I think I probably ought to go back to lurking! Grin

Looobieloo · 04/04/2016 13:46

So if Rob isn't dead, that whole World at One interview was irrelevant. Hope now receding... Confused

careeristbitchnigel · 04/04/2016 13:48

Helen won't stand trial. She will plead guilty to manslaughter by reasons of diminished responsibility (thanks to Knob's gaslighting this will be convincingly believed) and will receive a minimal hospitalisation order which she will need anyway because of her post natal depression

MrsArthurShappey · 04/04/2016 13:51

Vango don't relurk, you're good!!

AnnieNoMouse · 04/04/2016 13:52

The trouble with a Hardy linked title is it puffs up SOC's ego that he is emulating great literature Sad
How about something along the lines of Henry wants everything to be awwwright, and so do the listeners, even if SOC and TSWAMA

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 13:54

And then she'll be left bringing up the child of the man she killed , fighting off custody claims by his family...

Only she won't will she bexause its Ambridge and it will all be fine by Christmas.

careeristbitchnigel · 04/04/2016 14:00

If you want a take on Great Literature how about this homage to Wuthering Heights ?

"Hellllllllllllllin it's me, it's Kirsty, I've come rou-u-u-u-nd, guess what I saw thro-uuuuuuu-gh your window"...

Gruach · 04/04/2016 14:00

In my head Helen has already handed SOK over to the Titcheners, swearing that she never wants to set eyes on Rob's child again.

Had forgotten it hasn't actually happened.

Vango · 04/04/2016 14:01

At long bloody last. Well said Joan Smith. Thanks Looobieloo

redshoeblueshoe · 04/04/2016 14:02

Oh I've got an idea ok its not a good one

Fuck Off SOC, mumsnetters unite to heal Ambridge

BitOutOfPractice · 04/04/2016 14:03

How about "Where Rob gets more than apple pie for his just desserts" (pinched a bit from Pam Ayres)

BitOutOfPractice · 04/04/2016 14:08

That Telegraph article says it all really well about why last night was wrong for realism and helping women in this situation in RL (or to help others recognise it and help victims)

But it doesn't really touch on why this is wrong specifically for TA does it?

OneMoreStepAroundTheBendIGo · 04/04/2016 14:08

Apols if this post appears twice - v.slow connection.

I still fantasise that tonight's episode is going to start with Helen sobbing and gasping that she's stabbed him and he's dead, before Knob says "Helen, Helen, get back to bed! You're sleepwalking again and scaring Henry.". Then he'll ask what she was talking about and who she had stabbed and she'll tell him it was just a bad dream. Then the day will start as any other at BHC...

Against my better judgement, have just listened again. Did anyone else think that there was an extraordinary amount of glassware and china within reach of where they were fighting? BHC kitchen might be very small and the table would have been laid for dinner, but it did sound more like they were rampaging through the china department of John Lewis than in the everyday kitchen of country folk...

EsmesBees · 04/04/2016 14:09

Now that's a good article loobieloo

Travelledtheworld · 04/04/2016 14:10

Listening again. (Now I have got over the shock.)
Love the irony of Robs Last Supper.
Tuna Casserole, and pie made by Fallon and delivered by Kirsty.
Plus home made custard of course.

AnnieNoMouse · 04/04/2016 14:16

I wouldn't put it past the Sw's to give us one of those filler episodes tonight - the Grundies being comic local yokels; Lynda sniffing about something or other; Toby seeking gentle revenge on Bert.
Then someone commenting that Kirsty hasn't made it in to work today, and Pat saying, "oh there must be something going around, Helen rang to say Rob is ill today too".

GigotdAgneau · 04/04/2016 14:16

Thank you for that article link, Loobielou. Couldn't resist tweeting it to people I've been cross with on Twitter. Must stop NOW! BP haywire!

ppeatfruit · 04/04/2016 14:30

Thanks again Vango I remember Jess turning up in a bit of a state at the cottage (which DDK loves doesn't he ? what a sad vile person he is, the way he was ripping their lives to pieces).

Though I must 've missed the bit about Jess's attempted od (or forgotten it).

ppeatfruit · 04/04/2016 14:32

Oh and also when I just listened to the repeat; BOOP for the acting esp.Louisa's very powerful indeed.

AugustaFinkNottle · 04/04/2016 14:33

I begin to see the point of Ursula rather more. Her function is to carry on the gaslighting whilst Rob is dead or unconscious - we can expect to hear a lot of "Well, of course, Rob was very worried about her mental health, he did his best to protect her from herself" and "That Kirsty was always egging her on, of course she's going to lie for her now". To say nothing, of course, of "She did say she wanted to kill him, didn't she Pat?".

Vango · 04/04/2016 14:36

I really do think that Jess could have been Helen now, had she become pregnant. But since that never happened, he turned his grooming attention to another seemingly vulnerable woman (one who could clearly conceive) so Jess was no longer of any use to him.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 04/04/2016 14:37

Crikey this thread is filling up quickly (for obvious reasons)! May start listening again..

tibbawyrots · 04/04/2016 14:37

I've just listened again twice. Feel faintly ill now.
If he is dead, then I hope it's from a heart attack or something else previously undiagnosed which coupled with his rage proved fatal, wrong with him and not as a result of stabbing.
