Happy New Year to you all.

OP posts:
SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 12/01/2017 19:12

Oh Helen you bloody idiot.

TheAntiBoop · 12/01/2017 19:13

Helen being selfish as usual. Her need to discuss it greater than her respect for Kirsty who clearly didn't want to tell her yet

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/01/2017 19:14

Go on, Roy, be the voice of reason!

Gherkinsmummy · 12/01/2017 19:14

Helen 😡

Stickerrocks · 12/01/2017 19:18

Helen is sounding saintly again. No wonder Kirsty fled.

Now I know why Lily hasn't spoken for years.

Vango · 12/01/2017 19:23

I'm disagreeing with everyone again!
Kirsty's more than 3 months pregnant. How does she think she's going to keep it to herself? Helen's supposed to be her best friend. God alive, Kirsty poked her nose into Helen's business enough times. And I'm sorry, but it's Tom's baby as much as it's hers, so like it or not, that baby's part of "the Bridge Farm lot".

TheAntiBoop · 12/01/2017 19:27

She must be showing by now so agree that she's foolish if she thinks she can hide it much longer. And I agree that she can't expect Tom not to talk to anyone close about it.

But if Helen was sensitive she would have realised Kirsty didn't want to discuss it. She raised it right at the end because she wanted to talk about it - not because she thought her friend needed to talk about it

Yes she is supposedly her best friend but I think Kirsty is right to be cautious of that family.

Trethew · 12/01/2017 19:32

I want to know what the connection is between Rob and Richard Locke, There was clearly some history when they met at Richard's housewarming drinkypoos but have not noticed any further developments. Thought something would come out around the trial

TheAntiBoop · 12/01/2017 19:40

That was a sw error and was admitted as such

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/01/2017 19:47

Yes, incredibly enough, the SWs had forgotten that Richard Locke did the DNA test when Rob refused to pay maintenance for Jess's baby on the grounds that he wasn't the father. They had also not grasped that no sensible health care professional would say on meeting a vaguely familiar looking stranger 'I know I've met you before somewhere - just hang on a minute, I'm sure I'll remember in a minute - now, was it when I worked in the VD clinic or during that stint at Broadmoor?' or similar.

R4 · 12/01/2017 19:58

I do wonder if Kirsty is going to change her mind about the baby.

Vango · 12/01/2017 20:00

I think Kirsty is right to be cautious of that family

Why Anti? And if she felt that strongly, why would she go ahead with the pregnancy right under their noses? Wouldn't that be massively unfair?

What ties does Kirsty have to Ambridge? Why is she there? She came back jobless and is renting a room from Roy. If she wanted to sever her connection with the Bridge Farm Archers then she'd have gone about things a lot differently surely?

She raised it right at the end because she wanted to talk about it - not because she thought her friend needed to talk about it

Kirsty spent months trying to coax Helen to talk about her situation. She prodded and cajoled, upsetting Helen and generally alienating herself. The pregnancy is established and proceeding. Kirsty has no family in Ambridge and no closer friend than Helen. Perhaps Helen believed that she could be a support?

TheAntiBoop · 12/01/2017 20:07

Well I think Kirsty coming back was a stupid sl! And the whole Helen/Kirsty bff thing was only ever one way traffic

And yes, if she has an issue with being back involved with the archers she should have run for the hills when she realised she was pregnant

The whole thing is nonsense so not sure any of it should be reasonable!

As for her meddling wrt Helen - she came back quite late in the sl and could see what was happening. The cajoling was to encourage Helen to see it. I think that's a bit different

PuppetInParadize · 12/01/2017 20:25

Na, it demonstrates a lack of insight that Helen didn't hesitate to mention that Tom told her. She tends to be quite naive and that's not something a few months in the clink is going to resolve. If nothing else, Helen could have stopped and had a think about how she felt when Rob told everyone about her pregnancy with Jack. Incidentally I got away with keeping my last pregnancy quiet till 16 weeks - then 2 colleagues guessed and I had to come clean. Considering it was my 4th I had quite some bump by then. It was good though not having to talk about it or answer silly/nosy questions. For various reasons it was a stressful pregnancy and I know how Kirsty feels in thinking almost nobody knows yet.

Vango · 12/01/2017 20:32

I think Helen's intentions were good.

TheAntiBoop · 12/01/2017 20:33

I don't think Helen is really capable of empathy tbh.

And note she didn't mention that she saw rob at the contact centre

IAmNotAUserNumber · 12/01/2017 20:37

Who thinks Lily has been resurrected for the sole purpose of taking the car for a spin when she threws a party next week and crashing into a tree in a drunken state?
Although I really hope that doesn't happen - too much drama

IAmNotAUserNumber · 12/01/2017 20:38

Perhaps the Brookfield situation is going to be the start of an elder abuse SL? Again, I hope not.

echt · 12/01/2017 20:49

Horrendously stupid plot twist to raise the ante and spin out conflict between Helen/Tom/Kirsty.

Tom had given his word not to speak about the pregnancy.

Helen was arrogant and unthinking to bring it up with Kirsty.

I know this is drama, but it isn't widely accepted that you never ask a woman if she's pregnant, always wait for them to announce it?

Bloody annoying.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 12/01/2017 21:05

I think Roy asked but it seemed absolutely right when he did. Boop Roy tonight too.

Who thinks Lily has been resurrected for the sole purpose of taking the car for a spin when she threws a party next week and crashing into a tree in a drunken state?
It's got flashing lights announcing it.

MrsKwazii · 12/01/2017 21:19

She speaks!

selsigfach · 12/01/2017 21:37

And she's more posh than Alice! Where do they find them?

Imbroglio · 12/01/2017 21:43

Am I a bad person for enjoying hearing Elizabeth's children being differently but equally horrid? I've never warmed to her.

cheminotte · 12/01/2017 21:53

I hope they remember to put the party on Facebook so everyone in Borsetshire can turn up.

Olympiathequeen · 12/01/2017 22:18

If Kirsty is so torn about having a baby with Tom why on earth didn't she get the MAP? Ok a passionate one night stand but in the cold light of day she must have been aware of the risk and could have gotten the pills. A bloody grown woman would have been a little more savvy ffs

I love the terrible twins for some strange reason.
