Anyone else wonder if Ruth’s danger pursuits birthday present signalled a fatal accident ahead? One in one out with Pip’s new baby and after everyone had told her how safe it would be and Jill had elevated her to daughter with her heirloom brooch. I wondered if Toby might be with Kate, but that wouldn’t tally with him being stone cold sober - it’s only a matter of time before he and Pip get back together and Toby and Kate might help focus her feelings in the way that Alistair and Lavinia didn’t for Shula.

I thought last night's episode was fortelling the demise of Jill.

Lights in the cricket pavilion were Alastair Lilian he was painting it in the evenings as a reason to escape the claustrophobia of Jim’s house.

I had great trouble identifying the male voices. I thought it was Tobee talking baby names but now understand it was Chris. Maybe he give ideas to Pip and Tobee.
