New thread for tonight's episode.

Do you like the decor then? My 'personal' assistant did it.

As I mentioned yesterday, Rob is now living off joint assets. I wish Pat had had the wit to point this out instead of apologising again and again to the vile woman.

I hope the Ambridge legal fairy suggests that Helen file for divorce.

choccyp1g · 02/05/2016 16:59

But Rob muscled in on Helen's job, (when BF agreed to the job share, with no discussion whatsoever), and surely Helen would have had a lovely contract including indefinite maternity and sick pay, parental leave etc....she never seemed to be short of money in the past. How does it work with a job share? Does a new sharer get the long service benefits built up by the first employee?

rissabirnie · 02/05/2016 17:00

I think that Pat and Tony fear antagonising Rob and Ursula now that they have care of Henry and will therefore give them anything that they ask for with regard to sick pay etc.
I hope that the not having Henry ready at the agreed time doesn't count against them with the court. I would have thought that P and T's solicitor would have impressed on them the importance of sticking to contact arrangements to the letter in the run up to the court hearing.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/05/2016 17:00

I just assumed Jazzer was a casual employee

Other than properly self employed contractors there are very few people who carry out work for another person and are not employees with rights.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/05/2016 17:08

Does a new sharer get the long service benefits built up by the first employee?

No absolutely not.

We don't know Helen's status anyway do we? Is she an employee of Pat 'n' Tone or is there a partnership of which Pat, Tone, Tom and Helen are partners and Knob is an employee of that partnership?

Gruach · 02/05/2016 17:16

A quick google suggests that Tom and Helen became partners in BF in 2008 (and persuaded their parents to buy the farm) - but Pat and Tony only handed over the decision making in 2014.

As I've said before - I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rob believes that his marriage has made him an equal partner in the farm.

Gruach · 02/05/2016 17:23

(My Archers Archives confirms the random Google result - but still with no exact details.)

Gumpendorf · 02/05/2016 17:52

As I've said before - I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rob believes that his marriage has made him an equal partner in the farm.

Is BF a limited company with Pat, Tony, Helen and Tom as directors? Or is it a partnership? It's a long time since I did this professionally, but both used to require a specific legal agreement which cannot be obtained via marriage or doing the equivalent job of a partner/director.

Knob was sharing the job Helen did and represented her in meetings. Bringing someone into the business to cover (say) maternity leave of a partner/director doesn't give them any legal entitlements beyond employee. Although there would normally be better paperwork. And by claiming SSP, Rob is tacitly acknowledging that.

I wonder if Helen has an up to date will?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/05/2016 18:37

Unfortunately, we never get sufficiently detailed explanations on air! It's intensely frustrating to those of us who like that kind of thing. Grin

Gruach · 02/05/2016 19:19

Can I do the KLAXON!?Grin

Neither sight nor sound of Rob or Helen. Safe listening for sensitive souls. (Unless Josh's weird, accentless delivery hurts your ears ...)

Gumpendorf · 02/05/2016 19:20

Haha! I know. Sometimes I take things too seriously. I was half way to checking with Companies House. Grin

cheminotte · 02/05/2016 19:21

Thanks Gruach - so quiet on here tonight I hoped I'd hear a klaxon!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/05/2016 19:21

I have a very soft spot for Josh because Angus Imrie was in my son's year at school. He won every acting prize going and (I would say) he is a million times better than Daisy Badger (not that that's difficult).

Minimammoth · 02/05/2016 19:23

It is quiet. I wonder if they recorded six months of Helens dialogue before pregnancy leave. Also Sok is due soon. And yes to new Henry.

GypsyFl0ss · 02/05/2016 19:42

I like Josh a lot, he sounds like he acts spots of the others and he reminds me so much of OldTom, always got an eye on the business. Pip sounds like she is on heat, all that " hello you " schtick. Urgh.

BYOSnowman · 02/05/2016 19:49

Yes - I always imagine pip is rubbing her thighs whenever she talks to a member of the opposite sex. Including her father worryingly.

Shallishanti · 02/05/2016 19:52

I would so love to hear Rob applying for JSA
Or ESA even.

GypsyFl0ss · 02/05/2016 20:08

What a thought BYOS!

BYOSnowman · 02/05/2016 20:20

I always expect her to say 'ding song' at the end of every sentence

She is a truly awful radio actor

BYOSnowman · 02/05/2016 20:21

Or rather 'ding dong'

selsigfach · 02/05/2016 20:29

She's turned into the new Alice, hasn't she? Highest sex drive in Borsetshire, that one.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 02/05/2016 20:39

Pip is actually like Germaine from Raised by Wolves who is permanently on heat and is played by old Pip.Confused

GypsyFl0ss · 02/05/2016 20:44

Well helllloooooo Rex/ Toby/ Matthew/ Dad. Don'tcha all just fancy me ...the only Beef Baroness in the village.

tibbawyrots · 02/05/2016 20:48

Pip was very mealy-mouthed at Josh's facebook marketing. Definitely tried to piss on his chips.

BYOSnowman · 02/05/2016 20:50

If I think of flash heart whenever pip is on I might be able to get through an episode with her in it. Maybe. She's such a bitch
