New thread for tonight's episode.

Do you like the decor then? My 'personal' assistant did it.

Co tasted? Indecent image flicker in my mind! I mean contacted!

Not posting much, but still listening. Unable to keep up with the thread, so here's my contribution--a bit late but raises a smile

But the police haven't told Pat she is a prosecution witness have they? And they haven't told her she can't visit her own daughter in prison? So if I was her I'd ignore Anna (who is Helen's counsel, not Pat's) and go ahead with the visit anyway. Surely there's nothing to stop her from doing so - she's had nothing official to say don't.
And can't she look at being a witness as a good time. Yes, the prosecution will just want to ask her if she heard H threaten to kill R, and for her to say, yes, but the defence will be able yo tease out more info from Pat that will help Helen's defence. I think.

Gumpendorf · 03/05/2016 20:31

Can you substitute one visitor for another at short notice?

Though God knows why that matters. What was once an accurately and sensitively acted SL has turned into the most contrived, badly written SL .... words just fail me.

The restriction on actors doesn't help. Either you can afford to produce a complex drama using the actors you need or you tailor your storytelling to fit the financial constraints. Jeez!

Gumpendorf · 03/05/2016 20:37

Annie. I fear Pat's well meaning handwringing will convict Helen. 'Yes but you must understand she's always been complex .... Oh dear that's not what I meant..... ' Kirsty has her work cut out.

If the 'l'll kill him' phrase has such importance. What of the 'Don't worry Mummy, I'll look after you'

Thymeout · 03/05/2016 20:39

The police/CPS may have informed the prison that Pat is now on the prosecution witness list. Anna would have to advise H not to speak to her now she knows what Pat told the police.

And I'm afraid that the prosecution is likely to have quite a few questions for Pat on why she so willingly aided Rob in cc - given she raised no objections - which weakens H's case.

Thymeout · 03/05/2016 20:42

The 'I'll kill him' is important because the charge is attempted murder. Without it, it could be a lesser charge.

Henry's contribution has no relevance to the trial.

Gumpendorf · 03/05/2016 20:56

thanks Thymeout. I was thinking more in terms of the script. The 'I'll kill him' dialogue was obviously included to support the later plot. I can't believe Henry's comment was just there for sentiment.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/05/2016 21:11

It also gives her a motive. She tried to. Kill him because after all the bad parenting she did, henry liked Rob better than her. Only they don't know about Mr Rabbit in the bin.

shinynewusername · 03/05/2016 21:29

Legal eagles: I thought the police now had to offer witnesses the chance to lawyer up before giving a statement? Or is that only if witnesses are also potential suspects?

mummytime · 03/05/2016 21:29

Qu

Boomingmarvellous · 03/05/2016 21:32

At the time of the 'I'll kill him' statement I did think it completely over the top and out of line with a semi controlled, coerced wife who was in fear of her husband. Now I see it was just another plot contrivance.

Badly done SW, badly done!

shinynewusername · 03/05/2016 21:43

Only they don't know about Mr Rabbit in the bin

Pity - they should have a warren-t out for Rob's arrest.

AnnieNoMouse · 03/05/2016 21:52

I do worry about Thomas Wabbit. I guess he's deep within landfill by now Sad

Alleycat1 · 03/05/2016 21:53

Shiny Grin

Alleycat1 · 03/05/2016 21:55

Perhaps Thomas Wabbit will burrow his way out of the landfill and be surprise witness for the defence.

AnnieNoMouse · 03/05/2016 21:57

On current form he'll do a better job than Pat

NotdeadyetBOING · 03/05/2016 22:04

I told you all the chair was more of a 'bronze' than a yellow. Glad to hear Justin and I are in synch...

shinynewusername · 03/05/2016 22:09

You're a bit past it though, aren't you? Nip off and make us a coffee Grin

AugustaFinkNottle · 03/05/2016 22:12

I think the police only have to give the chance to call a lawyer to potential accused people. But of course in Pat's case she had every chance to call a lawyer, it was even suggested to her, but she decided she knew better.

NotdeadyetBOING · 03/05/2016 22:14

I may look past it, but that miserable battle-axe doesn't realise I can give any shameless Borsetshire seductress a run for her money….. Just let me at him with my fabric swatch pad….

MrsArthurShappey · 03/05/2016 22:19

Oh god, even reading about Pat here is making my blood boil. Still not listening, thankfully.

DoesFlossfloss · 03/05/2016 22:32

God isn't Miranda tiresome already? Couldn't they have made her character attractive and charming and have David fall in love with her?

BYOSnowman · 03/05/2016 22:44

Soc has definitely turned the archers from characters that are flawed but fundamentally nice, to selfish and nasty characters who will create discord

It's boring

AugustaFinkNottle · 03/05/2016 22:45

I assume we are meant to deduce from the comments Miranda made that Justin has form for having an eye for the laydeez?
