We never thought we’d feel sorry for Will. Although of course it should have been Pip! Discuss The Archers here (Titled edited by MNHQ)

Welcome all! I was really touched by the potential for Ed and Will to reconcile. But wonder if Will can accept Ed’s support.

As ever, no spoilers here (there’s a thread for that) - discussion permitted as soon as the pm episode is broadcast.

I have found a photo of Freddie exactly as I imagine him. (Faith Connexion Fall 2018 if you’re interested ...)

Thank you for the new thread.

R4 · 02/03/2018 18:53

That is absolutely Freddie.Grin
I hope he's not going out tonight dressed like that.

buckingfrolicks · 02/03/2018 19:00

Having a Toby crush.

I think Pip secretly wants shot of the baby now that the reality has dawned. I think possibly somehow she's leaving the gliding as late as poss to maximise the potential for early delivery/late miscarriage.

Or, plane goes down, she goes into labour, Ruth and Toby deliver baby, Ruth warms 100% to Toby and thus is on board with Pip when Pip subsequently offers Toby primary parental role. This huge rift with Tony Ruth thingy and the old grannie.

He is a dinosaur, but plenty of men are dinosaurs without being Knob. Ed wasn't too keen on Emma working either - both boys are products of Eddie. They don't see their mother working as a positive thing in a career she loves - they see her having to prop up Eddie's fecklessness with a series of minimum wage jobs. They don't want to be their father. I think Ed sees Emma working at the chicken factory and Will saw Nic working at the pub as skivvying jobs. I don't think either of them would have such a problem if their wives were artisan cheesemakers or running their own business. Not sure why I am defending him really - I just feel that having known him since birth I can understand why he's turned out as he has and that allows me to cut him a bit of slack.

Vango · 02/03/2018 19:21

Accused her of ‘neglecting the children’.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/03/2018 19:23

Will is going to leave Ambridge - but for how long?*

*I'm thinking a few months sojourn at another shoot somewhere, probably facilitated by Justin.

Ooh, maybe he'll go and work for Charlie!?!

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/03/2018 19:24

And Gruach, that pic is Freddie to a T!

C8H10N4O2 · 02/03/2018 19:47

I don't think either of them would have such a problem if their wives were artisan cheesemakers or running their own business.

But at least two of Emma's jobs have been artisan/business running - she wasn't working for Fallon in the catering they were partners I thought?

I can entirely understand both boys not wanting to be Eddie but they are no different in wanting to dictate what the women do, Eddie is just less able to impose his wishes as he doesn't earn much. Both boys are misogynist dicks.

TeenTimesTwo · 02/03/2018 19:52

Did you notice that even in his grief Will assumed that Ed had said something to Clarrie to stir up trouble?

Minimammoth · 02/03/2018 19:57

If we don’t get rid of Pip before, I agree that Toe B will end up main parent carer.

Gruach · 02/03/2018 20:16

Lucky girl.

(Harmless!)

StarsBrokenAgain · 02/03/2018 20:17

Helen is currently also in Corrie. She doesn't sound that similar, but sometimes it's just like she going to start talking about Henwee in The Rovers Grin

Not sure if there are any other cross over people here.

DoctorTwo · 02/03/2018 21:06

I feel sorry for Will, it would take a heart of stone not to, but I really don't like him.

DadDadDad · 02/03/2018 21:16

Gruach - explain to a helpless man: why have you linked to something that looks like a slipper? And who pays £360 Shock for a piece of skimpy footwear?

C8H10N4O2 · 02/03/2018 21:24

And who pays £360 shock for a piece of skimpy footwear?

Trust me - you don't have to be a man to find that one incomprehensible

Gruach · 02/03/2018 21:26

DDD the first word is the name of the item, not just a literal description.

(Wanted to be fair, having provided Freddie with an outfit.)

Come back if you still have questions.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 02/03/2018 21:27

Here you all are

DadDadDad · 02/03/2018 21:34

Frilly. Mule. Light. Salmon. Soft. Lamb. Nappa. I know what each of those words mean individually (nappa is a type of leather, right?), it's just combining them to name a single thing that's baffling me. Confused

DadDadDad · 02/03/2018 21:36

And I don't think they do them in my size...

Gruach · 02/03/2018 21:53

Damn. I had a really witty reply - and someone emailed me and now I’ve forgotten it.

Freddie + Lily = Frilly.

(Lord this is slow-going ...)

(Grin)

ADarkandStormyKnight · 02/03/2018 21:55

Justin is reeling Brian into something. ...

MrsKwazii · 02/03/2018 22:38

Will was vile last year about women joining the cricket team and an arse when Nic started talking about wanting to get a job. He’s the kind of bloke who wants his wife in the kitchen so that he always knows where she is, and can swagger about with a ‘my wife doesn’t need to work because I’m such a good provider’ air. All about him, no thought about her.

Having said that, I do feel for the character - with complicated issues ahead looking after all of the children, running the house and working. Maybe Ed and Emma will move out of Grange Farm for Will and Poppy to move in. Or could they all live together?

MrsKwazii · 02/03/2018 22:39

‘They’ being all the Grundies at Grange Farm. If they could run a B&B there, are spare rooms going?

C8H10N4O2 · 02/03/2018 23:00

(nappa is a type of leather, right?)

I thought it was the valley where Californian wine came from.
