Well that was ridiculous. No way would Rex agree to Toby setting up a still at Hollowtree, knowing how set against him David is. He'd have just paid Eddie/Johnny/Pip/anyone for the day's work.

PuppetInParadize · 05/12/2016 21:52

That is sad news about Caroline/Sara.

I did wonder if Rex involved Josh deliberately, knowing he'd tell David about Tobee's still. So letting Rex off the hook. Although it was clearly useful to mention the Hollowtree idea to take attention away from whatever dishonest enterprise he/Josh is involved in.

enochroot · 05/12/2016 22:47

When Tobee mentioned that Pip had read the lease agreement was he implying that setting up the still at Hollowtree was her idea, at least in part?

TheAntiBoop · 05/12/2016 22:50

He can't set the still up at hollow tree and use it without a licence though. That would still be illegal after all.

The whole tobee pip sl just pisses me off and I just wish they would get rid of the pair of them

EBearhug · 06/12/2016 00:20

He needs an address before he can apply for a licence, though.

RockNRollNerd · 06/12/2016 07:44

Another one sad to hear about Sara Coward - I guess this explains the Tuscany storyline as presumably it gave a plausible reason for absences while she was having treatment.

TheAntiBoop · 06/12/2016 08:11

Do we believe he will actually apply for a licence?

It is sad about Sara. I hope Caroline is retired to Tuscany

redshoeblueshoe · 06/12/2016 08:58

Rex has proved he is just as stupid as Tobee. What bit of setting up a still without a licence is illegal do they not understand ?
Lets hope David decides to wait till they have done it, then call in the police, then evict Rex.

LillianGish · 06/12/2016 12:04

(despite the somewhat odd, though now at least explicable, personality change lately). Irreplaceable. Completely agree. I also really hope Caroline is retired to Tuscany for many happy years so she can live on in silence through updates via Shula. Pity it means we'll lose Oliver too though. There was a point when I thought Justin was being groomed as his replacement, but his reverting to hard-headed, rapist-employing businessman would rather rule him out.

ppeatfruit · 06/12/2016 13:39

Shame about the actress who plays Caro. I like her, she has a nice warmish sort of voice. I think she always had a streak of snobbishness though. But she has a good heart.

TheMortificadosDragon · 06/12/2016 18:05

“Use it, Kirsty! Use it! It’s what real actors do!”

TBF on Lynda, she was referring to Kirsty's dislike of Justin when she said that, wasnt she, not her ill-fated romance(s) with Tom as Nancy implied.

AnnieNoMouse · 06/12/2016 18:23

I expect so, and how nice of Pip to scrutinise the legal document her parents drew up to protect her family's land in order that she can screw them over on their own land Angry
I wonder what the lease actually says (assuming David didn't write it himself in which case it's probably written in block capitals and wax crayon and words of one syllable)? A gin factory wouldn't come under agricultural production but might come under food production, maybe?

Just realised, lizzie rejecting doclocks help choosing the car clearly wasn't because she felt confident to do it alone if she roped in Kenton.

Shallishanti · 06/12/2016 19:08

hmm, getting a licence?? won't that cost £1000s??

I hope we get a full performance of the pant some time over Christmas - I'm rather enjoying Kenton's camp rendition of Lynda's rhyming couplets!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/12/2016 19:14

panto

sigh

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/12/2016 19:16

And I wish the Dopeys would just cut off Pip. She's an arsehole and they've wasted enough of their time pining over her. She needs a dose of hard reality, not more pussyfooting. Spoilt brat.

As my family would confirm, I'm far too easily amused. I loved the panto rehearsal tonight. Grin

Thanks for the NBS link!

AnnieNoMouse · 06/12/2016 19:26

There's a comment under the NBS Guardian article saying that you only need a still ( and all the legal compliances that entails) if you're actually going to make your own gin; and that most hipster artisans gin-makers buy it in ready made and then just add stuff to it. So there'll still be a need to comply with various laws/licences but not the "operating a distillery" one.
