Happy New Year to you all.

OP posts:
Megatherium · 09/01/2017 10:29

I assume Helen gave Henry Rob's Christmas present, as we didn't hear any more about it?

Vango · 09/01/2017 10:56

I agree with you ppeat. Lots of mixed messages flying around.

TheAntiBoop · 09/01/2017 11:08

I don't think it's the first time someone has slept with an unsuitable ex. The physical attraction is harder to shake than the emotional!!

rightsofwomen · 09/01/2017 11:13

Just checking in. I've just started listening again having stopped when the Helen-Rob drama was going on.

I'm a bit behind (listened to 1/2 the omnibus from the week before last - the Xmas one), but will do my best to catch up. I mainly listen when I run.

Vango · 09/01/2017 11:17

No doubt Anti, which is probably why Helen's also behaving the way she is.

enochroot · 09/01/2017 11:19

She cut off Tom when he tried to intervene, she hasn't told anyone about Rob's other intrusions.
In other words, she's still excluding her family from the problem, thinks she can handle it herself and is leaving Rob a range of chinks to wriggle through and get back into her life.
She might dispense relationship wisdom to Ian, Johnny and Tom but she's still a fool when it comes to Rob.

MrsArthurShappey · 09/01/2017 11:41

Can I just say..... 'joint project'?!?!?!?!?! I'm glad Helen gave out shite to Tom, what an idiot that man is.

I wonder if Tom noticed Helen's reference to seeing Knob at Christmas - she didn't tell anyone about his little foot in the door trick did she?

cheminotte · 09/01/2017 12:44

Will she give Henry the present and say this is from Daddy or just say 'I got you this'?

Minimammoth · 09/01/2017 12:55

When is Tom off on his farming scholarship thingy? Or will he turn it down to be present at the birth( whether Kirsty wants him there is another matter.

TheAntiBoop · 09/01/2017 13:09

Maybe the sw have been watching that crappy Hugh grant film where he is a complete navel gazing prick throughout her pregnancy but they get back together because he was just finding the idea of fatherhood tough

I really hope they don't get back together once they have co parented for a bit. Especially when the baby is young

ppeatfruit · 09/01/2017 13:33

Tom is emotionally immature but he's not a knob monster. IMO he's like a lot of people who can't talk about their closest feelings. I think he has grown up since the jilting and Kirstie could do worse than settle down with him.

Everyone is allowed some mistakes surely. Kirstie is being two faced.

TheAntiBoop · 09/01/2017 13:40

I'm not sure his two failings with kirstie can be termed mistakes! Being cheated on, being able to forgive that and try again only to be jilted? Can you imagine what the relationship boards would say!!

80sWaistcoat · 09/01/2017 13:43

It would be more realistic if she let Rob back in - but I don't think its going to be as long running as that.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 09/01/2017 13:44

I don't think she's being two-faced! I think she was trying to do the right thing by telling him and letting him be involved, but he's demonstrating that he's still very emotionally unintelligent and crass. Don't want to move in with me as it would be weird seeing as we're not a couple? Ok then, let's get married! Who does that?

Also his hurt feelz at 'I would never leave you at the altar again' - yes maybe he feels he wouldn't do that, but you can hardly blame her for not taking that as a given! Kirsty can do much better than Tom, whether old or 'nu'.

EBearhug · 09/01/2017 13:47

I wonder if Tom noticed Helen's reference to seeing Knob at Christmas - she didn't tell anyone about his little foot in the door trick did she?

No - as far as anyone other than Caz is concerned, Helen hasn't seen Rob at all except for in the court.

ppeatfruit · 09/01/2017 13:48

He's a late developer emotionally (a lot of men are) If it were me I'd expect a bit of understanding ! Is he going to end up another singleton who doesn't want to be?

I feel sorry for him, I wouldn't wish on - line dating on him Grin

EBearhug · 09/01/2017 13:48

When is Tom off on his farming scholarship thingy?

Isn't it February or March?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 09/01/2017 14:03

He must be mid-30s by now though! And even if he was such a late developer he didn't know that jilting Kirsty at the altar might have been a tad upsetting, he's had it explained to him a few times now!

Frankly if he's a singleton who doesn't want to be, that's his look-out: it's certainly not up to Kirsty to be understanding and let him back in.

He's an arse - Pat and Tony don't seem to raise 'em any other way....

TheAntiBoop · 09/01/2017 14:09

Give him another chance? I don't believe love can overcome the hurt he has already caused her. He's feckless.

Im sure he will have a relationship - but I don't see why Kirsty should have that on her shoulders (her coming back to ambridge was totally ludicrous anyway). I'm not a believer in true and everlasting love!

ppeatfruit · 09/01/2017 14:21

Neither am I Anti That's why Tom should have another chance.

I just heard the afternoon's repeat of yesterday's, BOOP for Tracey's pursuit of Woy.

TheAntiBoop · 09/01/2017 14:55

I think Tom would be Kirsty's 'better than nothing' tbh

TheAntiBoop · 09/01/2017 14:57

What are we supposed to believe happened between Roy and Tracey on nye?

ppeatfruit · 09/01/2017 15:01

Oh we heard it , a longish kiss (that she instigated) Woy was trying to hide from her Grin

TheMortificadosDragon · 09/01/2017 15:02

Tom has already had another chance with Kirsty, and blew it in the worst way possible.

enochroot · 09/01/2017 15:24

Rob caused that flat tyre, didn't he?
