two Archer women pregnant by the same man' s/l, has there?

Gruach · 20/06/2018 19:27

Perhaps it’s just his delivery that’s different? Dunno ... His voice just feels unfamiliar.

BertrandRussell · 20/06/2018 19:28

I really wish I had the self control to give up the The Archers. It’s getting more ridiculous every day
