Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

Emma has had years of practice dealing with her mother.

I always feel that some of the archers characters must be a blast to play, Susan is definitely one of those and I love the fact that Charlotte Martin has a day job as a research psychologist.Grin

Could this be Rob's executive apartment?

Or this one above the pet shop?

TheAntiBoop · 14/11/2016 12:49

That would be great for him. Plentiful supply of small animals for him to torture in the evenings

ErrolTheDragon · 14/11/2016 13:01

I wonder if a couple of landlords are now going to get 'well, theres been a lot of interest in your property on the website...'

Vango · 14/11/2016 13:05

😁😁 I've just googled rentals, showing 'lowest price' first. There's a fully furnished studio flat that looks promising.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 14/11/2016 15:07

Trust Knob to think that reading a story to a 6 month old sleepy baby is in any way a useful activity.

Just wait till some (female) social worker looks at the executive apartment and points out that it's a useless environment for a small child ...

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/11/2016 15:12

I'm hoping that at the hearing the psychologist's report is so damning that he is never allowed near Gack again.

Then we can have the hostage-taking and shoot-out with Robocop Harrison.

TheAntiBoop · 14/11/2016 16:39

I suspect that knob being brought in to do Justin's dirty work will lead to us being stuck with him until whatever bad deeds they are up to come to fruition or fall apart. So we could be stuck with him for quite some time.

Tbh I don't need an out and out evil character. It's heavy handed

ErrolTheDragon · 14/11/2016 16:44

TBF he sang Baa baa black sheep quite nicely.

ExtraJumper · 14/11/2016 18:02

What is the next family court hearing about? I thought everything was done and dusted?

I also can't wait for the notice of Knob's attempt at Gack's name change to come through ....

starsorwater · 14/11/2016 19:17

I do think Rob should be allowed a lot more of that baby. It clearly brings out the best in him.
And I do think Helen needn't have stabbed him.
And I can't help remembering what a selfish unpleasant woman she used to be. But now she is totally sanctified and he is totally evil.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 14/11/2016 19:21

starsorwater, Rob repeatedly raped Helen. It doesn't matter how selfish or unpleasant she might be, nothing justifies that.

EsmesBees · 14/11/2016 19:22

I still think of Jack as a newborn Blush. He'll be on his way to crawling and weaning then. I can't see Rob coping well when he gets a bit more demanding.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 14/11/2016 19:30

I don't think we can possibly say whether the baby brings out the best in Rob or not. He's always been good at acting and hiding his true self, but only up to a point. Did you clock where he tried to say that Jack was crying because he (Rob) was going? As usual, he's already trying to twist everything to suit his own agenda. I suspect if he has to deal with an access visit where Jack is crying the whole time the mask may well slip - I wonder whether that will happen with the 8.30 a.m visit? And he'd almost certainly be a hopeless father to a stroppy adolescent.

Vango · 14/11/2016 19:31

I hope that the court will conclude that it's not in Jack's best interests to have any contact with Rob until R has undergone whatever treatment he needs for his own problems!!! And that Rob serves a custodial sentence for the crimes he's committed against Helen!!

Helen may have been a selfish, self-centred woman. She may not have been a likeable character. But he abused her physically, emotionally and financially and she has my utmost sympathy (and I didn't like her before or at the beginning of their relationship).

TheAntiBoop · 14/11/2016 19:34

Unfortunately he is an unproven rapist and abuser. And so a lot of people will think he is hard done by.

I do think children have the right to know there father but not if they are a danger to the child. Will see what they decide re rob

Vango · 14/11/2016 19:35

Oh, and every time I hear Rob with the baby I feel sick and anxious. The thought of him having any influence on that poor child's character makes me feel a bit sick. Jack needs to be protected from him.

Vango · 14/11/2016 19:43

But now she is totally sanctified and he is totally evil.

He IS totally evil! And cruel to children! Banning Helen from comforting a sobbing Henry. Putting Thomas the Rabbit in the bin! Teaching Henry lessons. He shouldn't be allowed near any child. I'm aghast. Oh my goodness.

starsorwater · 14/11/2016 19:53

I forgot all that. It was hearing him singing to the baby made me sorry for him.

ColdTeaAgain · 14/11/2016 20:23

Yes and that's exactly how he manipulates people stars, always remember that Wink He was in a public space, he wouldn't bother singing to the baby so sweetly baby if he didn't have an audience to prove a point to.
