New thread for tonight's episode.

Do you like the decor then? My 'personal' assistant did it.

Is there a doctor in the house?

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/05/2016 19:18

I'm a peaceful sort of person but, so help me, I could slap Prat from here to next week.

Thymeout · 05/05/2016 19:24

BYOS - 'yawn' is just about right. We'll have lost interest by September.

But they can appeal bail if something significant happens in the meantime.

Is this where a god descends from Olympus and sorts everything out, as in Greek tragedy?

Perhaps Jess will reappear and Rob will have his own trial....

BiscuitMillionaire · 05/05/2016 19:31

The actress playing the judge was dire. That awful RADA voice, reminded me of Jess.

AugustaFinkNottle · 05/05/2016 19:32

All that calling out in court and hysteria seemed to have an awful lot in common with the EastEnders standard scriptwriting style.

AugustaFinkNottle · 05/05/2016 19:34

Me too. She always sounds so needy when she talks about or to Helen, and all that hysterical sobbing as if no woman has ever given birth in custody before makes her sound idiotic.

JessieMcJessie · 05/05/2016 19:36

Utter bollocks that a family as middle class as the Bridge Farm Archers would shout and wail out loud in Court. Embarrassingly melodramatic and I am sad to say that Patticia Gallimore's acting has been pants of late.

theDudesmummy · 05/05/2016 19:37

The judge sounded like no judge I have ever heard. Very unbelievable. And in a real court Pat and Tony and Tom would have reprimanded for all that backchat and wailing...

theDudesmummy · 05/05/2016 19:37

would have been reprimanded

BertrandRussell · 05/05/2016 19:42

"Me too. She always sounds so needy when she talks about or to Helen, and all that hysterical sobbing as if no woman has ever given birth in custody before makes her sound idiotic."

I can believe that- the build up of tension must have been unbearable. But the shouting out in court is completely unbelievable.

GypsyFl0ss · 05/05/2016 19:44

I think that was a work experience judge.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/05/2016 19:48

Agreed on all points. Utter tosh. Surely SOC will have arrived in Albert Square by 5th September? I long for the new Editor to arrive and get things back to some sort of normality. Maybe Rob could have a relapse and die. That would get the Titcheners out of the way. Then we could have Susan looking at the new Borchester Echo and saying to someone in the shop 'I see Helen Archer was found Not Guilty. Quite right too. That Rob turned out to be no better than he ought to be. She'll be home later and then we can forget all about that unpleasantness. That's what I had to do after I was in prison. And I see they've given up on the new road too, what with all the cuts. So that's another good thing. Now, was it plain chocolate digestives you wanted, or milk? My Neil prefers his digestives plain, but I always say you can't beat a chocolate digestive with a nice cup of tea....'

buckingfrolicks · 05/05/2016 20:03

Top post Gaspode.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/05/2016 20:06

I fear we (and Hellin - why does Prat always mispronounce her own daughter's name?) will not be let off the hook in September

Mystic Bore predicts that SOC has planned for her to be found guilty and we will have to wait for the appeal.

Hadron21 · 05/05/2016 20:07

Thanks for the update. I've stopped listening after 15 years! I even avoid being in the car when it's on as I get tempted to listen, then end up shouting at the radio.

BYOSnowman · 05/05/2016 20:29

I'm hoping she dies in childbirth

I haven't been listening as I am so disappointed in how they are handling this. It's just turning into eastenders

EasyToEatTiger · 05/05/2016 20:30

I think SOC should be composted. Or at least apply to become an organ donor sooner rather than later. With Thomas Hardy, anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Misery feeds itself with more misery. At least books have an end, and take quite a long time to write. My weekday 6.30 comedy is ruined by the prospect of The Archers. I like listening to Radio 4. It is my clock. I really feel violated by TA. Perhaps I will go to another radio station altogether. TA has become the rotten egg of Radio 4.

LillianGish · 05/05/2016 20:33

I also thought the judge sounded like Jess. Pat's character has been rewritten to the point of total irrelevance - the entire storyline is now as irritating as the Great Move North and there is nothing else in the programme to redeem it. MIranda's appearance as a complete caricature was all too predictable - SOC has taken us so far into the realm of TV soap I wonder if there is any way back?

BYOSnowman · 05/05/2016 20:33

Agree. My radio only ever had one station. Now I let the kids choose so we end up listening to magic!

BYOSnowman · 05/05/2016 20:36

My dad has listened for decades and his view is that whilst there have been daft sl it has never been so relentlessly miserable and irritating. He doesn't bother listening anymore.

Travelledtheworld · 05/05/2016 20:49

Listening to Classic FM tonight and this thread has replaced The Archers, totally.

SealSong · 05/05/2016 20:52

This last episode was terrible, it just gets more and more like Eastenders. When is SOC buggering off?

prettywhiteguitar · 05/05/2016 21:13

I find Pat's acting so unbelievable and Tony is like a simpleton.

But I hated the Kirsty and Tom wedding story line, I knew they wouldn't get married, and the move and selling of the farm made me hate David and Ruth with a passion.

It seems they can't get the story lines right, they garner interest but in a negative way. Think of all the fantastic drama that everyone talks about and creates a buzz but without irritating the hell out of anyone . Can't they see they are getting it totally wrong ?

GypsyFl0ss · 05/05/2016 21:13

So Hellin will go into labour, the baby will be poorly and need to be in NICU and that will invoke the review of the no parole shizz. They can hardly keep her banged up especially if she wants to breastfeed the spawn of satan and the infant needs specialist care. Would that breach The Right to Family Life? You know what I don't actually give a toss now what happens, it's all such bollocks.

BeauGlacons · 05/05/2016 21:36

Oh I don't know. I think she might be punching her tummy because the baby got there due to rape and represents Knob's penile footprint. She has never been happy about this pg. The rejection of knob spawn, and it could have hooves and horns, might be what saves her
