Most people in soaps are incredibly fertile, unless they are happily married. Anyone else will fall pregnant or at least worry about it if they have a one night stand or fling. Lavinia is probably carrying a mini Lloyd.

Didn't Jazzer say she was quite fit. Jazzer's probably in his late 30s so she could be somewhere between 35 and 45? I got the impression she would be younger than Alistair who is mid 50s I think.

She had her 40th last year where she asked them all to give her the gift of telling her what they thought of her. A foolproof idea.

Eccles may not have been mentioned recently but I have heard his sound effect him (or his successor?) in recent times.

But Kate with fairchild would be a great story with lasting implications. We don't know if Lexi will have a child, so it would keep Jennydarling occupied. And it would put Pip's nose out of joint.

In my head Lavinia is a well-preserved & immaculately coiffed & manicured 51-year-old.

With a penchant for tight white jeans when she's not wearing trousers.

Poor, poor Phoebe. Imagine Kate being your mother. How embarrassing.

Phoebe has an amazing array of people around her.

Roy - flawed but a good dad, nonetheless. Down to earth. Hardworking.

Hayley - brilliant stepmother. Pretty much raised her from a young age.

Jennifer - spoils her rotten but gives her unconditional love, supports her academic ambitions and also offers a backstop of material security.

Plus an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins - wide choice of people to go to, none of whom are in any way deluded about Kate or try to make her feel that Kate is her problem.

That may be true but I am afraid none of that will compensate for her mother disappearing out of her life regularly. However I think that it is her behaviour towards her children that is Kate's flaw not how she lives her life. Kate has shagged Toby, but she is single and so is he. It may be embarassing but I imagine no more so than discovering your dad is shagging Elizabeth whilst married to the only mother figure you have ever known.
