What do we want?
Realistic storylines!
When do we want them?
As soon as the writers see this!

That's a sad turn of events.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/02/2017 19:21

Far too early to say, but I wouldn't be surprised if this led Kirsty to leave Ambridge.

SaffyRosie · 12/02/2017 19:22

So sad for kirsty. Why did the scriptwriters make it happen to one of the nicer characters? Should have been odious Helen.

If they want to use a late miscarriage story why didn't they use Helen.

RandomDent · 12/02/2017 19:23

I think Helen's had enough bad luck!

Imbroglio · 12/02/2017 19:23
Sad
Vango · 12/02/2017 19:23

More likely it'll be the tragedy that brings Tom and Kirsty back together. When they both decide that a family and future together is what they both really want.

EsmesBees · 12/02/2017 19:26

Didn't listen tonight as was wrestling a small child into bed, and sounds like a good thing. I'm very fond of Kirsty and 24 wks pregnant. How very sad.

Northernlurker · 12/02/2017 19:30

Oh great! Sounds utterly miserable

Waterfeature · 12/02/2017 19:34

Awful storyline. Can't see where they're going with it. Just getting over a MC myself. Might have to switch off for a while Sad

Stickerrocks · 12/02/2017 19:36

I'm waiting for the emotional outburst from Kirsty as Tom desperately tries to say the right thing and fails miserably, because nobody can say the right thing. Kirsty will reject Helen she can't imagine how she feels and has two healthy children. Roy is the only one she can turn to.

Vango · 12/02/2017 19:37

Or Ruth.

JigglyTuff · 12/02/2017 19:37

Well that made me cry :(
Didn't see it coming at all but yes, I agree this will be the coming back together of Kirsty and Tom.

Abraiid2 · 12/02/2017 19:40

Poor Kirsty. She has had enough bad things happen to her.

Stickerrocks · 12/02/2017 19:42

Ruth will be too busy lambing. "Hang on Kirsty pet, I just need to turn these triplets...now what was it you wanted to talk about?"

TheAntiBoop · 12/02/2017 19:46

All the bad things that happened to Kirsty have been in ambridge and have involved Tom. Why would she stay?

Did they give a warning before?

yikesanotherbooboo · 12/02/2017 19:47

Really sad and as unexpected as it would be in real life,

PseudoBadger · 12/02/2017 19:47

I haven't listened. But imagine also the impact upon the Nuffield Scholar process for Tom.

OP posts:
Vango · 12/02/2017 19:50

I'm not sure Tom's at fault here Anti Hmm.

And it strikes me that the Bridge Farm Archers are more of a family to Kirsty than her own kith and kin.

TheAntiBoop · 12/02/2017 19:58

I wasn't saying he was - I said the situations all involved Tom. So when she thinks about the tragedies in her life he is always in there.

There has never been a suggestion that she is not close to her family either. I find Kirsty sticking around completely implausible. They may be desperate to keep the character but to me they would be better off letting her go and bringing in a new (well written and acted) character

Vango · 12/02/2017 20:03

So when she thinks about the tragedies in her life he is always in there.

Surely that's because she's so involved with the Archers?

As for her own family, they weren't even going to be at her non-wedding. Nor did she tell them the truth about the baby.

AuldHeathen · 12/02/2017 20:05

WTf, why can't the SWs, just for a change, have a positive story where a woman has a baby after a normal pregnancy and straightforward birth. While pregnancy loss IS common it's not that common in 2nd trimester, and we could really have done without the sadness. BF Archers have had enough awfulness of late - and, yes, I do include K in that. There have been a few uneventful pregnancies - I'm thinking Emma and Nicky. Is that all in the last decade?

TheAntiBoop · 12/02/2017 20:07

She's involved with the archers because of Tom

Her family were written out because that's how they deal with these things in soap land - there has never been a suggestion she didn't get on with them and she referred to her mum favourably while discussing the pregnancy

to me she is a bridge farm bolt on - not a character in her own right

AuldHeathen · 12/02/2017 20:09

Vango, her dad was there. He wanted to punch Tom. Quite right too, I'd say! I was wondering if Kirsty's parents would come to the hospital and bump into Tom and create a naive scene. I don't want K and Tom to get together.
Sad

Vango · 12/02/2017 20:10

And because it's 'soapland', she's lost the baby so that she and Tom can discover that what was originally a mistake turned out to be the one thing they wanted above all else.

AuldHeathen · 12/02/2017 20:12

That should be naice not naive. I think they!'d be very knowing in fact. I'm getting used to a new to me iPad which keeps doing it's own thing. And my remain middle aged!
