Thanks to all for the dog ideas, and special mention to Ppeatfruit.

The occasional foray into hobby cooking isn’t comparable to the day in day out grind of feeding a family.

Nail on head there, Beatrix.

cheminotte · 16/06/2018 21:54

I was going to say that Beatrix - baking is not the same as cooking.
I also like Ruth.

Fink · 16/06/2018 22:15

I think we've heard Roy cooking for Lexie and Kirsty several times, haven't we?

I mostly quite like Ruth, especially when Pip's not around.

LillianGish · 16/06/2018 22:33

The only people who ever cook or do anything even remotely house related at Brookfield are Jill, Ruth and Pip. Ben’s reorganisation of the cereal cupboard must surely count as house related.

campion · 16/06/2018 23:42

Jennifer's always preparing some meal or other or shooting party lunch, usually accompanied by the sound of carrots being chopped.

Gruach · 17/06/2018 08:26

Have missed most of this week (and that part of the thread) but I note that an hour after the omnibus the film Carmen Jones will be on BBC2. Starring Dorothy Dandridge.

Will be watching with interest ...

Minimammoth · 17/06/2018 10:26

Lordy, I hope it’s not twins.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/06/2018 10:55

Shock She's had a few scans, though. Surely cases of surprise twins must now be vanishingly rare?

Not that that would deter the SWs, though. They only have a loose attachment to realism. If the urge to put a ludicrous plot twist is stronger, bye bye facts.

Minimammoth · 17/06/2018 11:22

Yes they will come up with something like ‘one was hiding behind the other’

Minimammoth · 17/06/2018 11:23

Ooo I love Carmen Jones. < gets song sheet out>

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/06/2018 11:40

It's not quite the same thing but my daughter was breech and nobody picked that up till I was in labour. She was also pretty big (9lbs+) so I don't think it was a case of turning at the last minute - no room!

Bibesia · 17/06/2018 16:26

The thought of two mini-Pips is too horrifying to contemplate.

The thought of two mini-Pips is too horrifying to contemplate

Oh I don't know, Pip having two mini-Pips to deal with sounds like poetic justice to me.

HatingTheBigShow · 17/06/2018 21:55

It sounds like Toby has gone to Brighton.

Fink · 17/06/2018 22:11

It sounds like Toby has gone to Brighton.

I was thinking he might be about to be found with Kate on the pile of visitors' coats. Poor Jill would walk in to find the same Fairbrother sperm which caused the Blessed Pip's downfall also staining her jacket. Bleurgh.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 17/06/2018 22:12

I was thinking Toby and Kate in a yurt.

Thank goodness the goats haven’t arrived yet.

HatingTheBigShow · 17/06/2018 22:54

Ooh I hadn't thought of Kate. I suppose Pip can't complain (although I'm sure she will) - she was adamant that she didn't want to be in a relationship with him again.

JessieMcJessie · 17/06/2018 22:59

Yeah I reckon Tobes was shagging Kate.

TumbleTussocks · 18/06/2018 02:53

No - I think there's going to be a misunderstanding. Gentleman Tobes will have been helping a very drunk Kate to the safety of her bed but will be seen and folk will jump to the wrong conclusion.

HatingTheBigShow · 18/06/2018 09:49

Argh, no, Tumble has it...and Pip is going to be all upset, then realising that she's upset because deep down she lurrrrves him really and they're going to get back together again and we'll have to hear more of horny, loved up Pip. Yuck.

MrsArthurShappey · 18/06/2018 11:06

Kate and Toby have shagged before haven't they? At the party where he out that sheep dye stuff in the pool at Home Farm.

BertrandRussell · 18/06/2018 11:15

Brighton. Got to be Brighton, surely?

MrsArthurShappey · 18/06/2018 12:21

I can't believe no-one's mentioned the sound of David eating soup [vom]

5000FingersofDrT · 18/06/2018 12:42

MrsArthurShappey Yes, indeed they have. A grim moment.

MrsArthurShappey · 18/06/2018 12:46

5000 Kate and Toby or David eating soup? Grin
