Orange Is The New Black in Ambridge. Just ask Helen. But will anyone in The Archers ever ask her WHY?

I reckon this thread will see us through the Euros, both footy and referendum. Await the clunky topical inserts here.

Goodness, I thought Bert said he was 'still walking with a stick' ( I do have cloth ears and deliberately did not LA). Since there was nothing done to his leg, i thought it was as case of 'over-egging' (or an error of continuity since they've socked the archivist) but if it's the arm that is plausible. It could mean the damage is worse than we thought - but then why wouldn't Ursula have mentioned it in her little querulous voice when she was mentioning his sore belly and his baag? I wonder if a surgeon could be called to give evidence and announce he thinks it was self-inflicted. I know nothing about the forensics of stab wounds though.

Why would you ask pip to do voiceover work? She has the worlds most annoying voice and delivery.

And where are those little sniffling noises from Jack.

Nice to hear we are hearing the guards nicknames. God that scene was painful. caz is trying to stand like diamond in the rough cockney

Unnecessarily long scene on carols wrist?

I'm going to assume Neil paid for the chickens. Isn't josh a little entitled to think he can just take them. Hope Neil gets pc plot to have stern words

Yes it was walking with a stick and not being able to keep up with a very rowdy henry

Weirdly (seriously weirdly) - within the context of the whole hen tale I thought it was rather realistic. (Once I'd got over the fact that Upper Class Eggs evidently don't require upper class mothers. Just pampering.) There was a sort of RL, old skool, heedless, problem solving undergrad flavour to the thing.

(Nice for Josh, who will surely never see the inside of a university until he's invited to give a speech on how he made his first million.)

Thanks for the new thread Pseudo - pace of TA feels about right at the moment.

Tonights ep was mostly meh. Helen and Caz was alright, other than Helen repeatedly talking about 15ft high walls (yawn. It's a prison ffs). I reckon Caz is the person Helen is going to open up to, and she might become a vital witness for the defence.

I can't take any more Pip. She is unremittingly simultaneously dull and perky.

And you lot are all horrible about Carole. I like Carol.

An older woman made some pervy comment to Lizzie implying that Roy was drop dead gorge. That was Carol wasn't it? So she might try and match make Anna and Roy

It was Carol - can't remember where - it was either a ball or a funeral (???) The remark was something about the Tucker boy and understanding why Lizzie had done it. Actually it might have been said to Lizzie.

I'm fine with pairing Anna and Roy. There are so many characters missing that guving air time to anyone who reduces the available time for Perky Pip is OK.

Wearily checking in. I'm not able to listen for a month so relying on you lot to keep me up to date.

Kind of glad that I can't listen as the Helen story line is clearly hugely frustrating.

Greetings CUP. I'm finding it hugely frustrating that no one from Ambridge has decided to join you on your travels.

Anyway. The BBC has provided a handy cut out and keep guide to TA. Probably for the benefit of the incoming interim Editor. Hmm

Haha BYOS as soon as I heard Toby trying to persuade Pip to do the voiceover I knew there would be scoffing on this thread! In fact I'm surprised no-one else has mentioned it Hmm. And the odious flirting that follows Pip wherever she goes ugh.

But she has such a melodious voice.
Do you think that was a pisstake by the SW of her singsong delivery?

Pip hates Josh because she suspects Josh is clever and she isn't really.

I had a dream about all those chockens being stuffed in the chicken coop. My first TA dream.

I liked the idea of Toby and Josh rustling the chickens. Exactly the sort of nutter solution I'd expect them to come up with.

Neil is going to hit the roof.

Pip's voice is like fingernails on a blackboard to me. Old Pip's voice was preferable, and that was grating enough.

No carol mentioned hot Roy before the affair was made known. And she used a real odd word to describe him for a woman her age. Part of it was to try and show how astute carol is blah blah. And then Lizzie went and confided in her after I think?

Do you think Toby is going to get pip round to do the voiceover and one thing will lead to another as Rex is away? I hope not for berts sake!!

Anyone remember the Cereals event from 2 years ago, attended by Adam and Charlie? It stuck in my mind because I was actually driving past the venue on my way home from work as that TA episode was being broadcast - a weird experience of fiction intersecting fact.

Anyway, the 2016 event starts tomorrow, and I've been driving past the last few weeks watching the tents etc appearing in a Cambridgeshire field. www.cerealsevent.co.uk/

I wonder if Adam will go and bump into Charlie?

I've just seen they have an area devoted to drone technology, so it seems the agricultural editor has been keeping up with the latest developments.

Report
SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 14/06/2016 09:55

Don't know if Charlie will be in cereals now he is in Perthshire. Its more soft fruit, grazing and shooting.

I'm sure I remember you driving past the event D3 - rather than the event itself.

Do they feed cereals to fish? Charlie's unlikely to be there otherwise.

No one has ever explained why Charlie submitted to fish farm exile. Couldn't he have got a job with another company - he seemed perfectly well qualified and experienced. And I don't believe Damara would have refused him a decent reference.

I'm hoping Caz is a reasonably healthy development. It does seem to stop Helen being such a princess and carrying on as if no-one's ever had a baby before, let alone a baby in prison. And it might just help her to relax and start talking to people about Knob.
