Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

So a big pet shop boys fan didn't know they were headlining a big concert in her local area

God the dating thing is painful

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 03/11/2016 19:15

Oooooh, that arsehole! Why can't someone have an 'accident' with their gun?

TheAntiBoop · 03/11/2016 19:16

Rob is being extremely unprofessional and I doubt Justin would be so convinced so quickly. All bs again. Funny how all the sl involving knob have had so much crap in them

EsmesBees · 03/11/2016 19:21

Rob seems to have some sort of magical powers when it comes to Justin. In real life, there is no way he'd get that job given all the media coverage and gossip from the trial.

Eastpoint · 03/11/2016 19:21

I loved it when Lucy asked Roy if he had any guilty secrets.

Mootsie · 03/11/2016 19:24

What happened about Rob's visit to Jack yesterday. Did he just slope off from work early?

Imbroglio · 03/11/2016 19:38

Justin is giving Rob enough rope for a remake of Pirates of the Caribbean.

I hope it's all leading to a satisfactory conclusion (Christmas special?).

GypsyFl0ss · 03/11/2016 19:43

I'm hoping that Knob will get shot dead , not necessarily at this shoot but maybe in a few weeks after he's pissed off everyone in the village. Then we can have a big whodunnit for Christmas.

Nobody knew the PSB were going to headline at Loxfest. The original headline act pulled out just before it started and, in one of the most unlikely plot developments ever written in the history of the universe, the PSB, one of the planet's most successful acts, found themselves (a) available and (b) willing to headline at a tiny Midlands festival in its first year. The fact that Neil and Chris are both Archers fans may have had just a teeny tiny bit to do with it, I suppose. Grin Anyway, as I recall they were first mentioned at 19:14:30 on Friday and they were performing on Sunday, so not much chance for any fans to get tickets. BBC blog link, contains actor pics

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/11/2016 19:48

Yes, Gypsy, just like Murder on the Orient Express, and hopefully with the same attitude from the principal investigator.

TheAntiBoop · 03/11/2016 19:49

But she would have found out after in an 'omg I missed them' kind of way

Given her militant views on cheating I don't think Roy should go for a second date

Weirdy weird the whole thing

ColdTeaAgain · 03/11/2016 19:53

Yes I think SWs are setting Rob up for another fall but this time it will humiliation amongst all his posh business/shooting associates. Then maybe he will finally sod off for a while!

Assuming Rob just isn't having his Wednesday contact, I think he would prioritise work and impressing Justin over an hour with My-son. Would he have to go back to family court to make a new arrangement?

EBearhug · 03/11/2016 19:58

There's a thread just started about whether your neighbours should just walk in when your door's unlocked. Did anyone find it weird that Susan just walked in to look at Brian's "terrible" family portraits?

When I was growing up, it was quite normal for people to knock our door and then walk in if it was unlocked, if they knew us. If they didn't, they'don't wait for it to be open. If we weren't in, or were in the garden, it would be locked - in summer, some people would come into the garden, as we'd often be there, at least at the weekend. Mind you, one family did find Dad sunbathing in the nude one Sunday...

I found it weird when I moved to a town - I didn't just walk in on anyone, but I also found that some people didn't like you just turning up if you happened to be passing, which was also normal to me.

God, Rob is a git.

SaraTheFairy · 03/11/2016 20:50

Few niggles with today's episode. Would the shoot have a drive near a bridleway? And would Shula really use it on a shoot day, can't believe she would take the risk. I hope Rob's not wanting a hireling during the season!

However, my main reason for delurking . . .

This morning's Radio 5 phone in was on people's experience of prison. I had a moment of temporary irrationale excitement when Nicky Campbell announced "in a moment we'll be hearing from Kaz" Blush

PuppetInParadize · 03/11/2016 20:53

Why couldn't Brine have said, after Rob did his bitching (do men bitch, well Rob certainly does) about Adam's relationship problems, 'As have you, Rob'. Because in fact Rob's relationship problems were and still are MASSIVE beside Adam and Ian's.

EBearhug · 03/11/2016 20:55

Would the shoot have a drive near a bridleway?

I think one of the drives where I grew up was - the guns would be roughly in line with the bridleway, with their back to it, and across the field was a wood. But I could be misremembering.

PuppetInParadize · 03/11/2016 20:59

I caught only part of tonight's CA but what I heard was good.

Something about a sniper amongst the shoot people?
Ditto about Titchener charm and? 'further icy water with Rob throwing his weight around.'

Please feel free to correct and add as necessary. My cloth ears are a huge problem just now, partly due to a lost hearing aid.

Imbroglio · 03/11/2016 21:00

I like the sound of Victor (?) (shula's horse). He sounds ideal for a Rob-related incident.

EBearhug · 03/11/2016 21:04

Men do bitch, yes. But even if Adam was having marital problems - it's not really out of the ordinary for any relationship (see MN threads a-million) - ones which don't have problems at some point are a minority, I think, and some couples work through it, and others don't. Adam and Ian's relationship is about as conventional as you can get, and even if it weren't, it's got nothing to do with how Adam works or his professional judgement. But of course, Rob's mind doesn't work like normal people's.

It's been rather nice having normal Archers back. I 'm not sure I can cope with too much of Rob trying to coercively control the entire village.

ColdTeaAgain · 03/11/2016 21:05

Just listened to tonight's, laughing at how patronising Rob was to Shula! How can Justin be so blind? Its a complete farce. But tbh I don't mind if it means Rob will end up sacked in time for Christmas!

Olympiathequeen · 03/11/2016 21:13

DH belongs to a shoot as a standing gun and it would be a gross insult to assume he was beating as Rob did to brine. Only the local cap doffing peasants like Ed would be beating! Brine should have smiled and ignored, knob knows he and jennydarling run a shoot

Also Sara shoots often run near bridle ways (not a cat in Hells chance will knob get it shut) because there is a shooting rule that you never shoot below tree height. you get thrown out if you do

Definitely an orient express murder coming up!

Imbroglio · 03/11/2016 21:17

I imagine the noise of the guns would spook the horses, though?

PuppetInParadize · 03/11/2016 21:18

By questioning 'bitching' I was meaning because a bitch is female. I think my husband's pedantry is getting to me! But, I agree, men do go in for tittle tattle.

I find the Rob/Justin relationship so annoying because it's far fetched, and (as far as we've been shown before) it's out of character for Justin to be so trusting and dim-witted about Rob. But the rest of it/TA is very good these days. Well, If we ignore Pip and Trex.

And I DO NOT want Kirsty and Roy to be anything but flatmates. I wonder where the pregnancy story is going now, if at all. Maybe they are ringing the changes with a pregnancy that doesn't cause huge amounts of puking from the start - though one would hope for some out of character fatigue after a day at work, and maybe going off coffee. But it could be one of those tales where a woman has abdo pain and goes to doctor and, lo and behold, it's a 6 month pregnancy and she had no idea! (I've known a couple of women IRL who got more or less to 9 months without a clue - but it is quite rare to not have any idea and K is mature and bright).

Olympiathequeen · 03/11/2016 21:22

Probably but people choose where to ride their horse.

When DH was a walking gun a woman on the bridle path had a go at him for shooting little birdy-wirdies, so plenty of people use bridle paths when shooting is going on DH politely asked her if she ate chicken and if so she was being hypocritical He cooks and eats the vile pheasants which are free range and low fat until they are blasted out of the sky

Olympiathequeen · 03/11/2016 21:23

Is Kirsty pregnant? I missed that if so.
