Rob - dead? No, no, he's, er, resting. He's just pining for the Canadian plains. As Helen is taken into custardy, discuss the Archers here.

Yes,it is impressive.

Vango · 05/04/2016 23:07

DDD Ahem....can we move along now folks....nothing to see.

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 23:07

I'm impressed too (I have a shocking memory)

Agree jasper - in her position I wouldn't want him getting the knife

Imbroglio · 05/04/2016 23:08

I remember reading Erin's book in my teens and it was a revelation.

I think it's honest to acknowledge that in some relationships both parties are perpetrators/victims. Very difficult cycle to break.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 05/04/2016 23:09

Also, I do not really care whether vango is soc, Louisa, Jane Garvey, or anyone else: disagreeing with her doesn't mean we get to demand to know her identity!

I promise, swear to God, cross my heart, hope to die, honestly have nothing to do with The Archers, its actors, production staff or its scriptwriting team (past, present or future) or anyone in any way, shape or form connected with it. I hesitated before posting that dialogue. Now I'm embarrassed.

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 23:18

Don't be embarrassed!!!

Stickerrocks · 05/04/2016 23:18

I'm sure Fallon had to spend an evening with Harrison's chums. It was one of those awkward evenings where you feel like an interloper.

PseudoBadger · 05/04/2016 23:19

I'm back from my lovely meal with my lovely friends Wine

Pat may not have thought it was strange Rob had no friends 'back home'. I don't think she has/had any non Ambridge contacts

glowfrog · 05/04/2016 23:23

Just listened Feeling more depressed about the whole thing than ever. Can only hope Helen gets a diminished responsibility sentence.

FWIW I know what the law says but there's no way in my mind that Helen deserves prison. Yes she can be horrid and annoying but Rob got poetic justice. You going to drive someone mad? Then don't be surprised if they do something crazy.

Stickerrocks · 05/04/2016 23:24

Happy birthday. Hope you're enjoying lots of Cake & Wine & don't need too much Brew in the morning for your head.

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 23:25

Sticker - they were his work mates weren't they?

I'm not sure anyone deserves to be stabbed. Even knob. He deserves a lengthy spell at her majesty's pleasure

GreenGoose21 · 05/04/2016 23:33

Has anyone mentioned this article re: storyline having a year to run.

EBearhug · 05/04/2016 23:33

Everyone knows someone whose cousin was at Cirencester with their best friend's sister's husband. They just do.

Own family members, 2 of my godparents... Then others at Seale Hayne (RIP), Harper Adams, (not to mention Reeseheath), etc, etc. Plus universities with big agri departments like Reading. And you're right, people do just know, in a way that you don't with people in normal higher education. The old school (college) tie is still relevant - Dad always wore his to NFU events, agricultural shows and similar. So I can recognise a Cirencester tie - I guess that's part of how people know.

My sister was at agri college with someone who'd been at Brymore the same time John Archer was scripted to be there, and said they used to call his name at registration. Grin

I'm not sure it counts when you're arrested!

DadDadDad · 05/04/2016 23:43

Green - don't lurk - join us! All views welcome here... But thanks, anyway for the link - warning for some, it has that picture of Helen and Rob actors again.

Gruach · 05/04/2016 23:43

You have friends Pseudo? You'd never get on in Ambridge.

GreenGoose - welcome -and can you confirm that your link does not contain SPOILERS?

Butteredparsnips · 05/04/2016 23:45

Elendon Helen thought she could do it her way Yes. She probably did. A bad decision, but not unlike her - the real her - anyway.

shiny I am aware of the location of the radial artery thanks. My point was that I don't think it is credible that an injury of that severity occurred in the way the SW want us to believe. I know it's not real so I will carry on suspending my disbelief for now.

DadDadDad · 05/04/2016 23:48

Gruach - the link doesn't go into any detail about the future storyline, just that it still has some way to go apparently (and SOC has planned it all carefully). Usual line (from the BBC) equating large audiences and high response with everyone liking it and the story being a success...Hmm

Greengager · 05/04/2016 23:49

Can't see how pip would know rob. Didn't she go to Reesheath - or was that Helen? As a Hampshire boy Rob probably went to Sparsholt or similar.

GreenGoose21 · 05/04/2016 23:53

No spoilers, unless anyone genuinely thought the Bobby Ewing solution was a genuine possibility.

And I may pop back, but I'm mightily afeared that D3 will be demanding my CV, inside leg measurements etc. .Hmm

Gruach · 05/04/2016 23:58

'S ok - I was just being extra officious. Thanks GreenGoose!

You two!GrinGrin

GreenGoose - I don't demand, it seems some people want to throw this information at me of their own free will!
