So it’s taken a sad, untimely death to bring me out of retirement. How I have missed you all Flowers

Oh my goodness.....I know what Nic did!!!! (Look away now if you don’t like spoilers) Grin.....

Nic stole some money out of Matt’s suicase to help fund Emma’s election campaign and has been battling with the guilt since he was run over. Definitely Grin.

I was very touched by the bit with Tony and Joe. I remember lying on my bed listening to the episode they lost John. I was 7 months pregnant with dd1 and I sobbed my heart out.

Vango · 26/02/2018 20:16

Connected to the suitcase though Francis? Yes?

C8H10N4O2 · 26/02/2018 20:19

Suitcase definitely a good prospect.

I think it had the head of one of the horses Matt sold.

MrsGrindah · 26/02/2018 20:34

In fact nobody sounds sufficiently upset in my opinion!

MrsGrindah · 26/02/2018 20:47

Re death bed confession.. Nic said something about she wasn’t going to a good place. So she must have felt guilty about something that was sufficiently bad, and she must have done it as opposed to just knowing about it. I don’t think it’s the Matt hit and run I think it’s

...............something else!

WhatwouldLyndaSnelldo · 26/02/2018 21:05

Nor mine! Eddie sounded positively chipper and Ed sounded inconvenienced.

Ffs Nic has just died in shocking circumstances and we had to listen to Ruth and Pip wittering on.

Would Ed and Emma really not have been to see Will yet?

SusanWalker · 26/02/2018 22:41

Could the confession be to do with Stefan?

Pips got some cheek. She can't do lambing or calving, Eddie is otherwise occupied and she dumps the planning and project management of the dairy on to her mum. That's the one thing she could have done for the farm while pregnant.

LassWiADelicateAir · 26/02/2018 22:42

But, given people saying that Joe was quite shocked maybe not. Although I thought that maybe he was shocked that she thought she was "bad".

He was only shocked at her saying she was bad in as much as he thought it was ridiculous thing to say without any basis. He dismissed that easily. Whatever came next shocked him.

Vango · 26/02/2018 22:48

Pips got some cheek. She can't do lambing or calving, Eddie is otherwise occupied and she dumps the planning and project management of the dairy on to her mum.

My eyes rolled to the back of my head listening to that exchange. Ruth sounded positively flattered that her daughter trusted her enough to allow her to take it on.

JessieMcJessie · 26/02/2018 23:15

What Vango said!
Pip was at her worst tonight.

And Ed sounded a bit disappointed that George has been tearful on the way to school - two full days after his stepmother died suddenly....come on, pull yourself together George!

Efferlunt · 26/02/2018 23:16

Nic saying she wasn’t going to a good place was just her saying she didn’t plan on dying wasn’t it?

I listen on off for the past five years and I still couldn’t place Nic at first.

C8H10N4O2 · 26/02/2018 23:19

Pip was at her worst tonight

My fingers were tingling with the urge to slap that smug, patronising little face. She doesn't have the excuse of being young enough to know everything any more.

And Ed sounded a bit disappointed that George has been tearful on the way to school

I thought he sounded more worried but its hard to tell with Ed. That said, how many of us do know what is normal reaction in a child the first time we have to deal with this situation?

Snuper · 26/02/2018 23:44

Could it be anything to do with Poppy's parentage? I can't remember what was going on back then...

EBearhug · 27/02/2018 00:42

Nic saying she wasn’t going to a good place was just her saying she didn’t plan on dying wasn’t it?

No, I think she understood what was happening and was feeling very guilty about something (whether or not the thing deserves that guilt.)

I thought it must be terrible to die with that sort of fear hanging over you.

FiveShelties · 27/02/2018 04:25

I am just wondering if Joe will pass on the secret in a whisper to Eddie when he dies and then Eddie will pass on etc etc. Could run for another 50 years.

Gruach · 27/02/2018 05:57

No-one will believe Joe.

They may find confirmatory evidence after he dies ...

GnotherGnu · 27/02/2018 08:09

I really don't understand why Ruth didn't point out to Pip that, with all the extra lambing, calving and milking she had no time to project-manage anything. It's not so long since she was having hysterics about managing any housework, and that was when Pip was available to help.

R4 · 27/02/2018 08:19

There was a lot of talk in the week before Nic's death about the silver frame for his Susan's photo. I wonder if Nic said something concerning a message about/from Susan? I hope it wasn't a "I've seen her, she's waiting for you" and Joe quickly goes to join her.Sad

Minimammoth · 27/02/2018 08:23

I obviously need to catch up.

MereDintofPandiculation · 27/02/2018 09:39

In fact nobody sounds sufficiently upset in my opinion! In my circle, several people have lost husbands or close friends, and I am amazed by how "normal' they seem - people are very good at holding it together in public, you don't know what's going on inside. (And even with family or friends, people often continue to "put on a brave face" because of the fear that if they let go, they won't get back together again).
