Rob - dead? No, no, he's, er, resting. He's just pining for the Canadian plains. As Helen is taken into custardy, discuss the Archers here.

Words I'm interested in what you have to say about conflict of interest! Twins eh? Wonder does Usha have a twin sister? (That'd save on the cast fees anyway - I sound the same as all of my female siblings.)

Mrsmorton · 04/04/2016 22:01

Peggy was put right in her interfering old bat place. Pah.

DadDadDad · 04/04/2016 22:01

This is exactly the moment where we need that pub emoticon to represent a spirit of harmony and community. We are a thread where we don't normally need to employ DFOD, where minorities like male Archer listeners and even actuaries are welcome. Smile

drspouse · 04/04/2016 22:02

Peggy said she heard/saw the blue lights.
And then complained about rubberneckers...

GypsyFl0ss · 04/04/2016 22:02

In fact it's quite the style of these threads for posters to muse and pontificate into thin air without acknowledgement from anyone else on the thread
.
Yep. Sometimes I write something that people reply too and sometimes I just write my thoughts. It's all fine.

Toomuchtea · 04/04/2016 22:04

I am often way behind on the threads and LA, charge in to say something (often) inconsequential to which people often don't reply but then why should they? I'm often just marking my place.

I did like the way Peggy wasn't allowed in and that the SWs did remember, in the midst of it all, how vile she often is.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 04/04/2016 22:04

I don't get replies to half my musings on rl so I wouldn't know how to cope with too much conversation on here Grin

BYOSnowman · 04/04/2016 22:04

Tbf on Peggy - the blue lights were at her granddaughters house - she had a personal concern

I mostly respond to other posters points but rarely name check them

Hadron21 · 04/04/2016 22:04

Daddaddad, I love your posts. I married a mechanical engineer so find your analysis fascinating - for his sake Grin
If I was a scriptwriter id be rejoicing to see how each story prompts debate. I'm seriously surprised at my own reaction at times.
I started listening when Brian was having his affair and fondly remember driving around to look at houses to buy while listening with my now husband! I think it was 12 years ago.

AugustaFinkNottle · 04/04/2016 22:05

I noticed William Troughton on the cast list of a touring play that's coming to our local theatre, so I guess Tom may not be much in evidence for a few weeks or months.

Helenluvsrob · 04/04/2016 22:05

I have gone off rob and must change username !

EnglishFern · 04/04/2016 22:05

I think Ambridge will fairly quickly close ranks to protect and support Helen.

Like pasbeaucoup my experience of small villages is that the "newcomer", no matter how well liked, will be booted out of favour at the first sign of trouble...

Sage you routinely allow your DH to switch off the radio in the middle of TA?! Does he also insist that you make Real Custard? So listen out for the helpline number.

Funnily enough my DH came into the kitchen at about 7.08 pm today wanting to TALK about some RL nonsense and was also sent away with a flea in his ear...

Vango · 04/04/2016 22:07

babybarrister are you David Walliams really?

EnglishFern · 04/04/2016 22:07

I'm a laydee! Grin

I'm off to relisten to tonight's ep on catch up. I only had half an ear and I'm realising I missed lots of details....

Pipbin · 04/04/2016 22:07

This is all moving very quickly. Surely we can work out what the time was by checking if they had listened to The Archers or not.

vango yes just google. I came across it at work in a different context recently.

Kr1stina · 04/04/2016 22:08

I like the stats and think they are in keeping with the general geekiness of the threads -and it's good to have my stereotypes of actuaries confirmed

also I am a new poster ( usually lurker ) and I've found everyone very friendly

< passes rounds home made scones>

I like the way that whatever obscure thing happens on TA, someone on these threads will know about it eg legal issues, pie fillings, pigs, custard, police procedures, psychiatry, towels,

And I love the archivists here , who can answer any question about TA since 1945

< refills the teapot >

BYOSnowman · 04/04/2016 22:10

Ahem

I'm sure Harrison said Kirsty arrived at 9.40

Kr1stina · 04/04/2016 22:10

Babybarrister

Here, have a cup of tea and tell me legal stuff . I love it.

spiker · 04/04/2016 22:10

I'm pro-stats and anti-hair-ruffling generally, and I'm happy to note the stats without feeling the need to comment. Mind you due to galloping pace and slew of comments it's hard enough to keep up just skimming through, never mind getting round to posting meaningfully. So much gets said - and so well - I mostly don't feel the need to comment though. I mostly lurk, fairly new at posting on this thread (and extremely sparse elsewhere), but I stayed as I liked the tone on here, and I hope other new posters also feel welcome - because they are.

Wordsaremything · 04/04/2016 22:11

I know you are b b . D 3 was quoting an earlier post of mine referencing an earlier still post of mine pulling someone up on referring to any potential counsel as 'he'.

It really rather annoyed me, given the whole context of this conversation and the nitpicking at some of the female characters.
