Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

I'm so happy with the return to the little things. Enjoy the new thread!

I don't suppose Justin has some suspicions from Rob's previous employment and he's rehired him in order to provide him with more rope to hang himself with? Probably not - though that may be the outcome.

I think any attempt by Rob to use Justin and Lillian's arrangement as a lever would backfire ... oh, I do hope he tries!

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 01/11/2016 10:43

WHY DOESN'T KENTON BAR HIM?

SingingAvocado · 01/11/2016 10:57

Love your name ThatsNotMyToddler! I also thought Rob might be up to something with the paperwork when Justin entered the room!

trevortrevorslatterfry · 01/11/2016 11:35

See if I was Rob I would do things by the book from now on, "discover" the dodgy records from the past and blame Charlie for them. Therefore getting rid of any possibility of past book-cooking coming to bite me and getting a big win in the eyes of my new boss at the start.

Gherkinsmummy · 01/11/2016 14:15

I was more liking the idea of Rob being utterly helpless and depending on others. He would hate that. Or maybe he could get kicked in the head and have a complete change of personality.

ColdTeaAgain · 01/11/2016 14:20

Rob is a bit of a narcissist so it wouldn't be in his nature to take the low risk option. It's all about gaining power and throwing his weight around. He couldn't even get through his first day without rushing off to beat his chest at Adam. Just hope it all goes to his head and he lands himself in it big time.

Still no hints at where he is going to move to. Has he even been looking I wonder? Grin

PuppetInParadize · 01/11/2016 16:19

The reason I'd not want Rob incurring any significant injury/disability is that thus far the SWs have a really poor record on handling such themes at all realistically over the long term. And no way do we want Rob to be a victim or encourage self pity. I am finding Justin's current view of Knob annoying and frustrating. I hope though patience will pay dividends.

Something I missed in my weekend post about Rob's time in prison (which i fervently hope will come eventually) is an unfortunate incident in the prison shower when he bends over to pick up the soap. I wouldn't like to actually hear it being portrayed - especially as so many listeners would write to Feedback. But he really is due a considerable comeuppance.

CheesyWeez · 01/11/2016 16:48

80s - and also Toby forgot to shut the hens up at night earlier this year, and they got eaten and/or frightened to death by a fox. Pip would not have been able to forgive him that, I'm sure, I think she said at the time Livestock always come first. I felt very sorry for the poor chickens, and Rex. in that order Grin

maggiso · 01/11/2016 17:05

80s-The final straw for Rex (after a string of not pulling his weight incidents and going after Pip- the girl he knew very well Rex was keen on) was Toby not replacing the feed (for the geese?) when he was reminded to order more- so they later ran out.
I've just listened to a couple of last weeks episodes I missed. The announcer comments on hearing that voice (Robs) so close to Halloween!

JasperDamerel · 01/11/2016 17:26

Phew! I have been cutting down a bit on my MN time and missed the new thread.

Do we think Alistair will sell the client list or take on the young Scottish vet as a partner. How old do you think she is? She could have an affair with farrier Chris Carter while Alice is off being annoying.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 01/11/2016 17:29

I think Anisha is bound to become Alistair's partner, if only because they wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of employing an actor to play the part otherwise.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/11/2016 18:09

Puppet - 'comeuppance' is a remarkably apt term for the situation you describe.ShockGrin

Can I ask people who listen to the actual radio to perform a public service for those of us who pick up the podcast later and report verbatim great CA contributions? FlowersFlowersFlowersin advance.

Mootsie · 01/11/2016 18:10

I wonder if Rob will make a move on the new vet only to have her warned off by Shula?

Fink · 01/11/2016 18:12

But they engaged an actor to be the prospective nanny to MySon, only for her to disappear when Rob didn't get residency.

I'm not saying he won't go into partnership with Anisha (maybe she'll be Rob's next victim, if he could cope with someone non-white), but I wouldn't say it's definite just because we've heard her voice.

LyndaNotLinda · 01/11/2016 18:13

I'd normally agree with you Serendipity, except they had someone play Rob's new nanny when there was no job for her.

He hasn't talked to Justin about his Wednesday access has he? I wonder if he's going to slope off and hope he gets away with it?

ThatsNotMyToddler · 01/11/2016 18:57

Thanks SingingAvocado 😳

EBearhug · 01/11/2016 19:05

if only because they wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of employing an actor to play the part otherwise.

Yeah, but... did we ever hear more of the nanny Rob was employing (Charlotte? ) She had a voice for one episode, and to date, nothing more.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 01/11/2016 19:08

I really can't express how loathsome I find Alice. CONGRADULAYSHUUUNS!

LyndaNotLinda · 01/11/2016 19:09

Dreadful isn't she? And she used to be so nice Confused

Putthetulipsthere · 01/11/2016 19:15

Why does Pip always have to say Tobeeee? Never Toby. Arrrgh😱

LyndaNotLinda · 01/11/2016 19:15

Although the way Pup says Tooohbeee gets on my tits even more.

Bleugh

SerendipityPhenomenon · 01/11/2016 19:18

Is Pip really prepared to go along with Toby stealing from her neighbours for the purposes of brewing this disgusting drink? And if he's not working with Rex any more, does that mean she's supporting him?

TheAntiBoop · 01/11/2016 19:51

Who did Toby steal from?

And there have been a lot of one episode actors in the last year or two - paramedics, police, solicitors, judge, jury etc etc

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/11/2016 20:10

He took Lynda's herbs which were drying in her shed. Utterly beyond the pale. Angry

GypsyFl0ss · 01/11/2016 20:12

Bloody hell how much more Toebee, Alice and Pip are we to be subjected. Doesn't Alice have a job...she seems to be around every corner with her breathy "oh hi" voice.

Toebee stole from Lyndy's garden, both her fresh and dried herbs. She's going to go apeshit and I hope he feels suitably contrite. But he won't cos he's a twat.
