What day is it again?

OP posts:
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/09/2016 19:58

Charlie wasn't mentioned by name, but the barrister said something like 'teh manager of a neighbouring large estate', so pretty clear who he meant.

JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 20:00

Ooer, just realised - maybe Charlie now has no reason to keep quiet about Knob and may reappear?

My blood ran cold when Jess said Rob used to say he was getting his friends to keep an eye on her. That's just what DSis' evil bastard ex used to say to her, and indeed he had one little rat scumbag of a friend who did precisely that. If there's one person I wish all sorts of horrible revenges on, it's him.

Vango · 08/09/2016 20:02

Topaz I'm getting the impression that Shula is a woman living on her last nerve and I think Bruce may push her over the edge. She's petrified of everything at the moment and knows that it won't be long before the truth about covering for Rob comes out. Whatever reputation she has could be in tatters.

redshoeblueshoe · 08/09/2016 20:07

Well lots of the predictions on here are happening Archers Wine

BurnTheBlackSuit · 08/09/2016 20:08

Did Jess say that Rob had to keep leaving jobs?

I feel like I only half heard the episode, there was so much going on. Might have to LA for the first time in ages.

ColdTeaAgain · 08/09/2016 20:08

Oh right Judy Blush I'm really not au fait with legal stuff! Am quite tempted to LA to this weeks episodes before the hour long one is aired.

Bruce was so predictable. He clearly thinks women who try to say no are just troublemakers who don't know how lucky they are to be married.

Shallishanti · 08/09/2016 20:15

yeah Jess did mention lots of jobs but not why the constant moves

enochroot · 08/09/2016 20:16

It must have been Bruce's turn for the dentures.

So now there are two wives of Rob's saying in court that he raped them and two wives that he is calling insane liars. He's not coming out of this well.

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 20:20

Just checked with Lowfield and Knob did indeed tell Ian about Charlie and Pavel.

Ian doesn't know it was JD who blabbed about Pavel though.

TopazRocks · 08/09/2016 20:20

enoch, i was thinking that too. Was that really why Arsula wasn't in court?! I know Bruce would be ghastly if real, but he is written rather well and was actually quite funny as he's such a stereotype.

JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 20:22

I suppose you can see exactly why Bruce would have been living hell to have as a father. I do wish the mysterious Miles would come out of the woodwork and tell us more.

Mootsie · 08/09/2016 20:23

Surely Ursula would have pointed out to Bruce that neither Pat nor Tony can collect Henry from school because they're only allowed to see him on a Sunday?

The prosecuting barrister sounds like he's wishing he hadn't taken this case.

Putthetulipsthere · 08/09/2016 20:23

It seems too good to be true - Bruce's behaviour, Jess's testimony are all stacking up against Rob.

As for the tweeting juror, I hope that is just a diversion by SOC, & the case goes on with 11 on the jury.

As for Bruce & Rob, I found it really chilling when Rob apologised to him. As if he was a child again😱

SealSong · 08/09/2016 20:23

I must say that Timothy Watson does a fantastic job playing Rob, as does Louiza Patikas as Helen.

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 20:24

I think the only way Shula will be able to salve her conscience is by donning sackcloth and ashes and crawling on her knees to the steps of Felpersham Cathedral, flagellating herself all the way.

St Smugula the Penitent

I for one will be happy to stand by the roadside pelting her with clods of mud as she goes.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 08/09/2016 20:27

Could the Tweet be a plot device to give us a day off court and let us hear other stuff happening?

JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 20:29

That sounds distinctly likely, Burn. Also a way for SOC to string the tension out till Sunday.

TheAntiBoop · 08/09/2016 20:30

The tweet will lead to another victim of robs (after uni and pre getting back with Jess) coming forward

Or more than one

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2016 20:34

Thats what I was thinking, burn . I'm hoping that one of the things that happens tomorrow is that Shula goes and fesses up to Harrison - not that it would help in Helen's case but just that she's wracked by unaccustomed guilt and Bruce has pushed her over the edge.

Poor Ian. Question though - did Adam and Charlie actually have an affair, or was it just a couple of snogs and Charlie chasing after Adam - it seemed to me that Charlie had really fallen for Adam, but Adam just fancied him and liked him and didn't get quite that involved.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2016 20:36

At least the juror was only tweeting though, and hadn't been caught on the MN spoilers thread...

AnnieNoMouse · 08/09/2016 20:36

I'm assuming the trial will go ahead but with just 11 jurors. They wouldn't just replace one, because the new one wouldn't have heard all the evidence.

The SW's really don't like Shula do they? That scene when Anna told her she was a liar was quite gleeful, plus the rejection of her cricket sandwiches, and having her being polite to Bruce tonight - because being polite to a man of the right class is more important to her than showing support for her family. Horrid woman.

Fink · 08/09/2016 20:37

It would be weirdly great (and is clearly not going to happen) if the day away from court was all devoted to all the characters who have been lost down the back of SOC's sofa: an evening of Kathy, Chris Carter, Nic, Usha ... [pleasant reverie]

ibrowze · 08/09/2016 20:38

What would it have cost SW to have Cathy exchange one comforting sentence with her BF Pat. I can hardly remember what she sounds like. Especially as she was victim of a rape herself.

TheAntiBoop · 08/09/2016 20:41

Charlie and Adam had sex the night before charlie left I believe

Binkybix · 08/09/2016 20:41

It was just a few snogs, although I'm pretty sure that Adam told Charlie he loved him too before he left. Maybe I'm misremembering.

I miss Charlie. I really fancied him.
