Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

If Justin was even half awake he would have questioned why Rob wanted to prioritise seeing Helen's cousin and the partner of her best friend first.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 31/10/2016 21:27

I don't think I can face Rob being the poor wounded martyr any more, so I'd vote against the hunting accident leaving him disabled. Though a reasonably trivial but highly embarrassing injury (say, getting his whip stuck somewhere unfortunate) would be most acceptable.

TheAntiBoop · 31/10/2016 21:51

I'm not a fan of using disability as a 'punishment' or further reinforcement of the stereotype that mental badness and physical disability are intrinsically linked

I would rather they kill him off. Given Justin is blind to him at the moment I wonder what he will do to get sacked?

Is he actually Adams boss or just demara manager? I'm not sure a business would be run like that. Adam was left to make th farming decision, rob can't ultimately make him change what he is doing without going through a process first I would have thought

ColdTeaAgain · 31/10/2016 21:56

I think having this new job despite everything teamed with Justin being all chummy with him is going to make Rob believe he's invincible. He'll get caught out this time up to his old tricks at work. Would love see him get the sack when he thinks he's top dog. I think we're in for a period of things looking good for Rob for a while though.

Minimammoth · 31/10/2016 22:03

Missed it. But I demand clarity regarding Robs line manager etc.

AnnieNoMouse · 31/10/2016 22:12

Reheard yesterday's episode at lunch. Anisha said something like "You're surprised by a Scottish Sri Lankan vet?"
Yes, Shula, it's really surprising that there are animals in Scotland and Sri Lanka and they occasionally get sick and need help Hmm

AnnieNoMouse · 31/10/2016 22:13

Re Adam, I thought he was a contractor to Damara, not an employee?

TheAntiBoop · 31/10/2016 22:21

Yes that's right - home farm have the contract to farm the fields as they see fit and were awarded the contract accordingly. Demara own the land that is being farmed and rob manages those contracts. Not micro managing every decision home farm make

officerhinrika · 31/10/2016 22:24

I wonder what the reaction of JD ( lunch provider)-and Lillian (social secretary) will be to Justin's last minute addition to the guest list. Bet he's rude to Will as well.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 31/10/2016 22:32

Wasn't it Justin who was particularly keen on Adam's proposals for soil management and pushed it through with the board? I really hope they're not going to have him doing a complete U-turn on that just on Rob's say-so.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/10/2016 23:37

I don't think Adam was kowtowing to Rob- just being a bit more professional. Rob is probably intent on baiting Adam till he snaps and punches him - I do hope Adam can manage to rise above the taunts.

Glowfrog - yes... a whodunnit where the whole of ambridge dunnit. It will be disguised as a 'freak' series of events in which the hapless victim feels ill after ingesting dodgy yogurt, chokes when trying to wash it down with a bad pint of shires, stumbles outside into the range of the shoot, falls and is trampled by a horse and then run over by a drill and finished off by ferocious ferrets and a starving goose. That final straw being genuinely an accident caused by Toby's fecklessness, the good people of the village are off the hook. The title of this drama is 'Fowl Play'.

EBearhug · 01/11/2016 00:13

Shooting's not really a hard day out if you're a gun. I'd quite like to have Rob do a day''s beating - and not in the current glorious autumn weather we've been having, but through frosty (but sticky, not frozen solid) winter mud that's got kale growing in it, which means wet brassica leaves drip wetly across your face as you push through, beating the stalks...

But I digress - it's many years since I used a shotgun, but it's got quite a kick. Rob's just had abdominal surgery. I'd be surprised if his core muscles were back up to full strength. I know your shoulder takes the brunt of it, but your legs and back and stomach all play their part in holding you upright. It's not just a walk in the park. But perhaps he''s made a full recovery and will be fine.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 01/11/2016 02:11

EBearhug unfortunately we have precedent for significant injury/medical recovery time being completely ignored by the SWs - remember Chris' flail chest? So I fear that Rob will be handling a shotgun like he's not even broken a nail.

Yakitori · 01/11/2016 05:05

Yeah but he's the type to think he's recovered when he isn't.

80sWaistcoat · 01/11/2016 05:29

I've missed a bit. What did the awful Toby do to upset Rex? Was it moving in with pip or sthg else? I hate this SL but feel the need to know...I hate myself.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 01/11/2016 05:51

80s he broke the 'bro code' (yuk) by going out with Pip. But also forgot to order any feed for the geese so they didn't have enough when Rex turned up to feed them

glowfrog · 01/11/2016 06:47

Errol Grin

I think Rob can only advise Justin? And that's all he threatened to do.

Imbroglio · 01/11/2016 07:04

I think the Rob /Justin thing is another plot device to keep Rob in a position of power but I also wonder if Rob will be the one to rumble Lilian and Justin.

TheAntiBoop · 01/11/2016 08:12

Yes he could use it for blackmail purposes and this we will have him hanging on even longer

He's turning a bit too panto villain for me. Feels like he should be on emmerdale

Minimammoth · 01/11/2016 08:21

I sniffed out the blackmail possibility too. Somebody push him in the septic tank please.

80sWaistcoat · 01/11/2016 08:21

Thank you thatsnotmytoddler.

Yakitori · 01/11/2016 08:27

like he should be on emmerdale

Top burn there!

ColdTeaAgain · 01/11/2016 08:37

Maybe we are heading for Christmas Titchener showdown? Choked to death on one of Ursula's pigs in blankets.

selsigfach · 01/11/2016 09:26

I don't think a Justin/Lillian blackmail would work - I'm sure Justin and Miranda have 'an arrangement'.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 01/11/2016 09:32

Just listened and I definitely think they're flagging up more fraudulent activity from Rob. I thought he sounded a bit flustered when Justin first turned up, and "oh I'm just catching up with this paperwork". The Justin assuring him he'd give him free reign. I suppose it might just be assuring Rob that he can go and 'check in' with Adam whenever he likes, but I wonder if he'll have his hand in the till before too long. Hopefully contributing to his eventual demise...
