the late-lamented midwife, daughter of Alan

Amy?

theredjellybean · 23/05/2016 14:55

Ps: loving Peggy ...you go granny !

SaffyRosie · 23/05/2016 15:00

Didn't sound to me like Helen was that happy that the baby was ok. Maybe subconsciously she was hoping it would die. Conceived during a rape by the man she hates.

I think, if she is found not guilty, she should make a deal with Knob and give him the baby if he relinquishes all rights to Henry.

ppeatfruit · 23/05/2016 15:01

Well Pat hadn't ignored the fact that Hell was being EA and eventually driven to stab an abusive shit head of a husband at that time had she? She's guilty guilty guilty.

EBearhug · 23/05/2016 15:02

^pre-eclampsia does not 'come back'
suddenly during labour ...she became eclamptic not pre eclamptic why do they have such stupid mistakes^

But it wasn't medics saying it - it seems pretty reasonable to me that Tony reporting down a mobile phone line that they rushed her in for an emergency caesarian because of eclampsia could easily be "she got pre-eclampsia again... the pre-eclampsia came back, like last time," by the time it's getting reported onwards.

Although you'do think a good animal farmer would have a bit more idea. Humans aren't the only animals which can get it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/05/2016 15:09

All that was actually said on air was that her blood pressure had gone up so she was rushed off for an emergency c-section. Might just have been a precaution. The endless wailing is really getting me down, I must say. Sad Thank goodness for Game of Thrones.

BertrandRussell · 23/05/2016 15:15

She said her face felt puffy, Peggy said something like "Don't worry, but I'll call the midwife just in case..."

Gruach · 23/05/2016 15:26

Oh, look.

Think TA are rather proud of this as they re-tweeted it.

Abraid2 · 23/05/2016 15:33

GoT meets TA...

Tyyrion would verbally reduce Rob to zero. Or Brienne or Arya could just lop his head off. I think I'd push Pat out of that tower with the very long drop.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/05/2016 16:26

Peggy would get on like a house on fire with Olenna Martell.

Routenationale · 23/05/2016 16:56

I think that she eventually WILL want the baby. But Knob got hold of Henry while it was easy to do so (wife in jail looking guilty of extreme violence), so that he would have massive leverage to get the baby later on. Plus to make sure that Henry says the right things in court. Once he has the baby, he can either keep hold of Henry for permanent leverage (very limited access to the baby), or give him to Pat and Tony (if Helen still in prison).

EBearhug · 23/05/2016 17:22

I think that she eventually WILL want the baby.

She has said (more than once, I think,) that Rob mustn't have the baby, because it wouldn't be safe; although she's also talked about the baby being easier to give up, but she could be referring to third parties other than Rob, such as foster care (I don't know much about such things, but then SOC will do as he will, which may not reflect real life anyway.)

Gumpendorf · 23/05/2016 17:42

At the time, I thought being easier to give up a boy was a comment on the MBU mother about to lose her child. Helen was thinking she too would have to give up her baby at some point.

selsigfach · 23/05/2016 19:10

Oh dear, not wanting to breastfeed - let alone hold or have a photo - is not a good sign.

lljkk · 23/05/2016 19:11

I'll kill her if Kirsty takes him back. Argh!! She deserves better.

R4 · 23/05/2016 19:17

Kirsty is already into the "here's your sandwiches and flask".Sad

selsigfach · 23/05/2016 19:17

Careful there, lljkk, if this stupid storyline has taught us anything, it's to not go around making murderous threats!

glowfrog · 23/05/2016 19:20

I go away for a couple of days and WTAF?? Gideon?!

Sounds like it keeps getting grimmer every day. It's like The Walking Dead meets Game of Thrones, but in the Englisg countryside, and with no zombies or dragons.

glowfrog · 23/05/2016 19:22

Careful what you say, lljkk, those words could come back and bite you in the arse. Or in court. Grin

glowfrog · 23/05/2016 19:22

Damn you, selsig. Grin

glowfrog · 23/05/2016 19:23

But that poor baby. Sad

lljkk · 23/05/2016 19:24

Don't worry, Helen left me a little prezzie. I'm all ready. (MANIC GRIN)

Vango · 23/05/2016 19:36

Misery heaped on misery. The Archers of the last few months is making me anxious and upset. I can't see any light at the end of any tunnel. Why do we think the SWs agreed that this was a good way to go? None of the other storylines make any sense alongside Helens. I'm really fed up of the relentless downward spiral.

enochroot · 23/05/2016 19:46

I can't believe Pat hasn't twigged that Rob is messing with Henry's head. If Henry thinks the baby is going to live with them then it's because Rob and Ursula have told him so.
You'd think Pat had learned a something by now!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 23/05/2016 20:06

I quite like Gideon but otherwise this is all very unpleasant.
